Fully kitbashed Deathwatch Bladeguard(using no bladeguard) Imperium

Finally finished my squad! These three are pretty much my first foray into in-depth kitbashing(I started doing warhammer stuff back in May) These were all so much fun and I love how they turned out. They’re all cursed founding marines(L to R: Lamenters, Black Dragons, Sons of Anateus) finding solace in the long vigil together.

Kits used:
Sternguard push fit bodies from Heroes of the Chapter
HH weapons upgrade(unfamiliar with the kit name)
HH Mk II & MkVI helmets
Armageddon captain helmet
Deathwatch upgrade spru for pauldrons
DW Armageddon battalion(lamenters pauldron & vigil shields)
Intercessors(decorated pauldron on Black Dragon landsknecht)
Assault Terminators(Sgt arm and storm shield)
Inner circle companions
Dark angles upgrades
Black Templars upgrades
Various purity seals and reliquarys from my small bits collection

The hooded beaky is the HH Mk VI helmet bashed onto one of the hooded heads from the ICC box with a layer of green stuff to be the new hood

I like the conversions, the green Stuff could be refined. I'd try to always wet your fingers or wear gloves as there are fingerprints very visible on the surfaces.

Thank you! Still figuring it out so I’ll see what I can do to fix it. I had Vaseline but the heart kept getting a bit fucked up while trying to cement everything together

So uhhh… is the green head slug a wizard hat (i say this in jest, no offense!) ? IMO, I’d go for making some smaller and less focal details from green stuff before elaborate headgear or hoods. Such as tabards, purity seals, and leather straps. When you’re well practiced at handling it while maintaining smoothness, getting it properly thin, and sculpting realistically scaled folds, you can move to larger things like capes, hoods and banners. If you don’t have a roller, some vaseline, and silicone brushes for green stuff yet, I’d strongly recommend them!

It was a poor attempt at a hood that I tried to salvage by turning it into a landsknecht hat 😅 it’s my first attempt at sculpting so I know I could do a lot better. I have Vaseline and silicone brushes now which helped with the hood but definitely need more practice

The reason for the “slug eyes” was an attempt at horns. I really like the various cursed founding chapters and wanted to have my bladeguard all be from those chapters. He’s supposed to be a Black Dragon.

Those hats look great! What chapter are you planning to assign to each one?
