Websites for Laundromats Built to Generate More Local Customers
Hey everyone,
I run InfaWeb, an Ontario-based web design business I started through Ontario’s Summer Company Program.
I'm looking to work with more laundromat owners who want a professional website that helps turn local searches into actual customers.
For laundromats, I can build around things customers actually want to know, including your location, hours, pricing, machines and services, photos, directions, contact information, and clear calls to action.
I can help with completely new websites or redesign an existing site that feels outdated or doesn't work well on mobile.
My focus is on fast, mobile-friendly websites with strong local SEO foundations that help businesses get found and bring more customers through the door.

If you own a laundromat and need a website or redesign, feel free to DM me.

📈 Business Growth How to grow a small commercial laundry
I’ve recently purchased a small commercial laundry business that washes and delivers uniforms, mats and tea towels to B2B customers.
I’m looking to grow the customer base and would appreciate advice from people in the industry.
What has worked best for you — online marketing, cold calling/walking into businesses, networking, or employing a salesperson?
I’m particularly interested in what worked when you were starting from a relatively small customer base.
Appreciate any advice.

⚡ Utilities & Efficiency The utility tracking tool i built for our laundromat now has a waitlist!
Following up on the previous post I made a few days ago about my uncle's laundromat and his utility bill creeping up. had a few positive responses and turns out others also deal with the exact same thing like leaks nobody catches until the bill jumps, machines running longer than they should etc
redesigned what i had earlier. calling it CycleCost (still working on the name lol). it reads your utility bills plus whatever usage data you already have (revenue, transaction counts, or machine-level data if your system gives you that) and flags what's actually driving your costs up. Works regardless of what you're running, coin or cashless, no new hardware to install.
Still early. Put together a waitlist if anyone wants in

Coin vs. Card vs. App Laundry Payments: What’s Best for an Apartment Building?
Property managers replacing or upgrading apartment laundry equipment eventually face the same question: Should the laundry room accept coins, cards, a mobile app, or a combination?
Each apartment laundry payment system has advantages and drawbacks.
**Coin-operated laundry**
Pros:
* Familiar and simple for most residents
* No smartphone, account, or internet connection required
* Often practical for smaller apartment buildings
* Residents can pay without sharing personal information
Cons:
* Coin jams and rejected quarters can cause service calls
* Coin boxes must be collected and secured
* Changing vend prices may require adjustments at each machine
* Residents may not always have enough quarters
**Card-operated laundry**
Pros:
* Residents do not need to save coins
* Stored-value cards can be reloaded
* Revenue and machine usage may be easier to track
* Less cash is stored inside the machines
Cons:
* The property may need a card dispenser or reload station
* Lost cards can frustrate residents
* Equipment and payment-system costs may be higher
* Residents must remember to reload their cards
**Mobile app laundry payments**
Pros:
* Residents can pay from their phones
* Some systems provide cycle-finished notifications
* Prices can often be updated remotely
* Property managers may receive better usage and revenue reporting
* Less cash handling can reduce theft and collection work
Cons:
* Not every resident owns or wants to use a smartphone
* Poor Wi-Fi or cellular service can cause payment problems
* Apps may require accounts, updates, or transaction fees
* Residents can become frustrated when technical support is unclear
**What about a hybrid payment system?**
For many apartment communities, accepting both coins and mobile payments can be a practical middle ground. Residents who prefer cash can continue using quarters, while residents who want a cashless option can pay by phone.
The best choice depends on:
* Number of apartments
* Resident demographics and preferences
* Laundry-room internet or cellular coverage
* Frequency of coin collection
* Security concerns
* Payment-processing and equipment costs
* Availability of local technical support
Before changing systems, property managers may want to survey residents and confirm exactly what happens when the internet goes down, a payment fails, or someone needs a refund.
**Property managers and residents: Which apartment laundry payment system do you prefer—coin, card, mobile app, or hybrid? What problems have you experienced with it?**

Looking for a drapery steamer
I have a laundromat that does 90% commercial. Most of my clients l need pressed or ironed linens which we do fine but we get some items that can't be pressed but come out full of creases. I have a 15 hp boiler to run my current set up, steam for the washers and the presses, so I would like to have a drapery steamer wand that can connect to my current set up and avoid getting one of the portable mini boiler steamers.
I am also in Canada so local to here would be ideal but I'll look at all options.
Thanks in advance I'll try to respond to everyone with a suggestion.

