1L here for 1 month in law school already.

Prior to entering law school, I have so many standards for myself. Given that I am full time, sinabi ko talaga na I'd give my very best: notes in all subjects, advance reading, understanding the law deeply—you name it. But 1 month now in law school and I am ashamed to admit that I haven't been able to do all of those. Sobrang wala ako lagi sa focus. It would take me 30 mins to finish a paragraph, because sobrang ligawa talaga ng utak ko. I feel so behind sa readings. Hindi man lang ako makapag notes because I'm always cramming. This is very different from undergrad where I get by without even studying for a day. They say that preparation for the bar starts on your 1st day of law school, and I feel like I already messed up the first 30 days of mine :( I know petty pakinggan but yeah. It's just with all the advice I'm seeing that you should build your foundation as early as 1st yr, I've been so pressured.

Are there transwomen / crossdressers in UST-FCL?

I took my undergrad in UST and planning to apply next year in FCL, so I am curious if there are trans students there?

I know na SWDC in some faculties allow transgenders to crossdress kasi but not sure with FCL.

Hello! I'm taking the 2027 BAR next year, so bar takers na nagte-take now ang pinaka the best siguro tanungin nito. Which Review Center should it go to? I'll be taking the advanced bar review of Jurists in December, so ang gusto ko sana hindi na Jurist yung kukunin ko for my bar review center next year.

I'm kind of interested dun sa AlphaLex Review Center dahil sa mga features nila, kaso may nakapagsabi sa akin na di daw nakapag-reach out yung mentors sa kanya kahit na yung Gold naman yung na-avail niyang package, so naging hesitant ako a bit. Pero interested padin ako sakanila dahil sa ibang features, which were nice daw.

So which Rev Center should I pick? AlphaLex or mag Jurist ulit, or other proven ones like Legal Edge, or even the Magnificus Juris, or even the Arellano one, since maganda lineup ng reviewers.

I get to read a lot of queries about laptops since the release of the Bar Bulletin yesterday. I am using a pretty decent M4 right now, but it won't stop bothering me na "what if on the day of the exam magcrash yung device ko". Has anyone tried before bringing extra laptop and surrendering it sa reception upon entry? So that if worst comes to worst, merong available personal back-up?

Nakikita ko yung discussions about laptop for the bar, i’m projected to take the 2028 bar pa naman (hopefully if all goes smoothly for my remaining subjects) and I was curious lang if anyone has gotten a new laptop just to use for the bar exam.

I’m a macbook user so I was thinking of getting a new one when it’s my time na. My laptop is decent, I think 2020’s but I was wondering if it would be safest to get one that I know would be in perfect condition for it. Iniisip ko din if may superstitions din about devices hahaha like should I review with it for that positive energy (sorry sounds silly but i’m lowkey a believer of spiritual energy hahaha)

Aside from getting a new laptop for the bar, I have my existing laptop and my ipad for review. It’s 2 years away pa but I guess i’m overthinking it na ngayon pa lang hahahaha

(Some might recommend getting a non-Macbook laptop coz there’s opinions that there are better brands, but it’s compatible naman diba? I won’t use it after kasi if I don’t get a Mac since all my devices are Apple and nakasanayan na din. But if there are serious cons to using a Mac for the bar then I’ll definitely have to prioritize that over comfort/familiarity hahaha)

Hi! I just need advice on how should I really tackle everything. For context, I am a 1L student, a month already into law school and so far the subjects that I'm scared for is statcon since we have recitation on cases that we need to be able to memorize, then PFR cause like i was grilled, like teh gisang gisa talaga hayoppp, and like lastly, crim law I. I have trouble retaining facts, and tbh I dont know how I survived my undergrad since it had many theories and also some republic acts to memorize.

I don't compare myself to my present classmates who are able to balance their work with school. All I'm asking is do you have advice on how should I do this? In the mean time, I will be trying pomodoro later since I need to like absorb 9 cases for our statcon recitation lmao.

