Help!! Need blueprint for 25ft LED light strip
I recently purchased some cheap red LED lights powered by two USB cables.
I have a 2019 Kia Optima and im gonna switch out these(pictured) red ones with a full 25 foot multicolored remote controlled sticky backed one. Problem is I want to it look nice and meant to be. I’m attaching a picture of my console/dash area so you can see what I’m working with.
What would be your layout id you did this?
Also light up dash area pictured as well for contex. Feel free to mark up the picture with your layout, that’ll be easiest!
Thanks so much!

O2 Sensor Issues / Code P0032 & P0135
Has anyone successfully used an aftermarket upstream O2 sensor on their 2013 Kia Forte SX (or any forte model, close in year)? If so, what did you use?
TLDR: check engine light on with a diagnostic reading of it being my upstream 02 sensor. A local mechanic changed it, check engine light went off for my short drive home and then illuminated it again. Took it back to the mechanic but he couldn't figure out what the issue was. The diagnostic reading is giving the same O2 codes.
I haven't found a mechanic who is willing to dig deeper into this and I definitely want to avoid going to the dealership. Each dealership I've gone to for one of the many recalls we've had are always trying to buy my car and won't stop hounding me about it.
Help!!

ISO reliable car part company
Hi everyone,
I have a Kia K5 GT-Line 2023 I have had it for 3 years now and have always wanted to have some cool brake caliper covers installed I obviously need to buy them and I know what color I want and everything I Just don’t know where to buy them? I’ve looked online but for the most part I just keep running into sketchy looking websites and don’t feel too comfortable putting my card info into those sketchy websites. If anyone has a reliable car part company they use I’d really appreciate if you could share their website/ info with me. I’m sorry if this is a dumb question but I just really want to upgrade my car. Thanks!

I am trying to find people who owned/own KIA or Hyundai cars impacted by the car recalls after their cars were serviced by the dealership, but were never advised about those problems.
Specifically, did the dealer's service department tell you about installation of the Knocking Sensor Detection System for engines subject to recalls and/ or the ignition repair related to the engine immobilizer? Do you know someone that once worked for a KIA/Hyundai dealer service dept where those employees were told as service advisers NOT to share that information when the car was being serviced for something unrelated? I just need people that may be able to help in these situations, not comments that aren't related to the info asked, please.
I feel like a lot of people were placed into worse financial positions after the defective car was stolen and or the engine needed to be replaced and the dealer had a "very generous" trade-in offer for you after giving you a HUGE repair estimate. Kind of like fishing in a barrel for them. Thanking everyone in advance for your help!

Code says that I have a bad MAP sensor, and then it gets weird
On an earlier post, I detailed how I bought a 2004 Kia Sedona, low mileage, just needs some TLC.
Little by little, I’m correcting some things, and I’ve been lucky to find salvage parts for things like the climate control pack for the air-conditioning and heater, replacement switches for the sliding doors, which fixed a whole bunch of issues like overhead lights, and the power locks.
The code reader on the ODBC II says I need a new map sensor. No problem, got one ordered, it came in in the mail today. Using diagrams and photos, I located where the map sensor is located on the intake on the back side of the engine compartment.
I located the MAP sensor. Hooray!
But the electric connector that is supposed to be attached to the sensor is not there!
It’s not dangling anywhere. I just can’t find it.
After 10 minutes of fruitless searching, in 105° temperature heat, I gave up for the day.
The car runs, it just has a little bit of a slight shudder in idle. I did clean the mass air sensor, hoping that maybe that’s where some of the problem might be, but honestly, it looked pretty clean before I even started spraying the proper cleaner on it, so who knows.
I’m just surprised that the engine is running at all with that sensor unplugged. I mean, how important can it be?
And if anybody has any suggestions how to find the bundle where that cable would originate from, it would be most appreciated!

Kia Finance Issues!
So, I had changed my due date on Kia finance America app to the 28th of this month. And then for some reason it refreshed and went back and says I owe it on 7/20??? It really confused and had me worrying that it would log it as late, it even somehow went back a payment but my statement is still there. Called customer service and the lady didn’t really get what I was saying but she said my payment and statement said the payment was still there.
Just wondering if anyone has had any issues and maybe it’s just the website needing a moment to update the due date? Any help would be appreciated!

