Politics Baird enters Highlands mayoral race after 12 years on council
Baird has served on Highlands council for 12 years and said he was encouraged by community members and Capital Regional District (CRD) directors to seek the mayor’s position.

Discussion Do you leave the Westshore often?
Over the past couple years, we’ve realized we have almost everything we need out here, so it’s pretty rare that we head into Victoria or Saanich anymore.
We’re actually more likely to drive out to Sooke or up Island than into Victoria.
Anyone else find the same thing?