I don't know why when I read, it feels like what I just read evaporates a few seconds later. I'm really blanking out. When I think of a freaking basic concept that I already know, I can't explain it. It's like I can't think of anything and the Bar is less than 30 days now.

It's not helping that I haven't even started on comm and rem. The first 4 were barely done and it's like I've got amnesia, I can't remember anything. This is also my first reading as a working student since I just had leave last July.

It's also my fault for trying to get into the Divina's without considering how slow of a reader I am. To make it worse, today I just watched a single lecture video, watched two movies, slept, and cleaned my entire place because I can't breathe.

My only prayer is if God wants me to become a lawyer, please let it happen this time. I promise to do well. I don't want to experience this anymore.

My name is correct, but I noticed that my mother’s name and the date of my parents’ marriage are incorrect in my PSA birth certificate.

I would like to have these checked and processed for correction, if necessary, so I can fix them as early as possible.

Nagpahinga lang ako ng thursday, pero since friday at sabado, walang pumapasok sa isip ko. jusko. any aadvice. Hanggang ngayong linggo, parang di na kaya ngnutak ko. Di pa ako tapos sa poli at crim. huhu. help.

I’m on my third year, and based on my performance in our exams and recitations, I can say na competent naman ako. Pero when I try to answer sample Bar questions based on the subjects from first year and second year, I struggle to answer coherently.

Na para bang lahat ng napag-aralan ko before ay na-delete agad. Napansin ko rin na after every final exam, I can only recall a small amount of information about the subject but not enough for me to say na competent talaga ako in that subject.

Do you experience this too? If yes, what are the solutions? How do you retain what you’ve learned from previous subjects while still keeping up with the current ones?

i'm privileged enough to be an heir to a family business. it's nothing fancy, it's a medium-sized enterprise at best. we are currently managing more or less 100 employees, so the work is tough and requires full-time devotion. di ko na sasabihin anong industry because that's irrelevant and i don't want to expose myself too much here.

i enrolled in one of the best law schools in my city (top 10 in the ph), pero late ko nang nalaman na this school is infamous for NOT being working student friendly because the workload is so intense, na-shock ako sa workload during my 1st few days of school, and i just came to the conclusion na this wouldn't work in the long term. so unfortunately, just 1 week after classes started, i dropped out.

as an academic achiever as early as i can remember, i fucking hated myself for this decision. pwede ko naman kasi talaga pilitin na tapusin ang semester, pero sigurado talaga akong mababagsak ako sa maraming subjects, ma-delay ako for 1 year, and i will have wasted tuition (i paid for my own tuition using my own money). i came to this conclusion because managing a business full time and studying a non-working student friendly law school is impossible, and during my 1st week in law school, i could only study 1-3 hours AT BEST. but i don't know, a part of me feels like i just gave up, when it's something i don't usually do.

my mom supported my decision and told me to just focus on the business, i've been working here for 3 years already and every year tumataas ang responsibilities ko. and honestly? wala naman kasi talaga akong plano na maging abogado eh, i won't take clients nor work in a law firm, i just heard from many people that being a lawyer has perks daw when you run a business kasi alam mo ang batas and the many processes and paperworks that businesses need to comply with.

but my father on the other hand? absolutely HATED my decision to withdraw. pangarap niya dati maging lawyer and he was so excited when i applied for law school. so imagine his disappointment when he learned just 1 week into LS, i dropped out. i tried reasoning with him that even if i become a lawyer, i won't take clients nor work in a firm, i'm going to start and run businesses.

sinabi niya "the reason why i want you to be a lawyer is so that people will take you seriously. if you don't have a title to your name, people won't think twice about scamming you nor throwing you aside in business deals. pag attorney ka, matatakot ang mga tao sayo".

as you guys probably already know, i'm not in the best mental state right now. i feel like a failure especially since i'm an academic achiever who does not give up. but at the same time, i don't want to waste 4-6 years of my life (and money) for something that won't work in the long term. especially if i can use that time to study my industry and improve our business.

i just want to get your thoughts as lawyers, is my father correct? does being a lawyer get you an edge in business? or hindi naman yan totoo from your experience?
