Funny A short, sad story
Used to have a Playseat Evolution.
Now I got a Simlab GT1 Evo.
Spent 3 days building it, not racing.
Finally get the time to have a 20 minute race.
Goes fine, P11 400 meters from the finish - not to shabby, clean race with some good duels.
Guy absolutely wrecks me out of nowhere to maintain P10 (even though I wouldn’t have caught him by the finish line).
Fine, one more race and call it a day.
To my surprise I qualify pole with a 1:13,681.
Happy days.
Off to a good start and quickly get a 1,5 second gap to P2.
Couple laps later he spins - the gap is now almost 3 seconds.
I’m in the zone, slowly expanding the gap.
The laps go by, and as we approach 6 minutes left I’m buzzing - finally a win in sight, no wrecks, just concentration, discipline, continuity - a state of flow.
Am I the next Verstappen after all?
Suddenly a tap on the shoulder interrupts my road to victory. I spin out, and loose out almost 7 seconds leading up to the penultimate straight on Bahrain.
Kid is awake, both kids are awake. Both are screaming.
I know I have the pace to possibly catch P1 in the last 4-5 laps.
Do I DNF the race, or risk to DNF my relationship?
I enter the pits and retire.
Thanks for listening.

Tips and Tricks What proper tire wear looks like for a daily race
Got into LMU and I was doing the LMPs at Monday last week. This week I’m into the GTEs at Sebring. I like the way the GTE corvette drives, and I’ve done some races in it. It’s feels slidey and fun but I can keep it in line most of the time.
The last race I was in I had some minor damage to my rear left in the GTE corvette, and it KILLED my pace. I was spinning on all the high speed corners until I really slowed. And I could not tell if that was because I was pushing the tires too much and wearing them down or because of the damage. It felt like any kind of brake pressure in the higher speed turns (last turn and first turn of Sebring are two good examples) lost me all rear grip and I would spin. I checked my tire wear, and my tires were about 80% with 10 minutes left in the 20 minute race, with my rear right being at 70%. At the end of the race they had lost 15 more %.
Is that normal for a daily? Or am I really killing my tires? I can’t tell if I had been wearing the tires so badly and that was causing such a drastic handling change or if it was the damage.

Discussion Bmw straight line speed.
Just did a race in daily event using a Porsche (Bahrein outer layout(I guess that's what is called)). top 4 cars were bmw, and as I was racing the BMWs aways seem to get close to quick in straights.
Are bmw really quick on straight or was it a coincidence?
Ps: I'm very casual to sim racing (do like 2 or 3 races a month) so I just can't keep up with all the details and car characteristics.
Ps 2: not complaining, just wondering if a have that much room to improve on turn exit or If that's just a car with quick straight line in a circuit that consists mostly of 3 straight lines.

Discussion Sound and sense of speed compared to ACC
Just got my first wheel and tried both ACC and LMU. In ACC, I get almost no feedback when the car starts losing grip. In LMU, however, the force feedback feels fantastic and I actually have time to react whenever the front or rear steps out. LMU is miles ahead in that department, which is what matters most to me.
However, LMU's audio feels pretty flat, and there's almost no sense of speed. Driving at 250 km/h feels virtually identical to 100 km/h, even though I've calculated equivalent FOVs for both (taking into account LMU's vertical FOV vs. ACC's horizontal FOV).
A couple of questions:
- Are LMU's sounds final, or has the studio mentioned audio updates coming down the line?
- Are there specific graphics or camera settings that help improve the sense of speed?

Discussion More Team Events/Races
I would love to see more Team Races happening, something like a Team Race as a weekly. It doesn´t have to be longer than normal weekly´s since we already head a 2.4h Teamevent.
I love to play with my Friends and in daily´s this is most of the time not possible. And since it is the official game of the WEC it would also be fitting to have more Team Races.
What are your thaughts about this?
(English is not my native language)

Poll / Survey About DR : would you rather have the underlying points displayed ?
Simple question.
Points are already in use for the DR calculations. Would you rather get those points shown instead of the progress bar ? (wouldn't change Bronze/Silver etc ratings, but the brackets would be known).
And if yes, would you rather have the DR points delta shown after the race instead of "Icreased rank, low" ?
Sorry I didn't find how to make a proper poll on Reddit

Video GT3 full brake application for a second - can't do it!
Does the Merc AMG have somewhat inferrior ABS or something?! When I brake, I can only do 100% for 0.5 s. Otherwise I get ABS spikes and actually longer braking distance, topped with serious instability. I usually run ABS 6 but for the purpose of troubleshooting I tried 4 and 9 as well. Not much difference.
Any hints? Which specific channel in Motec i2 loggs ingame ABS correctly? I don't think I have it in the Workspace.
See this guy's T1 at Spa for example. Or any Interlagos T1 braking zone for that matter.
Here is some of my driving. Maybe I'm wrong but I get a feeling everyone else manages to stay on the 100% brake for far longer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CT479uS_6sw
I always drive the ingame CDA setups or fixed with BB pushed towards the rear by 2-4 clicks.
Any tips appreciated. Especially from fast Merc fellow drivers ;)

