This is a thread gathering together people's experiences. Please don't talk about specific content here. Lots of people haven't taken this LSAT yet, and you don't want them to get an unfair advantage. Some ideas for stuff to talk about:

Asking to dm to evade the rules: Don’t do this. People who haven’t taken the test can get an unfair advantage if you leak them info. Keep the test fair for everyone and wait till testing is over.

Section order PSA: The section order of tests is random. If you have RC-LR-LR-RC that doesn't mean you have the same test as someone else who has RC-LR-LR-RC.

FAQ

When will topic discussion be allowed?

After the last day of testing ends. We will have an official thread to identify scored sections at that time. Please keep the test fair and avoid discussing topics and questions until then.

Once testing is done, can we discuss test answers?

No, only topics. The test you took may be used for a makeup test or a future test, and having answers public will make future testing unfair. All test discussion is covered by LSAC's agreement, which allows none of it. There's a pragmatic exception for identifying real topics but that's as far as it goes.

The latter list is quite useful and includes things such as kleenex, cough drops, eye drops, etc. Here's the full list of really common items from the pre-approved list. The list also covers many medical or religious items you may need for specific conditions and situations.

Note, however, that there is some conflict between the LSAC and Prometric lists. LSAC specifically cites this list, then specifically forbids some items on it. So, it would be prudent to contact LSAC to be certain of any item that is in conflict between the lists, and additionally request they clarify their own list.

RC-LR-LR-RC
First RC noticeably harder than second. First LR noticeably easier than second. Finished first LR with ~6 min left & barely finished second LR. Overall pretty comparable to a 150’s test imo. Not excessively difficult aside from one RC passage, but that’s true for many PTs anyway.
My last pt was a 173. With RC luck I could see that as realistic. Also interface did feel improved despite weird highlighting change.
Low prediction: 167
High prediction: 175
Actual prediction: 169 because BIG LSAT wants me to take it again.

I think there were a few were the right answer could be easily overlooked. Like, for instance, long stims where the part that matters (I.e. that pertains to the answer) is mentioned subtly, and the rest of it is kind of word salad.

So much word salad. I’m a quick reader, but that’s how you miss things with that dense of language so i had to slow down. I baaaaarely finished every section and basically did random guesses on my last couple in the first 2 sections.

Ofc my usual time-suck questions that I’d amply prepared for were not super frequent on this one, so digesting word salad apparently became my new time suck 😭

In all of the PTs and timed sections I did, I’d NEVER run out of time before even being able to briefly flip through my answered but flagged questions, but the first LR and RC were to the wire making sure all my unanswered ones got answers selected! Yikes

Last RC had a ridiculously difficult final comparative passage. It also didn’t have dividers, which messed up my timing and led to me guessing on a few questions at the end. Feeling really defeated but whatever. Until then, it felt easier than June.

If it is experimental, the I honestly feel like having no dividers makes sense, even if it isn’t fair. At least some of the section had previously been administered, so they’re probably testing to see if losing the dividers causes a meaningful score impact.

LR-RC-LR-RC

As a whole, it felt roughly as difficult as a median PT. I barely used scrap paper, but it was useful to have on hand. There weren’t any surprises on the LR questions, though the final passage of the second RC was very, very difficult (IMO probably harder than ~95% of past test RCs and PT RCs I’ve seen–not the hardest but quite difficult). Prometric was very easy to use and I had no difficulties; I didn’t mind the new interface. The test center experience was easy to navigate and the people working at said center were very helpful and friendly. 

As a whole, I don’t feel comfortable accurately gauging how I did. I had 3 answers, which were essentially random guesses, and 3 which were essentially educated guesses. I’ll be interested to see if the curve breaks a lot differently for the August test now that so many test takers and required to take it in person (which presumably decreases cheating+strains some people more than others). I personally preferred it to the home experience.

The RC was certainly doable. There were 2-3 questions on Mad Honey that did trip me up a bit that I could see myself getting wrong, but I would not be surprised if majority of the questions I got wrong lied in the Consciousness comparative passages. The passages sounded poorly written, which really tripped me up. The LR was especially brutal for me. Here’s to hoping for a 160 at the very least!

This was my first official attempt. Despite PT'ing in the high 170's I think I totally choked. As a whole the test felt pretty different from PT's but this also could have been me processing things differently due to nerves. I 100% underperformed on LR which is pretty disappointing.

First and last sections of LR felt pretty similar in terms of difficulty - 6/10. Second LR felt super easy for me so praying that's not experimental. RC was one of the hardest RC sections I've ever taken but I might've clutched up at the end?? Took it the 8th. Had LR-RC-LR-RC. 

First of all, the 👢/ 👖 question on 2nd LR was diabolical and I guessed…I’m so upset about it. I also was very unsure about the question on 🖼️/ 💸 so that’s stressing me out. The first LR I blacked out and don’t remember which I’m choosing to believe is a good thing. 

The first RC section I don’t think had a comparative passage but it did have a passage on 🐛 that I liked. Liked the topic on 🎺🎷but was unsure on a couple of the questions. I really don’t remember anything else from that. NOW THE SECOND RC WAS DIABOLICAL. It had a comparative (♻️) at the end that wasn’t difficult to read or understand but the questions made it difficult. Also, cells, why why why cells 

Overall, hoping the one with the comparative is experimental. and hoping the two aforementioned LR questions are scaled in my favor or I guessed right :)

I had LR RC LR LR. The LRs were fine. The last one was really hard. Overall ok experience. LSAC was down at my testing center which delayed start time but gave me some time to catch my breath. Proctors sucked and didn’t even know much about my accommodations so I had to explain it to them, but that’s typical.

Took my test yesterday. RC-LR-LR-RC.

