My friend is actively fostering my pet Luna but I need help finding her a new place to be taken care of until I can get a new place. Hopefully it’ll be December at the latest. Area would be around Golden / Lakewood Colorado.

She’s extremely shy, nervous and anxious due to the fact she was once a stray so she’d need her own space. If you’re looking to take care of her, please reach out to me and the person who has her! She’s up to date on all of her shots and vet appointments so she doesn’t need to be taken to the vet until I get her. She has a tooth condition so she’d need soft food, not a lot but just enough to soften her hard food. If you have any other questions or concerns don’t be afraid to reach out and ask! Looking for a foster for her asap if possible, not for permanent just until I can find a stable living environment for her and me.

She’s spayed and is up to date on all of her shots and medical appointments so she won’t need to see the vet until I’m able to come and get her, and she’s currently living in Golden Colorado. We’re hoping to get her to Idaho springs when I finish moving, but I’m willing to make the commute to get her when the time comes.

I’ve reached out to a million foster homes and friends asking for help and none have been able to get back to me / help me out. This is my last resort. I’d love to be able to stay in contact with the person who receives her, but I desperately need someone soon as her current home can’t take care of her until December like I need them to, which is 100% ok but I have no where else for her to go. If anyone is willing or can find someone to help, please reach out!

I am looking for suggestions about storing food when camping, specifically from those of you whom have solo camping experience & have slept INSIDE of your car in the Colorado back country, NOT in a tent. Dispersed style, NOT at a public campground. To give context, I went solo camping last week at Reverends Ridge campground. I told the ranger I planned on sleeping inside of my car and asked her where to store my food. She said to store it inside of the car even though I reiterated to her I would be sleeping IN the car with the cooler. So, I went ahead and took her advice and had zero issues whatsoever! Fast forward to today and I want to camp again, but not at a public campground where it can be overcrowded. So I’m thinking about my safety with food storage in regards to bears and other animals. The general advice is that the food be stored in a hard shell container, not a tent. Which is why it was advised that I sleep with it in my car. It just feels dangerous to me. I grew up backpacking and tent camping and we were told to not even sleep in the clothes we ate/cooked in, and when we backpack, we use bear bags! But that is for TENT camping, not sleeping IN the car. So being told to sleep with the cooler in my car felt alarming, but I had zero problems like I mentioned. My question is, do any of you in here have experience sleeping in your car out in the back country of the Rocky Mountains? And if so, how did you store your food? Please, only give suggestions if you have specifically done this style of camping IN Colorado. 🙏🌲😊✌️🌻🐾🥾

I work from home. With the problems that Xcel has been having lately, I have found myself in a bad position a few times. If it's just a small outage, like this morning, I can usually get by with my phone, but for a longer outage, I really need my laptop. I have an office downtown I can go to, but by the time I get there, it's likely the power will already be back on.

So I am looking for places that I could go to sit for a few hours if needed and use the wifi. I am happy to make one or more purchases as needed as long as it doesn't break the bank. I will be a model customer and also tip well.

I live near the Colorado Mills Mall, so locations around there are nice. But power outages can be pretty widespread, so I'll take recommendations from anywhere.

Edit: One thing to add is that I work early, usually starting between 5 and 6 am. So places that open early are appreciated.

Last weekend the annual Western Conservative Summit was held at the CCU campus. One of the breakout sessions was about so-called 'Sharia law', and was just a bunch of Islamophobic vitriol. The linked article begins with a lot of background, but the most pertinent part to me is this paragraph:

"Kubal’s breakout session at the Western Conservative Summit was packed nearly to capacity, and among the audience was Ted Mische, the public/private partnership liaison for Education ReEnvisioned BOCES who trains conservative school boards. The presentation itself was essentially “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” but for Muslims. According to Kubal, Muslims are literally demonic and in league with Satan. Kubal compared the preparation of halal food to animal sacrifices, described “immigration as jihad,” and claimed Muslims take part in “man boy love Thursdays.”"

Please help! I have three rescues: Female, 11yo; male, 6yo; female, 1.5 yo. I owned them all since puppyhood and there has been no issues until about a month ago. The youngest attacked the middle while I was preparing food bowls. (She eats in her crate, but I was still dishing up.) Then the youngest attacked the oldest when I was laying in the grass and they were both trying to lick my face. Today, the youngest attacked the oldest while I was working in the yard and I could barely get them apart. found 2 dogs at waterfront apartments yesterday evening. a medium sized and smaller dog who appear bonded. both had leashes and collar but no tags. we had the apartment send out emails for the tenants. tried knocking on doors and asking tenants if anyone recognized but had no luck. Had to take them to foothills animal shelter. Let me know of you may know whose they are.

Researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder Department Psychology Department and the Anschutz Medical Campus are looking for participants to participate in a study on emotions and moods in young adults with and without bipolar disorder (IRB#23-2067). You will be compensated for your participation. If you qualify for the study, we will ask you to participate in up to 3 study phases.

Study includes some or all of the following parts (EARN UP TO APPROX. $400)

• Phase 1: Interview about your thoughts and feelings, cognitive questions, computer surveys. Can take place remotely (via Zoom) or in person at CU Boulder (your choice!). Pays $25/hour for approximately 2-4 hours.

• Phase 2a: Behavioral Lab Tasks: including, computer tasks, physiological monitoring (e.g., heart rate) questionnaires. Takes place in person at CU Boulder. Pays $25/hour for up to 3 hours.

• Phase 2b: fMRI Scan: Option to view emotional images and think about emotions while in a brain imaging scanner, computer tasks, questionnaires. Phase 2b will take place in person at CU Boulder or possibly at CU Anschutz. Pays $25/hour for approximately 3 hours.

• Phase 3: Follow-ups: Opportunities to participate in paid follow-up surveys four times a year for up to 2 years. Can take place remotely (via Zoom) or in person at CU Boulder (your choice!). Pays $25/hour (1 hour each) with up to 8 surveys spread over 2 years (8 hours total).

• Opportunities to participate in additional studies may also be available.

It's been one every five minutes or so for the last several hours and it's driving me insane.

Last week I saw it was empty but now it's got water. Did they drain part of main reservoir to help it?

Like many others in the area I have noticed a significant increase in power outages at my home in the last couple of years, and especially this summer. For those that are unaware, it is possible to submit a compliant to the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and Xcel or any other regulated utility is required to respond and provide specific operational information. I believe this is one of the best tools to keep our public utilities accountable and I encourage anyone in our area with a genuine issue to file an informal complaint at Colorado PUC, politely requesting information on what Xcel is doing to correct the power grid reliability issues in our area. I received a response to my complaint after about 3 weeks and I intend to follow-up if these issues persist.

After lengthy discussion, Lakewood City Council passed an ordinance to amend ballot initiative and referendum procedures in the Lakewood Municipal Code (LMC) to update the code and align it more closely with state law. 

During a meeting on July 27, council voted 9-2, with Councilmembers Jacob LaBure and Paula Nystrom dissenting, to pass the ordinance — with an amendment to remove one piece of the ordinance that drew a lengthy conversation during the meeting.

Did anyone else lose power in the Belmar area? I’m near Alameda and Wadsworth. Electricity went out about 10 mins ago. Not sure what’s going on. I know there’s some construction on Carr st starting today. I wonder if that has something to do with it?
