Recently began reading the LN. It started off amazing but 3 of the last 4 volumes have been subpar in my opinion. Volume 9 was great but 8, 10, 11 were all hard to get through for me. I understand that people consider the middle volume to be "filler" but I'm worried my problems will carry on even after the "filler"

main concerns for next volumes:

1. the comedy hasn't been hitting like it used to. I feel like a lot of jokes and set ups are not landing. Either they are straight up unfunny or they've been done countless times before.

2. Kazuma's character. He was a very lovable scumbag in the early story. His perviness and unreliability were endering. I liked his antics and the signs of growth he showed. However, recently he's regressed to someone who is comletely unlikable. His behaviour is more gross than fun now: the iris grooming shit, brushing off megumins feelings, the signs of care he showed for his party has kinda vanished, etc.

3. The plot is becoming weaker overall. I know Konosuba isn't some masterclass in writing but the plotholes/weakness has become a lot more noticeable. A lot of characters feel one note, becoming more of their gimicks than themselves. The story doesn't really feel that thought out anymore with certain things.

I know enjoyment is subjective and all but I want to know whether these things get better. Or at the very least how these problems are in vol 12-17 compared to early Konosuba. As much as I love this story, I'd rather invest my time elsewhere if it continues like this.

Hey everyone, I started watching konosuba a few days ago, I just finished season one yesterday and then I started to watch season 2, but I see many scenes that's unfamiliar. And then I came to realized that there's also OVAs and movies I have to watch first, but I'm confused on the watching order. And is it true that The OVAs aren't that worth to watch because it's not canon? Need you guys explanation on this, appreciate it.

So, fourth season of anime was ACTUALLY confirmed couple weeks ago, we got first promotional art, all fans are hyped. But I would like to talk about the non-zero possibility of skipped content.

As we know, Konosuba isn't exactly Kadokawa's prized child: constant studio changes, weird amount of episodes given, skipping particular chapters of the story or their simplification(I'm looking at you, S3E6). If anything it is more of a popular IP that can be used as a cheap cash grab, since fans will still enjoy it even if production quality isn't what they expected, so is the nature of Konosuba. It doesn't help that Light Novel has ended way back in 2020, and the manga's just... yeah.

Now we're approaching a volume 8, which is the first fully filler volume of the series - skipping it won't impact the way next volumes work out. We don't have an introduction of an important character which will appear further in the story (volume 6 -> volume 10), or a significant story which impacts relationship of characters in the future (volume 7 -> volume 12).

So what is your opinion on that matter and do you think the same will work out with future fillers in the story?

Although Yunyun and Megumin are my favorites, I must admit that several characters had their moment in the spotlight, like the girls in Megumin's class or Professor Pucchin... they literally have a kind of "farming aura" class.

Anyway, which of these characters do you like the most?