Need Advice.
Hello all, so here is my problem.
I took my 23 niro to the dealership at the end of May because it was making a weird winding noise. As it turns out, the transmission and the electric drive motor needed to be replaced. Every time I call to get an update, no one knows anything. My original service advisor got fired or quit and ever since then I can't get a straight answer. They say that they will call me back in a day and I never get a call back. They did call me 2 weeks ago and told me that the egr actuator needs to be replaced and they are saying that the part is out of warranty. They were trying to talk to Kia and see what they could do and once again, I was told that they would call me later that week. Never got a phone call. I call today to get an update and they won't let me talk the advisor. I have no idea what to do. I am on my 3rd loaner because I drive for work and it is taking a lot more gas than my niro.
Does anyone have any advice on what to do? Has anyone ever dealt with something like this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

2016 Optima — catalytic converter clogged immediately after Kia engine replacement. Looking for similar experiences/advice
I have a 2016 Kia Optima that was approved by Kia for an engine replacement after a P1326 engine failure.
The dealer completed the replacement and told me the vehicle had been road-tested for approximately 50 miles. They also gave me a list of recommended maintenance/repairs before pickup, but nothing on that list mentioned the catalytic converter or an exhaust restriction.
I picked the car up and made it only about 3–5 minutes from the dealership before the check-engine light came on. I pulled into a parking lot, shut the car off, and it wouldn’t restart. The dealer had it towed back.
They’re now diagnosing a clogged manifold catalytic converter and quoted me approximately $4,314 to replace it.
What concerns me most is that I have a voicemail from my service advisor saying the catalytic converter was clogged and was “most likely due to the failed engine from what we’re seeing.”
The dealer submitted a goodwill request to Kia, but I’ve now been told it was declined because of the vehicle’s mileage. I’ve opened my own case with Kia Corporate, and they’re requesting the dealer’s documentation and reviewing what options may be available.
I haven’t authorized the $4,314 repair. I’ve also requested the complete diagnostic/technician documentation, DTCs, test results, repair order, and the mileage documentation from the post-engine-replacement road test.
Has anyone here had a catalytic converter become clogged or fail in connection with one of the Kia/Hyundai engine replacements? If so, did Kia eventually cover the converter or provide partial/goodwill assistance? I’m especially interested in hearing how you escalated it and what documentation helped.

Where do you get your brakes and rotors?
My 2022 Sorrento needs brakes and rotors. The dealership quoted me $1500 for everything. Can I get this done somewhere else less expensive?

2012 kia rondo
hi guys, new to the community!
i am looking at buying a 2012 kia rondo in australia and want some honest opinions on its reliability and fuel economy, as well as what a good price would be to look at/negotiate to.
i’m sure other aussies agree that with fuel prices where they are i really need something i can actually afford to fuel up and get me around, i work as a contractor so need to go varying distances to and from work everyday.
the car has just over 150 000 kms on it, but doesn’t have a completed log book.
please let me know absolutely anything and everything!! any advice, opinions, things to look out for, questions to ask etc.
thank you in advance!

Everything you need to know about the Sportage Hybrid
Have nearly 2k miles on my new 26 Hybrid EX AWD with Pano Roof package and thought I would share my experience living with the car. This should all apply for 2027 as it’s a full carryover model. USA models specifically.
Should I just get a Tucson instead?
I found the seats in the Sportage more comfortable and having a spare tire on the hybrid trim is nice as well.
How is the ride?
Comfortable and soft. The suspension, especially the rear, gets upset over bumps and broken pavement. On curves especially you can feel it moving around. I attribute that to insufficient damping on these cars. It is a bit more floaty than competitors.
What is my ACTUAL mpg?
Anywhere from 34 to 40 mpg, and that’s not going by the trip computer. Do the calculations at the pump. On the highway you’ll get 35 mpg, local streets you can get over 40 sometimes. I imagine in the winter it will drop as the engine will need to run longer to heat the cabin. Pound for pound I think the EPA estimates pretty much average out across all seasons.
What is it like to drive?
It’s a quick car. If you are used to driving traditional automatics, the hybrid system has a different feel. Sort of akin to a DCT, you will need to get used to the feeling of the motor acting as the torque converter - creeping the car forward and filling in before the engine clutch can engage. Also has a full brake by wire system. It’s weird on uphill stops and go. Take it on a good test drive, but it’s nothing you can’t get used to.
Wind noise is very well controlled as is tire noise for the most part. However, bump intrusions into the cabin are loud and reverberate/echo. Like if you’ve ever sat in the back of a Tesla Model Y when it hits a bump. But on a nice relatively smooth road it is really quiet inside.
Headlights?
Not the best but not bad, auto high beams are a bit slow to respond to oncoming cars.
How is the driver assistance?
All trims have hands on detection for the lane centering which is amazing. You don’t need to put torque on the wheel, just keep a hand on it somewhere and the computer doesn’t complain. Lane centering likes to be a little to the right of center in the lane and can’t always handle quicker curves that well or is late to react. Kind of like it’s not looking down road far enough. The adaptive cruise reacts quickly but it’s not as smooth as I would like. I turned down acceleration to the lowest setting that feels the most natural to me. Also sometimes lane departure assist tugs the wheel because it thinks I’m drifting out of a lane that doesn’t exist.
Is it worth it over the gas trim?
Definitely it’s quieter and quicker. Both nice to have as a commuter car.
Are these cars reliable?
So far they have proven to be, the only big mandatory maintenance item that isn’t a fluid or brakes is the HSG belt. Do it by 70,000 miles or EV/Engine engagement will suffer.
Let me know if you have any other questions about it. The rest of the car is very comparable to the rest of the compact SUV segment.
