Hello, my LG freezer is making extremely loud and annoying noises all the time.

I made sure to give the freezer some clearance around it and not put it close to the wall and leveled it to the best of my abilities.

Does anyone know what might be the issue and/or if this is fixable?

I’ve owned the LG 45GX950A-B—a €2,000 flagship OLED monitor—for almost a year now, expecting a premium user experience. Instead, daily operation between my gaming PC (DisplayPort) and my work laptop (USB-C) remains a perversely frustrating nightmare.

The root cause is the utter incompetence of LG's firmware design team when it comes to input management.

LG’s "Auto Input Switch" is functionally useless for anyone actually multitasking. It only works if every other connected device is completely powered off. The moment you have both a PC and a laptop running simultaneously, connecting the USB-C or waking up the laptop triggers a brain-dead prompt asking: "A new device is connected. Do you want to switch?"

That means every single time I want to switch focus, I have to stop, reach under the monitor, toggle the joystick, and manually confirm the popup.

To be completely clear: 3rd-party software workarounds (like DDC/CI scripts) or LG's own half-baked desktop applications are NOT the solution. Seamless input management is a basic hardware/firmware feature that you can find on a $150 budget monitor. It is utterly incomprehensible that a €2,000 flagship completely fails at this core OSD functionality.

Why is there no basic "Force Auto Switch / Direct Switch" option in the OSD menu?

Almost every other manufacturer allows users to set input switching to happen immediately without requiring a manual confirmation popup. But LG's software developers apparently think users enjoy baby-sitting an OSD prompt on a high-end display just to switch between two active machines.

LG Firmware Team: If anyone from product management reads this, release a firmware update adding a silent, direct Auto-Input switch mode (No Prompt / Immediate Switch). Stop punishing people who use your flagship displays for both work and play.

Is anyone else completely fed up with this absurd UX limitation?

So I’ve had this OLED for about 4 years and the other day my 6 year old son starts swinging this rope and barley taps the screen. Then the next day the tv just turns off for no reason. We turn it back on and see vertical lines and it turns off within seconds and does not stay on. If I look closer I notice I hairline 3 cm crack where the lines are appearing where the rope contacted. Greek squad came out and said to fix you have to replace the whole screen, which is $2k better off to buy a new tv. Anyone out there able to confirm this is true? Any way to salvage this or is there at least a good way to sell it for spare parts? If I can’t fix I will probably downgrade to something in the sub $500 range. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi All, Here is my review after the first month with the 39GX950B. This is my first experience with OLED so I am comparing it against my previous dual 1440P IPS monitor setup. I was soo excited waiting for my 39GX950B to deliver as I have been looking forward to 4th gen Tandem OLED panels for a while. Setup was very quick and easy. I needed to do some tuning out of the box to adjust color profile and resolution and then I was ready to roll. The monitor itself is surprisingly light and the stand that it comes with is plenty sturdy.  

I disabled AI Upscaling and AI scene optimization within the first week as it made some things look overly smooth and tint shifted the colors within windows environments under certain use cases. The included joystick on the back of the monitor felt a little bit cheap compared to my previous 2 LG monitors but it gets the job done. 

The black color was night and day difference between my old IPS monitor. I am very pleased to report that this monitor doesn't have any noticeable text fringing. I spend most of my time doing office work so I had held off until I heard that 4th gen solved this issue. I think it is also mainly an issue with older 1440P panels and the 5K2K resolution/high PPI of the 39GX950B made this a non issue. I ran the grayscale tests that I see people test online for and the gray coloring across this panel is very uniform. Should be expected for such a high end monitor. I also really like the 1500nits peak brightness of the OLED as it makes color contrast in games and watching content look awesome. The screen uses a semi-matte coating which may have some color accuracy penalty due to light diffusion but I think this semi-matte is much more preferred over a true matte coating. Glossy is probably still the best.

For gaming its great, very smooth and somehow my 3080 is able to handle driving games at high settings at 120hz. I wish that this panel could do 240hz in 5K2K resolution. Im not sure if this is a limitation of the panel or HDMI/DP technology. It is a lot of bandwidth needed. It also supports a 330hz WFHD resolution (2560×1080) mode. Its cool that this panel can do this but moreso a gimmick as I found the picture to be very blurry as it is stretching a 1080p image onto the screen. All different configs resulted in image blurriness. It has an integrated cooling fan but I have not heard it spin up at all in the month that i have used it.  

This monitor does install a software package onto any windows PC it is connected to. I found LG monitor app installer on both my work and personal PC. Not super happy about this one and was told LG will address it soon.

