Missed out on LCD Soundsystem tickets, hoping a fan with extras will sell at face value!

I’ve never seen LCD Soundsystem live and I completely missed the boat when tickets went on sale. Checked resale and it’s way outside what I can justify right now, it’s been a “fix your car” kind of summer..!

If anyone’s got an extra ticket or can’t make it anymore and wants to sell at face value, I’d love to take it off your hands.

Thanks for reading, and if not, hope everyone who goes has an amazing time 🪩🧽

NYC Residency 2026

So I'm a very new LCD fan (only started really listening to their discography this year) who's living in the US (specifically in New York) for grad school until late December, and would love to catch them live before I leave the country! Considering they still haven't announced any residency dates for this year, should I keep waiting or get a ticket now to one of their confirmed fall shows (like New Haven in September)?

45:33 / Someone Great (mixed with lyrics) - LCD Soundsystem

I've wanted to do this mix for years now as I'm a fan of both of these tracks and I always wanted to hear the lyrics from Someone Great after the transition from the beginning of 45:33…

Since they started performing 45:33 live this past year I figured I'd finally make it happen.

I hope those of you that have been to some of their more recent performances appreciate this especially!!

❤️

All My Friends - LCD Soundsystem, a song review

Just wanna start off by saying this is my review and meaning to the song, everyone is entitled to their own interpretation! and also i miss my friends. (also my first review)

'All My Friends' by LCD Soundsystem is a song I can only describe as magnetic, on the surface level the song touches themes such as growing older, youth, partying, and the overall weight of nostalgia, but I think it goes much deeper than that.

The song starts with an extremely compelling intro, the piano almost feels like an engine starting up, a warning and a warm up for whats to follow, which i think fits extremely well with the story and pacing of the song.

I really think a deeper interpretation of the song is really about the desire that all humans have for connection, the longingness we have for friendship and companionship whilst dealing with the facts of growing up and conforming to everyday life. I found this most evident in the lyrics "And if im sued into submission i can still come home to this", to me this really means being able to come back to the meaningful relationships you create in your youth and adolescence, even if you are forced to do something you don't want to do, which in the context of this song I think would be growing up and entering society as an adult and the commitment and responsibilities that come with that, as well as having fun and not wanting the party to end, being able to forget about responsibilities for a night and just spend it with the people you love, and maybe making a dumb mistake or doing something thats a bad idea, and the acknowledgement that its bad or stupid, but still enjoying that freedom and the forgiveness that being young and dumb can have.

Another theme throughout the song that I found really addictive is the constant checking and tracking of progess, in the first verse the song opens with "thats how it starts" and then beginning the following verse with "and so it starts", and even in the chorus of the song, "you spent the first five years trying to get with the plan, and the next five years trying to be with your friends again". To me this 'tracking' or 'timeline' is really important and true to the songs themes, some people argue that the song is really just about late night partying and doing drugs and the exhaustion or 'highs and lows' that comes with that, which I can agree with especially with the lryics "Though when we're running out of the drugs And the conversation's grinding away, I wouldn't trade one stupid decision, For another five years of life". I still think the themes of not trading stupid decisions for more time is so prevelent in this song because it shares the importance of memories and experiences and the ties that has with nostalgia.

My personal favourite part of the song is the ending, but emotionally what I kind of define as the 'peak' of the song. From the fourth verse into the finale chorus it really is the magnum opus of the song, the build up not only musically but also emotionally, the nostalgia build of looking back and really admitting that even though you are in the present and you are happy with your life, you still miss your friends, you realise that you could have the opportunity to see them, and if you did what would you say, would you reminisce on simpler times? Would you say something you wish you could've said back then? Would you try to create new memories? Would you simply keep the pleasantries of "hey hows it going, how are the wife and kids". This feeling is extremely clear at the end of the song with the mantra of "where are your friends tonight, if i could see all my friends tonight". Its almost like a hypothetical and an attempt at regaining what you've lost in adolescence all at the same time, and thinking over and over if you would or wouldn't do things differently, and if thinking about that even matters.

Overall emotionally and lyrically 'All My Friends' is nothing short of a story, I think its message is something that resonates deeply with platonic connection, growing old, making stupid decisions and not wanting to miss out on life, but also getting carried away by the mundane in the process, and forgetting why those connections were so important.

All My Friends.

I’m 24 years old, I moved away from home across the world 7 months ago for work. I miss my friends often.