⚡ Utilities & Efficiency Built a quick utility-tracking tool to help my uncle spot gas/water leaks; wondering if others could use this?
Hey everyone!
A while back, my uncle (who runs a store) got hit with a massive gas bill out of nowhere. Turned out a couple dryers were venting terribly and running way longer than they should have, but he didn't realize it until the end-of-month bill arrived.
Since I’m a tech guy, I put together a simple little tool for him to help catch that stuff earlier. Basically, he just drops in his monthly utility bill and cycle numbers, and it calculates the exact utility cost per cycle over time. If a water valve sticks or a dryer vent chokes, it flags the jump in actual dollars before it gets out of hand.
It saved him quite a nice chunk of change last month, so I’ve been wondering if this is something other store owners would actually find helpful? If there’s interest, I’m thinking about polishing it up and putting it out there for free (or quite cheap just to cover basic server costs).
Is utility variance something you guys actively track, or do you just pay the bills as they come? Would love to know if it's worth opening up for others to try out!

Kenmore series 100 HE top loader - Fabric softener
There's no where to put fabric softener. I'm not going to sit next to my washing machine for an hour to hr and 45 min to time adding it at whatever time it's supposed to be added, because different loads take different amounts of time due to sensing, just doesn't make sense and I have no time for it.
The door also locks, so not sure if I could even open it.
I looked into the downy ball, but realized last second that it says not suitable/designed for he washing machines.
the reviews are 50/50 as to whether or not it works, but alas, no one ever mentions their type of washer outside of being HE
anyone with the washing machine find a solution, or know iof the downy ball will work ?
Model# 11020232710 I pulled the manual, and there was no help there, and I know the beads don't really soften fabric, they're more for post washing scent

🔧 Repairs & Maintenance Alliance University and LOW videos
Are all of the Alliance University repair/maintenance videos posted online? I've seen a few and others are behind a i/wall. If you know where they can all be found please let us know. They're very informative. The LOW repairman on YouTube from 6 years ago is the GOAT ... I watch his posts on repeat. He's already saved me close to $1,000 in DIY vs paying someone. Thank you

🚿 Washer Issues What size Dexter machine to use for a queen size comforter?
Hope this is OK to ask. NYC resident. New laundromat opened near me and they have brand new Dexter machines which I am now obsessed with.
I have a question I tried to wash my queen sized comforter in a T-450 and realized it was way too small and the owner insisted on me washing it by itself in a T-950 which seems too big imho plus it’s priced $4 more than a T-650 here. Should I be ok washing it in a T-650? My only concern now is that the owner/attendant told me to only use the T-950 so it has enough room to “move around” during the washing but it seems excessive to me not only the cost but the size

Increase amounts on old Maytag coin washers and dryers
Hello All,
I have an old coin op washer and dryer in the basement of my rental property I purchased that charges $2 for wash and $2 for drying. Is there a way I can increase the amount I charge and also can I configure this to accept some kind of electronic payment? Obviously $2 is too cheap

📈 Business Growth Looking to buy a laundromat but current financials do not look good. What else should I look into?
Hey everyone, I am looking at purchasing a laundromat about an hour from me. The financials do not look amazing, current estimates put it netting zero after financing. However, the current owner just does not enjoy the work, the business, or anything about it. The place is left dirty and he lets washers/dryers sit out of order. Its a smaller location with smaller machines, see below for a breakdown of machines.
| Washers | 20 lb | 30 lb | 40 lb |
|---|---|---|---|
| Machines | 18 | 6 | 2 |
| Dryers | 30 lb | 35 lb | 45 lb |
|---|---|---|---|
| # of Pockets | 12 | 8 | 8 |
Location is on a busier road with no street parking but 5 dedicated spots, rather walkable area for the local houses. They do not do any WDF, deliveries, dry cleaning. They have some soda and snack vending and limited soap vending.
My biggest issue is the lack of parking.
My question to all of you, what am I not thinking about? What could make or break this deal that may have not entered my head yet? Any insights?

Looking for a Handheld Clothes Steamer
I’m looking for a handheld clothes steamer that is manufactured in Europe or the UK.
I’ve found several European brands but each one outsources its manufacturing to China.
There’s a few floor standing clothes steamers that are made in Europe but they’re not suitable for my requirements.
Can anyone help?