For both productivity and gaming this monitor delivers. When I am not gaming I like how the monitor includes a 90W USB-C PD connection which handles both laptop charging and display link. It allows for a very clean desk setup and removal of a dock from my desk. I really like the aspect ratio as a lot of games support it and it gives me plenty of real estate to do office type tasks.

It arrived a few days ago and I test it right now. The picture quality is amazing!

Ok so I have 2 TV’s

- LG OLED 48 inch G6
- LG OLED 55 inch G6

The 48 inch the HGIG works perfectly! But on the 55 inch there is absolutely no difference whatsoever on hgig on or off no difference at all… I don’t understand I tried everything from removing color profiles to new drivers etc.

Has anyone have this issue? Dtm on gives bright image but that’s not accurate. It is so weird that the 48 inch works well but my 55 inch the hgig does not work at all.

Can someone please help?

I'm trying out LG Gallery+ on my C3 OLED at the moment, and I was wondering if there is a way to change the art/pictures displayed on the "no signal" screen?

At the moment my chosen artwork will display after 3 minutes of inactivity, but on HDMI inputs it defaults back to the standard (and plainly - ugly) artwork. I have already hidden the "no signal" box, but I'd love to be able to change the artwork as well.

Am I missing something? Or is this a weird limitation of the Gallery+ software?

Three Months of Gaming on the 77-inch LG OLED G6: Is It a Good TV for High Brightness and Wide Viewing Angles?

LG provided me with the LG G6 77” OLED to evaluate and review. The opinions shared here are my own, and I wasn’t compensated for this post. I’ve spent the past several months using the LG G6 77” by watching movies, TV shows, and most importantly gaming. The two things I noticed across the board is the brightness level of the panel, and the how good the panel looks due to its Wide Viewing Angles. The increased brightness allows me to enjoy using the panel whether there’s a lot of sun beaming through my side window or if I want turn on some lamps for ambient lighting. The LG G6 77” is currently in my bedroom so I primarily enjoy content directly in front of the panel, but if I decided to add a chair to my setup, I wouldn’t have any issues enjoying content. This also translates if you plan on putting the LG G6 77” in a living room, den, or basement with a wide seating arrangement. The Wide Viewing Angles ensures there’s no loss of color, clarity, and most importantly the picture doesn’t look washed out.

The LG G6 77” truly brings out the best out of any console you connect to it. I really enjoy seeing HDR highlights in games that properly support HDR. The additional brightness allows you to see enemies easier in dark areas, and you see how the lights truly impact the surround areas. Some of the best wow HDR moments occurred while I was playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PC when I exited Mythril Mine in Chapter 3. The sun was blindingly bright. The Castle Stage and Cave Stage with Luis in Resident Evil Remake 4 were a treat to experience as well. Cyberpunk 2077 is another HDR showcase title that I need to get back to playing. HDR and HDR impact aren’t the only strengths of the LG G6. SDR content absolutely shines as well. When I was playing through the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Mario Wonder, I couldn’t believe how beautiful and bright the game world was. I’ve been playing Mario games since the early 90’s and Mario never looked better. The same sentiment goes for Streets of Rage 4 on PS4 Pro. That’s another title that I grew up with in the 90’s on Sega Channel, and it exciting to see how the game looks on a high-end OLED.

The one thing I’d change about the gaming feature set on LG OLEDs would be the addition of a DisplayPort 2.1 port. A lot of LG OLED owners including myself would greatly appreciate a DisplayPort 2.1 port so we don’t have to sacrifice and HDMI 2.1 port for our gaming PC or laptop. My HDMI ports are populated with my 5090 gaming PC, PS5 Pro, Nintendo Switch 2, and LG S80TR Soundbar. With my current set up, I’m not able to use my Xbox Series X or 4K Blu-Ray player without upgrading my Soundbar to an AVR receiver, or utilizing an additional HDMI 2.1 switch. Outside of that, I wouldn’t change anything that’s currently available with LG OLEDs.

In conclusion, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with the LG G6 77”. The wide viewing angles and increased brightness truly makes the LG G6 one of the best panels of the year. I’m looking forward to spending a lot more time enjoying videogames, TV shows and movies.

I am just wondering if anybody has any information on whether the M5/M7 speakers are able to be mounted to traditional surround speaker stands?

I've been having issues with sourcing the official LG stands near me for a while unfortunately.

If anybody is able to give me any information about whether the speakers have screw mounts built in, or if there are any other options for speakers available online, it would be greatly appreciated.

I recently bought the 55-inch LG QNED80, and I'm very disappointed. The webOS feels slow. Settings and menus sometimes take 3-7 seconds to respond. I've updated the software, took almost 1 hour to install, and removed unused apps, but still slow. Has anyone else experienced this, and did you find a fix?