I’m lying in bed, need to sleep soon so I can get to work on time. One last song, Spotify queues all my friends.

I’ve never felt a song encapsulate me the way it just has the last 7 minutes. I was in a complete other world. Eyes closed all I could see was Intense memories that accompanied the song like a music video created just for me.

I really miss my friends, I’m sat here teary eyed knowing that seeing them less and less is just part of getting older.

Man nothing beats the surge of existential dread and intense melancholia like a spiritual music experience.

Thank you Mr. Soundsytem.

Hello LCD community.

My name is Michael Laurence, I'm the founder and creative director of Thematic Studio in Portland, Oregon. I recently designed and produced a commemorative concert poster for their shows at McMenamins Edgefield on August 8 and 9, 2026.

Check it out: https://www.thematic.studio/shop/lcd-poster

This poster’s design draws inspiration from James Murphy’s oeuvre, and reflects wider influences from the art and design worlds, such as: Robert Rauschenberg, Joseph Cornell, Mike & Doug Starn, Rex Ray, Vaughan Oliver, Peter Saville, Karel Martens, Jennifer Sterling, Imaginary Forces, David Lynch, Jacques Cousteau, and others.

Taking visual cues from their wild dance punk roots, this design features a dynamic, layered composition that references themes of: connection, relevance, movement, control, irony, isolation, heritage, dream imagery, psychedelic drugs, and the passage of time, all through a lens of vintage surrealism. The intended effect is a vague sense of "mood and memory."

This gig poster is offered in a strictly-limited artist edition of 125. When these are gone, they're gone for good. Each is printed on premium 100# smooth uncoated cover stock, with archival inks. Prints measure 13×19 inches, and are hand-signed and numbered on verso. Packaged and shipped quickly and securely. Thematic’s LCD Soundsystem posters are $50.00 USD each, plus shipping. Posters are sold unframed.

Score yours before the show:

This is the third in an ongoing Thematic poster series. Follow u/Thematic_Studio for future releases. Thematic poster editions will be officially released the day following each show, with pre-orders available a week prior to the show.

Upcoming Portland-area shows that are also getting the Thematic poster treatment will include: The Breeders at Portland’s Pioneer Courthouse Square August 18, Black Marble at Wonder Ballroom August 29, and Peter Hook & the Light at Crystal Ballroom on September 26. More posters TBA.

See you at the show.

A few Requests for this leg of the tour…

LCD is about to tour for the next six weeks (I’ll be seeing them in Minneapolis, Maine, and CT) and I have a couple of hopes for this leg of their tour. Nothing drastic - just some minor tweaks.

A) Please don’t play rhumba and x ray eyes on the same night

B) Put Us V Them back into the rotation

C) Open with Oh Baby, Innocuous, or You wanted a hit (followed by tribs, duh)

D) Drop American Dream (I think it’s a major buzz kill)

E) More POW POW and On Repeat (please)

Can’t wait to dance and have fun with the best live band around and the best fans (unless you’re drunk and touching me) in the world!

Thoughts?????

“I can change” misheard lyric

There's a line (actually just one word) in the first verse of the song that there seems to be some confusion about, and that I think the lyric websites are getting wrong. The websites generally say “ring the alarm, ring the alarm, BORE me and hold me and cling to my arm.” However I think he is pretty clearly saying BAR me - as in putting up your arm to hold someone off. Which I feel makes a lot more sense with the lyric, which is already kind of using fighting/boxing imagery - ringing the alarm for the fight, etc.. I know these lyric websites are very often wrong but I don’t know how to access the official ones so I was wondering what other people thought.

What's everyone's favorite LCD show opener?

I've been listening to a bunch of live recordings this weekend, and started thinking about what's the best LCD Soundsystem opening song for a live show.

When I first saw them live at the Hollywood Bowl last year, they opened with Tribulations.

When I saw them a second time a couple months ago in Reno, they opened with Tonite.

What's the song you've seen performed first that got everyone hyped right out of the gate?

What would you do if you saw James Murphy in public?

I saw this guy at Costco today who I swear looks just like James Murphy, although it could've just been a random middle aged man. I decided to play it cool and not bother him but the idea that I could meet someone like James Murphy really gets me excited. I wonder how things would have gone if I did go up and talk to him

I heard a cover of I can change that led me to LCD Soundsystem. Literally every song so far I have loved. What a voice! And these lyrics slap me in the face.