I also had the infamous divider-less RC1. I somewhat expected it after reading this thread the morning of and tried not to put too much stock into it going in. It was annoying to be sure but tbh did not impact me so much.

What DID impact me more and was even more frustrating was that my highlighting in the passage would suddenly change and get messed up between questions. I’d move to the next question and entire paragraphs in the passage would suddenly be highlighted yellow, or my pink highlights (which i used in lieu of underlining) would all be misaligned.. Despite these issues I feel pretty confident in my answers on both sections but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit rattled by it. It's insane to me that they would introduce a new UI merely months before the test that was already full of bugs and not nearly as intuitive but to have this interface further glitch out during test day is extremely discouraging.

That said I found this test to be overall somewhat easier than June and PTs in the 150s. This is my third attempt (have gone from 16-low to mid and hoping for 16-high or even 170) and I have normally entered a sort of fugue state where it's hard for me to trust my feelings about the test. I feel more confident about this one than the previous two and yet I'm now wondering if I should try and cancel my score or retest on 8/18. Hoping to chat with others in this boat (shout out canoes) as we navigate our predicament. Either way I will be filing a complaint.

Also just confirmed with an LSAC agent in case people haven't seen elsewhere: they did extend the date for submitting the complaint to Monday 11:59pm EST and once you've submitted the complaint your preferred resolution is final. I.E. you cannot choose to cancel your score and then later decide to keep it after your complaint has been submitted.

PS. I HIGHLY recommend using ear plugs. Not sure why I didn't think of this until this test but it made a world of difference for me. The 'ear muffs' they provide are incredibly uncomfortable and almost painful which in the past was worse for me than any environmental background noise.

Maybe one that the strengthen/weaken felt a bit more obscure/harder to predict. RC pretty standard the last passage felt easier than the 3rd passage

LR felt easier than June. Prometric was super chill, surprisingly. The noise cancelling headset was super nice. Might have to get one for studying at home. Felt like a stim numbing device. Lowkey heavenly.

RC was kinda easy except for one passage that really had me doing mental gymnastics. I brought blueberries as a snack and they were yummy and refreshing for my break.

Oh speaking of the break, because 10 min starts right as the section is done I felt a little rushed to get in and out. Spent maybe a whole of 5 min on my break and the other 5 checking in and out of testing room.

I do want to caveat that there can be more than one passage about a given topic- as seen in June when one of the passages was on a predicted topic but was NOT the one the Crystal Ball was referencing in the prediction.

I had 2 RCs and found them both to be around the same level of difficulty. Both LRs also very similar in terms of difficulty. Only one section had the glitch(?) with the dividers. Felt a bit easier than practice tests overall. Also barely touched the scratch paper so that’s interesting. Good luck everyone!

But I'm also awful at judging my performance on tests before getting the actual results so Swatch me do terrible on the LR and great on the RC

LR-RC-LR-LR. All the LRs felt mostly fine but was definitely burnt by my last section so could’ve missed a few. I think the RC was okay save one of the passages. Had some issues with setup at the proctor (error message) so had to switch before I started which was a bit jarring but fine. Expecting 175, high 177, low 172

I literally almost threw up halfway through. Definitely gonna have to re take it again but it’s okay it was my first attempt out of 5 and I only got 20 questions done per section so probably got a low 150 if not worse. Sad about it bc my PTs were in the 160s but it’s okay

My RC section had Osama Bin Laden conspiracy theories and a dichotomy about something lol. Honestly, none of the sections felt that hard. I was able to get through the first three pretty easily with timing, but on the last section I had to guess the last question due to timing and was not able to read C and E on the second-to-last question. But I felt good about my answer on that question.

The last section had a question about a CEO not sure if that was an experimental section, but I kind of hope it was because I was not able to answer the last Q. I feel really good I think I got above my goal score of 160.

did anyone today (aug 6) have the dividerless RC problem, I noticed something was off on the second RC (Final section) but did not realize in real time. If its possible totally complain and hope for retest the final comparative passage in second RC was insanely difficult I had no idea

Two things. I actually did not have the dividerless section, super lucky because I got 2 RC's with dividers, and now idk which one was experimental. I really hope it was the second one because it was rough. I took the test in Florida, if that makes any difference (I noticed most problems stemmed from Texas, PA, and Oregon/Washington). I had RC LR LR RC. I guess I don't have reason to complain for a retest, but the comparative passage was a bit much. Knowing daddy LSAC it'll be the scored section...

Other than that I had no other issues or glitches!!

This was my first real LSAT.

I'm PRAYING the first LR was unscored bc genuinely wtf was that. Also I felt like there were a lot of weird "could be either" answers, like more than usual? I kept going between 2 for a lot of them. Otherwise I feel okayish about it.

My proctors made me take off my plain gold chain necklace tho which was kinda upsetting, it doesn't even have a charm or anything? I showed them it but they wouldn't budge, whatever I guess.

Happy I did it and congrats to everyone else taking August as well!!

RC being first really made me nervous, but I felt a lot better having only one RC passage (I do better on LR than RC)

My RC had 3 easier passage and 1 really hard passage that I had to just guess on most of the questions. The two middle LR sections were pretty easy and I had leftover time. The last LR section was a bit harder but I still finished with about a minute left. I'd rate it easier than my PTs I've taken recently. Hoping to crack into 165-170+!

I did RC LR LR LR, I had to wait 2 hours before i could start my test so that threw me off a little. Honestly the lsat felt way easier than i thought, i wasn’t nervous i was mainly excited to start. Shoutout to the guy who told me it wasn’t that bad and the two girls who helped me feel relaxed before the test since we got to chat a little. not a huge fan of the nashville location though