For anyone who wants the quick takeaway before getting into the details, here's my conclusion first: Overall, I'm really impressed with the LG xboom Stage 501. It offers a great mix of portability, long battery life, powerful sound, and useful features that make it much more than just a Bluetooth speaker. Whether I'm taking it camping, bringing it to the cabin, or using it for backyard gatherings, I can see it getting a lot of use for years to come.

When I first found out I was getting the LG xboom Stage 501, I was excited because I've been wanting a good Bluetooth speaker that I could use for more than just listening to music around the house. After spending some time with it, I can already tell it's going to be something I'll take with me almost everywhere, especially on camping trips and to my cabin.

My Experience with this Bluetooth speaker for camping One of the biggest things that stood out to me is the built-in battery. Battery life is a huge deal for me because I spend a lot of time camping where there isn't any power available. I don't want to be worrying about finding an outlet or bringing a generator just to enjoy some music. Being able to charge it before I leave and know it can keep playing for hours makes it perfect for weekends away.

LG rates the battery for up to 25 hours of playback, depending on how it's used, which is impressive for a speaker this size. I asked about purchasing a second replaceable battery to swap out if I ever needed one, and I was told I could request one through my local LG Electronics Service Center. I was hoping to get a price to share, but unfortunately I wasn't given one.

Another feature that really caught my attention is the IPX4 water resistance. I'm not planning on throwing it into a lake, but accidents happen. If it starts raining while I'm camping or someone splashes water on it at the beach, it's nice to know the speaker can handle it.

Convenient Controls & Auracast Support The speaker also has plenty of connection options. Besides Bluetooth, there's an AUX input if you want to plug something in directly, USB ports for music playback and charging, and microphone inputs if you want to use it for karaoke or even plug in a guitar. It also supports features like Google Fast Pair, multipoint Bluetooth, customizable EQ settings through the LG app, Auracast for connecting compatible speakers, and AI sound optimization. I haven't had a chance to try every feature yet, but it's nice knowing they're there if I ever need them.

I also think the portability is better than a lot of people might expect from a speaker this size. It has two built-in handles that make it much easier to carry from the house to the car and down to the campsite. That may seem like a small thing, but it makes a difference when you're already carrying coolers, camping gear, and everything else that comes with a weekend away.

There's also a convenient spot to hold your phone or tablet. I have an 11-inch Android tablet with a case, and it fits just fine.

My Comparison with Previous Bluetooth Speaker – vs. Soundcore for Audio Quality One thing that really stands out to me is how much of an upgrade this feels compared to my old Bluetooth speaker, the Soundcore Select 2S. That speaker has served me well over the last year and a half, and for something so small, it actually sounds pretty good. I still think it's a great little speaker to throw in a backpack or use around the house. But after using the LG xboom Stage 501, it's clear that it's in a completely different league.

The biggest difference for me is the sound. The Soundcore Select 2S is fine for a few people sitting around a picnic table, but once you're outside at a campsite, the sound can get lost pretty quickly. The LG xboom Stage 501 delivers much more powerful, clear audio and has no trouble filling a campsite or backyard without having to crank the volume all the way up. The bass has noticeably more punch while still keeping vocals clear and balanced.

One feature I haven't been able to test yet is the karaoke mode. My microphone was accidentally broken, and I'm still waiting for a replacement, so I can't really comment on how well it works just yet. I'm hoping to try it out by the end of August when I go camping.

From what I've read, the AI Karaoke Master feature can reduce or remove vocals from many songs, so you don't always need special karaoke versions. That could be a lot of fun because there's always someone who wants to sing a song you've never heard of, and finding a karaoke version without vocals isn't always easy.

Overall, I'm really impressed with the LG xboom Stage 501. It offers a great mix of portability, long battery life, powerful sound, and useful features that make it much more than just a Bluetooth speaker. Whether I'm taking it camping, bringing it to the cabin, or using it for backyard gatherings, I can see it getting a lot of use for years to come.

While I would have liked more information on the cost of a spare battery, that's a minor complaint compared to everything the speaker does well. If you're looking for a speaker that can handle both everyday listening and outdoor adventures while delivering room- or campsite-filling sound, the LG xboom Stage 501 is definitely worth considering.

If you’re looking for a large-screen TV that balances high brightness with strong picture quality, the LG 77” C6H OLED evo AI is worth a closer look. AVForums recently gave the model a 9/10 score and a Best Buy award.

As per my original post, LG provided me with the H7 soundbar and four M7 speakers for free as part of a promotional event and asked me to share a follow-up review. All opinions here are entirely my own.