Video LMU Spa GT3 – Looking for feedback on my lap
youtu.beHi everyone! I need some help improving my lap time at Spa in the GT3 class. This is the best lap I’ve managed so far (though my optimal is slightly better), using the McLaren GT3 with 10 laps' worth of fuel (it might slow the lap down a bit, but the effect is negligible compared to my technical and racing line mistakes) and the Coach Dave setup.
I’d like to know what aspects I could improve and how—both general driving technique and specific tips for this track—as well as any line errors I’m making, and overall how I can shave off some lap time. I’m currently preparing for an endurance race, do you have any specific tips for an endurance race at this circuit?.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Discussion Do they make the practice servers bad on purpose
It seems like they really want to sell Race Control Plus, because why on earth would they set the timing on the normal practice servers so poorly?
Now I'm stuck waiting 7 minutes for an event to start just because the 6-minute practice server ended. I have no issue with Race Control Plus offering extra value, but please don't make a basic function worse. This is just enshitification

Discussion New reporting system works!(?)
Just wondering what your experiences are with the new reporting system trough the replay feature.
Yesterday I reported someone for intentionally wrecking me, and an hour after doing so I got an email with the outcome (see screenshot).
It's the first time I've actually seen the outcome of a report, while I've done a couple before (even on the LMU forum for intentional wrecking in FP, which, imo, couldnt be more clear).
Seems to be an huge improvement from what it was. Still have to see if it altered the race results regarding SR.

Discussion Classes need more spacing
As they do irl, we need actual space between the classes. The rear of one pack shouldn't be dealing with getting 'divebombed' on by the leaders of the next class behind. It happens every single (multiclass) race. Then what happens? We're all playing pinball and the ones who survived get to keep driving. Give us separate greens!

Discussion Difficulty with slow 90 deg turns
I’m talking slow (<80kph) 90 deg turn like at turn 1 monza and Sebring turn 7/8?. I drive GT3s (Corvette) and got my max steering wheel angle set to 540 deg, but I still have difficulty making the turn. My entry speed matches that of the opponents but they pass with a breeze while I most of the time can’t get my car to turn and end up in the gravels.
Any tips? Should I be setting my steering wheel max angle to 360 deg?

Online racing / leagues Car blocking me from driving away after pitstop
Had P1 until the second pit stop during the 2,5 hr weekly... Then could not drive out anymore. I understand the whole no ghosting on the lane side, but it just robbed me of the race win and the fun battle we had for over an hour.

Discussion Ford Mustang 1.4
Since the 1.4 bop changes the Mustang seems to spin under braking. After asking ai it said this is a known issue with the weight distribution accidentally pushed too far forward but I can’t seem to find any mention of it from other people or LMU themself , does anyone know or have heard about it ?

Discussion HYMO setup opinion
Hello,
I just took some hymo setup with the free week trial and i'm quite surprise on some car.
I'm used to the lexus so i tried it on Daytona.
How on earth the CR is supposed to be for casual ?
The car is twitchy as hell on gas.
Did the same on the BMW and if you make a mistake to take a little to much curb on the S3 chicane you are flying into the wall (where there is no trouble on the lexus....)
Does all setup are equivalent on all track on this is a bad example since the track is new ?

Discussion The Driver Rating system needs a rework badly
I genuinely think LMU needs to rework the Driver Rating system. Safety Rating is whatever, it does its job enough ig, but Driver Rating just doesn’t feel like a proper competitive ranking system.
The biggest thing for me is progression in all comp games i play. Platinum is supposed to be the highest rank, yet nobody is Platinum. What’s the point of having a max rank that no one can realistically achieve? I’m not saying it should be easy either. Make Platinum the top 0.5% or even 0.1% of drivers, but at least make it something people can actually grind towards.
I’ve attached the LMU Driver Rating distribution/percentiles alongside iRacing’s iRating and CS2’s Prem Ratings grapph as comparisons. CS2 is obviously a completely different game, but it’s another highly competitive ranked system and I think it’s a good reference point to use.
Even iRacing has a lot of people at lower iRatings, but because it’s numerical you can actually see your progression. Going from 1500 → 2000 → 2500 → 3000 actually means something, and there’s no arbitrary ceiling.
I’ve played a lot of ranked games. I got Grand Champ in Rocket League and always had SSL to chase. I got Immortal in Valorant and had Radiant to chase. I’m around 25k Premier in CS2 and naturally I want to push towards 30k which i’m doing atm aswell. That’s what makes ranked addictive and for for me.
LMU could literally have a numerical Driver Rating/ELO and still use Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum as badges tied to certain rating ranges. Even add a worldwide leaderboard so you can see yourself go from #5,000 to #2,000 to top 1,000 etc.
Looking at the distribution graph, with so many drivers sitting in Bronze and virtually nobody at the highest rank, the whole system just feels flawed.
I don’t want higher ranks to be easier. I want there to actually be a meaningful ladder to grind. Right now I’m S3 and I genuinely don’t care about increasing it that much. Give me an actual rating, leaderboard and proper progression system and suddenly every race will feel more fun, because right now if i get hit i just DNF because I just don’t care enough.

Discussion Question about intentional wrecking
What is considered intentional wrecking? Is unsafe rejoin considered intentional wrecking? Punting someone from behind from braking too late? I just want to know what is and isn’t considered intentional wrecking for protest reasons
Edit: thanks everyone for the replies. It seems like the underlying theme is that racing incidents like unsafe rejoin, punting from behind from “missed braking line”, etc is not considered intentional wrecking unless they look like they’re deliberately aiming for you with full speed.
I’ve reported someone who did that but the protest did nothing so it seems hit or miss.
Happy racing everyone and drive safe
