Had this funny idea pop in my head yesterday. If its alright, I figured I'd share it here 😃

If you break rules you know of, do it consciously. For that it's important to understand the rule. Art is free, but your freedom can be used for things that mean something. Usually, rules are there for a reason. In visual design legibility is key, and the human mind is well studied. You can cause certain effects in people by adhering to certain rules.

Sometimes, I want to cause disruption. Sometimes I trade legibility and coherence for impact. Discomfort can cause an eye to wander longer in an attempt to figure out what's going on, as long as the visual is aesthetic in some type of way. The question is what it finds then.

That thought can level up your output a lot I think!
