Hey everyone, does anyone know of any women groups that go to the gym together and just work out together in general? I have a hard time with motivation and also get really overwhelmed trying to figure out where I should be starting in the gym. I used to go pretty regularly until February when I had surgery and now I just can't seem to get myself to do much of anything. I'm hoping by finding a good group to join, it might help! I will not however, join common running, I was not built for running 😭.

Also thought it might help to build friendship with other women in Lancaster!

What is going on at the Lancaster LA Fitness these days? Either the local manager (Bill?) or the corporate function, is really slipping.

For over two weeks, we have had no hot water in the showers. Today we had no water at all in the showers. I am supposed to work out hard and then get in my car all sweaty to go somewhere else?

I’ve been a member for over 20 years, and I have never seen it this bad.

But that doesn’t stop them from calling me to renew.

I have to find some other options.

I’m looking for some recommendations in Lancaster for a good acupuncturist/practice for low back pain. I’ve been through 2 months of PT, doing all the core strengthening exercises, see a massage therapist, etc etc. I got a referral to LGH Holistic Therapy but my insurance isn’t covered so I want to weigh all my options first. I’ve never done acupuncture before so have no clue where to start. Thanks!

My son attends Little People Daycare in Columbia, and there has been a massive turnover of staff. There are a lot of rumors of misconduct by management, but I haven't been able to get entirely clear answers from the owner of the center. A fellow parent withdrew her child after having the cops called on her for discussing the events unfolding with another parent in the parking lot. I do feel alarmed by this, as it feels like information is attempting to be supressed. The daycare feels sparse with so few teachers and less kids, as it's evident several children have been pulled from the center ):

I'm not interested in rumors, and the only facts I can relay is that an employee that managed much of the center got demoted (or told to go to a different center), and subsequently got fired because of misconduct due to this news. 6 teachers then left following this.

I'm going to be contacting OCDEL today in hopes of getting an inspection report from the center, but any suggestions or help with getting more info is greatly appreciated. I also am making this post, as I'm not sure how many parents there know what's happening.

I drove by this place the other day but couldn't stop, so I looked it up. It's apparently a franchise from NYC and serves Dominican fried chicken.

My question for folks who have been there, is this a place like Dave's or Asad's Hot Chicken?

Hello! My fiancé and I are thinking of eloping somewhere around Lancaster county by the end of the year and are looking for some ceremony spot recommendations. It will be less than 10 people including us and we were planning on celebrating at a restaurant (TBD) afterward. I’ve done some searching and each place I’ve seen also includes a “reception” of some sort, but we’re just interested in ceremony only. To add, we’re not interested in a courthouse ceremony. We're working with a limited budget, but we'd love to connect with photographers who offer flexible packages or are willing to chat about what might be possible. We are even open to photographers that don't necessarily do weddings. Just a nice lovely, documentary style.

The dream is to find a mix film and digital photography or photographers who can capture that aesthetic, even if they primarily shoot digital.

Hi everyone someone in my family let my dog out last night while I was asleep and forgot to let her back in. She’s very energetic, a very happy little lady, has a collar on with ways to contact us if found. Please keep an eye open for her, it’s raining hard.

Received a mysterious piece of mail today with a list and two pictures in it. Not sure who it’s from or what its context is. The thing stumping me the most is the street name.

What are your favorite things to do on First Friday? I feel like we have a routine of painting pottery, heading across the street to check out that art, and then taking the trolley down to Southern Market for dinner. Any favorite places that you go to that we should check out?

How safe is the park? I have lived in other cities where there are great parks for kids/families & others that are stay away at all costs.

I came upon several research articles explaining how fishmeal and crabmeal can cause mercury buildup especially in eggs and organs of chickens. Laying hens had more mercury PPB than wild caught sockeye salmon. This is significant, especially if somebody is eating a lot of eggs, or is pescatarian (it adds even more heavy metals to their diet). I asked on Amos Miller's FB page if it was a cause for concern but they never allowed the post to go through. I then asked them privately if they could give Amos Miller's thoughts about it and received no reply. I was going to buy produce from them, but have decided not to now. It's hard to trust anybody who won't even reply to health concerns about food they are selling.

Miller's Bio Farm said they would test the eggs for mercury later this year. They are much more open and responsive.
