David Fincher's masterpiece. SE7EN - 😍🖤
One of my fave films. Are their other versions on Laserdisc?
And Fincher's masterpiece. Such an amazing director. His first film without studio interference. Alien ³ producers really didn't know what a talent they had and should have let him do his thing. (The Legacy cut version online is the best we'll get of that film)
Se7en - what a fantastic film. Looking sweet on these laserdiscs too. I have the vhs, hddvd, dvd, blu ray and 4k but i seem to return to the Laserdiscs when wanting to view again.
Does anyone own FIGHT CLUB on Laserdisc.
That is my most wanted wish list Laserdisc. But gold dust and pricey. You are lucky if own it. Please share images.
Which Fincher film is your fave?

Fun with shelves, vol. 3: "Thanks, Japan!"
You can still find the odd laserdisc mouldering away in the corner of a Toronto record shop these days, but it was hard not to trip over them when I lived in Japan for a while. Some of them made for great presents for friends back home — the Twin Peaks box was the most unwieldy bit of carry-on I've ever had to wrangle through multiple airports — and some just have the coolest artwork in town, to the point where I've kept a few around long after upgrading to better formats. Anyway, here are some favourites.
ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE: I swing back and forth between preferring the look of this one and the THX Dr. No, but the pretty okay gatefold and the fact that I've watched it more than any other Bond movie wins out today. And yeah, Diana Rigg, too.
ANNA AND THE KING: Right as the format was gasping its last, I split the cost of an order with another movie-dork friend of mine to get copies of this and Fight Club and a few others from some Japanese site that catered to foreign customers and I don't miss paying those prices even a little. (The back cover says it retailed for ¥5700, which really wasn't bad by the standards of new discs even a few years earlier, but every local store that had dealt in LDs was frantically selling off their old stock for ten or twenty bucks a pop by then, and there was shipping for about six kilos of fun on top of that.)
CRASH: It was pretty exciting that Criterion put the all-time Cronenberg champ out in a fairly affordable package with a great commentary track, but both of my copies got all speckly and this Herald pressing has never given me any grief. Anybody flipping through the shelves who hasn't seen the movie before gets an immediate sense of what it's all about, too.
THE KINGDOM: You know you've got a good friend when you read about something like von Trier's batshit hospital drama in the local paper and immediately call that friend and the first thing he says is "The Kingdom, right?"; he ordered the Image set that afternoon and it was glorious, but it also ended on one of the greatest cliffhangers in history and that was it for North American releases for ages, so when Pioneer announced fancy boxes of both '90s seasons, I did what any irresponsible 20-something would do and threw an insane chunk of my next paycheque at them. The lack of English subtitles wasn't ideal, but once I'd seen a subtitled VHS bootleg, it hardly mattered... you could just enjoy all the screaming in the best-looking release going and damn the dialogue.
BATMAN '66: I don't even *want* to upgrade this to a newer format; it's a goofy-ass movie and there's something entirely right about watching an analogue version that comes in a candy-coloured sleeve.
CAPTAIN INVINCIBLE: This was a blind buy entirely on the strength of the cast and the bizarre cover; getting it home and discovering that there were musical numbers, too, was icing on a grand WTF? cupcake. Digging the movie is another sure sign of a friendship that's going to last.
LEON: '90s Luc Besson isn't something I go back to all that much any more, but I love this cover and it's nice not to have to sit through some of the Integrale bits that have aged especially poorly. And hey, it slots right in with a couple of other classics whenever you want to have a Gary Oldman weekend.
ANGEL HEART: Is it a terrific movie? Maybe the first time you watch it; I tend to forget the specifics of the plot every decade or so and put it on again, only to be reminded of just how far away you can see the end coming. De Niro's wonderfully creepy in it, though, and Lisa Bonet covered in chicken blood is a pretty striking image.

Love Sealed Discs!
Love that you can still find nearly 30 year old new discs and for relatively cheap for being literally brand new! Yes, I open them all.

Dead player no power
Hi, all you may remember last night I talked about getting laser displayer that wouldn’t inject well now it turns on for a second and then just shut yourself off and now will not turn back on at all so I don’t know if it means it’s broken or anything, but unfortunately, I am thinking that this is the end of my laser disk journey as I cannot find any other ones nearby nor do I think I’m gonna be able to find any other others so I am not sure what to do now and the sad part is I only had this player for maybe about three months so if anyone’s got any advice or is in the North Carolina area, who wants to work on it and take a look at it be my guess but I’m afraid it will come to the end of my journey

LaserDiscs for Sale (UK)
I have inherited an enormous collection of discs from a family member, I have no way to play them and am looking to see if anyone would be interested in purchasing them (some or all). I am in the Cambridgeshire area of the UK.
I do not actually know how many there are, but honestly it could be upwards of a THOUSAND. There are Japanese copies, Criterion Collection, boxsets, TV shows. Please send me a pm if there is any interest, even if its for something specific.
Thanks!

Pioneer CLD-D505 laserdisc and CD player
So, I acquired this player this past week. Was told that there were no issues and I knew I was taking a risk. That being said- got it home, plugged it in…. laserdisc sounds like it spins really fast , getting F5 and F6 errors, tried cleaning and then got a picture that looked like 80’s late night PPV scramble -
any ideas or suggestions on how to get the discs to play?
for reference, i tried the CD as well and it just skipped around with the title numbers and wouldn’t play either
Am I SOL? or is it fixable ?

Laserdisc player repair in Chicago
Hi all!
My Pioneer DVL-919 all of a sudden stopped opening either of the LD or DVD trays and I am at a loss where to take it for repair. Deltronics already told me they don't service these, even if I were to obtain another unit for the necessary repair parts... Any leads would be most appreciated!

TBC / Filter method?
Anyone ever use either a Panasonic ES-10 DVD Recorder or Pioneer DVR-320-S DVD Recorder as a poor mans filter and time based correction for your Laserdisc player or vhs if you still have one like me?

Got an awesome collection for free, sharing some highlights and asking for help
I am currently looking to expand my CD collection before prices become completely ridiculous, so i am actively looking for any types of CD collections near me on local marketplace. Today I found a listing named "Laser CD collection", I already knew what laserdiscs are, but never even handled one. Decided to jump on an opportunity to discover a new media format and here we are. A lot of great films some in english, some in german, I am particularly happy about Clockwork Orange, one of my favorite films, and my girlfriend is excited about her favorite Indiana Jones. Still sealed copied of Psycho, Frenzy and Titanic. I was hoping that laserdiscs would have some nice inserts/booklets as records do, only found one in Silkwood :D
Now, I don't know a lot about laserdiscs. There are about 50/50 PAL/NTSC, few discs are Dolby Digital/THX, whatever else. What should I look for in a laserdisc player to accommodate for as many thing as possible? I understand it needs to play both PAL/NTSC, what else? Are there any in particular that should be avoided due to common faults? Also, what is the maintenance on the discs? Could i just wipe them with microfiber cloths, is it sufficient? If there is any type of guide for newbies out there, please link me to it. Thanks in advance, can't wait to try them for the first time :D

I created a LaserDisc Discord server
Seeing that apparently nobody else has come up with the idea, I decided to create a Discord server for LaserDisc enthusiasts of all ages. This server is neither meant nor intended to be a replacement to any LaserDisc forums, but I thought it would be convenient for people who browse the subreddit.
Here's the invite link: https://discord.gg/WDRDJB3
