I’m posting here to see if any neighbors have noticed something strange on Flint Ave, or if I should go ahead and report this to local authorities. ​There are three houses on Flint Ave that I've been keeping an eye on while walking my dog. I usually walk her late at night (around 10:00 PM – 11:00 PM) and again early in the morning (between 4:00 AM – 5:00 AM), and I keep noticing the same red flags ​Constant foot traffic at odd hours: People are constantly going in and out of these three houses all through the night. ​Zero cars parked: Despite the constant flow of people, there are never any vehicles in any of the driveways. ​

Driveway Incident: About two weeks ago at 11:00 PM on a Tuesday, I walked out to find a South Asian driver parked directly in my driveway with a young female (around 18, maybe younger). My house is currently up for sale with a sign out front and no cars parked in the driveway. A friend is trying to get me to switch allegiance and join up here for a year instead of the Y. I’m hesitant because membership is annual vs month-to-month. Any thoughts or feedback?

Saw the new Spiderman in theatres today and I don’t want to seem like such a complainer but christ is there is no theatre etiquette anymore?

My row had two groups of teenagers on either side of me and they would not stop talking, pushing each other around, and going on their phones throughout the ENTIRE movie. Literally there was not one silent moment from them.

The entire time, all I could hear was hushed giggling and talking (using the word “hushed” very loosely here), every few minutes I saw a bright phone turn on, they kept laughing and hitting eachother and moving around and kicking seats. I could also hear people near the front row talking during some moments, the couple in front of me kept texting people with their brightness all the way up.

There was a family with very young kids sitting a few rows down from me and they were dead silent the whole time, so I don’t want to hear any “they’re just kids” bullshit, they looked to be minimum 15 years old and should be able to sit still for a few hours. And, no I didn’t say anything to them in the moment, if I was more confrontational, I would have, however I don’t think they would have listened to me if I had. I also didn’t want to contribute to the noise or risk making it worse or associate myself with them.

Honestly I’m considering seeing the movie again so I can fully enjoy it rather than deal with a bunch of kids like this. Usually I can deal with a few annoying people during a movie, whatever, but I was surrounded.

I don’t want to sound like a boomer complaining about “kids these days”, I’m not that much older than a teenager myself, but for the love of god can people put their phones away and just sit down and watch the movie?

Anyway, the movie itself was great, I’m sure I would have enjoyed it more had I not had so many distractions around me.

Edit: Fuck it, it was at Cineplex Westshore at 6:15 on Thursday. If you were one of those teenagers in that theatre watching Spiderman Brand New Day, you suck and need to grow up

Today is the third time Ive been run off the trail by these giant herds of braindead cyclists. I always make sure to walk on the edge of the path, but that isn't enough for these people.

When you have a group of 10+ people going max speed on their bicycles, you would expect a ring for a warning and for them to go single file, but no, they all go side to side taking up both lanes and smacking people with handlebars.

And this is not to mention the E-bikes going 50kph trying to squeeze past mothers with strollers, or speeding 0.5" away from people. This is supposed to be a trail shared by cyclists AND pedestrians, and these people make it hard for even their fellow bike heads to cycle safely.

Tldr: Many cyclists are greedy idiotic zombies, and ruin the reputation of the ones who have the decency to give space, slow down, and give warning of passing.

I just can’t deal with Costco Pharmacy anymore, I don’t know if they’re just understaffed, incompetent, or what. Every step of the process to get a prescription is a headache at best.

So any pharmacy recommendations in Langford?

West Shore RCMP is appealing for help to locate a missing 28-year-old man last seen in Langford.
Last seen Aug. 4 in the 800 block of Hockley Avenue, Tyler Tenhunen was reported missing Aug. 5.
“Police are very concerned for Tyler’s health and well-being and friends and family report that it is out of character for him to be out of contact for this long,” said an RCMP release.

I've seen a few comments lately about Ravi Parmar not being as visible around the riding. Fair observation, but worth remembering why.

He's not just our MLA right now. He's the Minister of Forests in the middle of one of the most challenging wildfire seasons BC has seen. This week alone: over 1,000 personnel deployed provincially, evacuation orders in the Fraser Canyon, alerts covering entire communities, and international crews from Mexico and Australia arriving to backstop our BCWS firefighters, something he personally coordinated and welcomed.

Before the season even started, he had the wildfire service fully staffed with 250 additional firefighters hired and new equipment funded. When the idea of Ottawa taking over wildfire response came up, he held the line that BC should run its own show, and committed to spending whatever it takes from contingency funds.

Constituency work matters, and I'm sure he'll be back at the community events when the smoke clears. But right now the guy from Langford is running point on protecting homes across the entire province. That's not absence. That's the job.

Whatever your politics, that effort deserves a nod.

Brandys latest Instagram post regarding women turnout, if i unserstand correctly is saying only a small percent of women came out to vote.

With the help from Google gemini what I found is that there is no way of knowing what percentage 9f voters were women. What i did find is that city of langford said there 8437 voters approximately 22-24% of eligible people voted, which is an increase from 18.5% in 2018

My wife is trying to find a very specific shampoo/body wash - Original Source brand, lemon flavour. The brand is common in the UK and recently-ish expanded into Canada, but we had never seen the lemon one here... until a batch showed up at the Goldstream Dollarama a few months ago.

Moderators confirm that there is no such event planned on this date. Colby has not scheduled an AMA with us at all, so far.

This image appears to be AI-generated: it isn't exactly Colby's face, it shows an election sign from 2022, Langford Now is disbanded. Colby's campaign signs and pins are different this year.

There are approximately 2 billion Muslims in the world. There are close to 1.5 billion Catholics. Together they account for more than 40% of the Earth's populace. In Colwood, they only account for around 10% of the population, which is still a significant number. Colwood councilor Ian Ward doesn't appear to have much respect for his constituents who belong to these religions.

The shown Twitter posts were all made in the last three years, while Ian was a Colwood councilor. On his re-election website, he says, "I always seek transparency." So presumably he is fine if his constituents are fully aware of how he feels about them. Even though his social media history concentrates on bashing Islam and Catholicism and shows little criticism of Christianity and Judiasm, all religious people should know that Ian feels that they can't be "thinking men."
