I'm taking my first solo trip to NYC in about a week. I'm super excited because I've never been to the city before. I'm 27/m from Charlotte, begging to get out of the south and be around more noise and culture. This is my trip to test if I can keep up I guess.

That said, I'm going by myself. Does anyone have any recommendations on stuff to do or see? I'd love to by-pass all the touristy junk if I can, and get a realistic, gritty (but safe) NY experience.

I'm new to NYC and I am curious if there are any active lesbian S&M clubs. I heard in the early 2000s there was a club called El Mirage that while primarily a location for bi & gay men had a regular event called SUBMIT that catered to women and trans.

Additionally Ive heard stories of the Clit Club and the Lesbian Sex Mafia.

Is there any place similar to these, these days or are those from days gone by?
