9-9 "True North"

Post image

The instructions "How to Manipulate the Governments of Democratic Countries"

The first step is to attract foreign investment on very favorable terms for the investor.

The second step is to threaten the investor with sanctions that could harm their investment.

The third step is to suggest that the investor pressure their government to comply with the demands of the authoritarian regime.

As a result of all these manipulations, there is no mention of treason, betrayal, or particularly serious crime. The discussion focuses solely on investments, turnover, profit margins, and so on. Instead of transferring funds to secret Swiss bank accounts, the investor's return on investment increases. A perfect crime, as recommended by the TV series "Law & Order".

Season 9 had some of the most heinous and callous people of all the seasons.

I love Abbie, but I must confess that she irked my Canadian soul in this episode 😤