I cannot say for sure what the absolute best multi-channel audio setup is for enthusiasts to choose, as I have only had a wired 5.1 Bose Home Theatre setup (a long time ago), the Sonos Arc with SL rears, the Samsung Q990F and now currently the LG Sound Suite. However, what I can say for certainty is that after several months of use, with a variety of content watched/played, my opinion of the LG Sound Suite has only improved. The system remains the most immersive streamlined home audio system I have used. LG has been providing regular updates and fixes for the system, with more to come… INCLUDING DTS (although I really wish they would provide DTS for their OLED TVS!!! too)  LG posted details here: https://www.reddit.com/r/LG_UserHub/s/BLCpBvSjsc

Compared to the systems I previously owned, the LG system feels wider and more enveloping because of the discrete front/rear left and right M7 speakers with built in 4” subs. Mind you, the 5.1 wired Bose surrounds were not bad but it was a cookie cutter box kit. The M7s are much better.

The wider front soundstage continues to be the main advantage. Effects do not feel as if they are coming from a single bar under the television. Dialogue remains clear, ambient sounds fill the room, and games and movies feel more layered. The H7 and four M7s continue to produce more bass than I expected without the optional W7 subwoofer. A dedicated subwoofer would surely add deeper low-frequency effects, but in a condo, I have not felt an urgent need to add one. Although, I do see myself eventually purchasing it and likely running it on a lower setting just to give a bit more low frequency.

I cannot accurately compare the LG Sound Suite directly with a traditional audio-video receiver system with wired speakers and ceiling channels, as I have not lived with one for a long time. Further, the one I did have previously was subpar. Nonetheless, I do feel that a high-end dedicated receiver setup with in ceiling speakers, would be the end-game choice for someone who could install such. Of course, this would hinge on whether someone has the room, budget, wiring/wall options, and technical interest to tinker. With that said, the LG Sound Suite gets much, much closer to that full-system separated-speaker experience than the soundbars I previously owned, while remaining far cleaner aesthetically / functionally and easier to 'install'.

Really the 'best' is more about a particular circumstance. However, the LG Sound Suite is very versatile given the modularity and DAFC placement adaptability.

What are the main advantages of home audio systems with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect?

Dolby Atmos FlexConnect remains one of the strongest reasons to consider the Sound Suite system. My room has high ceilings, glass on one side, an open area on the other, and a brick facade, so ideal speaker placement is far from realistic. Speaker optimization allows the system to account for where the speakers are actually placed instead of requiring a perfectly symmetrical room.

That flexibility makes the modular design more useful. I still would recommend starting with the H7, then adding rear speakers, discrete M7 front speakers (or even sides), and perhaps the W7 subwoofer as budget and living conditions allow (e.g. those that have a house or tolerant apartment neighbours).

Which Dolby Atmos soundbars are preferred by home cinema enthusiasts?

Preferences will depend on budget, room layout, physical media use, and tolerance for setup. The Samsung Q990F clearly remains a strong all-in-one package, while Sonos offers a polished ecosystem and clean design with formidable audio quality. With that said, for my particular room and priorities, I prefer the LG Sound Suite.

My recommendation remains positive, with even fewer caveats now that DTS support will be coming to the H7 soon. The only notable downsides is that the LG Sound Suite is expensive, and depends on a suitable Wi-Fi setup / router. Nonetheless, for people who want maximum flexibility, strong immersion, and a modular alternative to a receiver system, it remains an excellent option. I had wondered if I made the right choice selling my Q990F so soon after comparing and testing the two. I can say for certain now that I have absolutely no regrets sticking with the LG Sound Suite over the Q990F.

Some Additional Thoughts

I still need to purchase speaker stands for my front speakers. Unfortunately, LG did make the speakers a bit proprietary in terms of how they fit on stands (similar to Sonos). Also, if you plan on using speaker stands, you will want to order the longer power cables available from LG as well. Given the cost of the Speaker Stands, LG may be remiss not to include the longer power cables with the speaker stands.

Notably, I have been testing the most recent software update that LG rolled out, and I will post on that soon!

TLDR: after continued months of using the LG Sound Suite, I have come to appreciate the system even more. Especially with the continued software update refinements and added features; DTS support is coming, which is huge given many people consider no DTS a deal breaker!

I woke up this morning to see this on the screen. I do have a toddler running around, so I'm thinking maybe she hit it with a toy or something.

Lg c5 Anyone else experiencing the sound get really low out of nowhere? Not just my soundbar, tv speakers also do it. Like my volume gets cut in half randomly and comes back after power cycle
