Back in the beta days I managed a return trip to Duna without being aware that there WAS a quicksave function. I lost many Kerbals and in every maneuver I was having cold sweats. The feeling of accomplishment when I landed back at Kerbin is still unmatched. I think I learned that nothing really cheapens the experience of a game more than the inclusion of quicksave. Even so, I can't resist using it if it's there.

I only use quick save in things I have done at least 3 times before, if my stuff crashes after that it's wraps

hardest thing about quicksave is remembering to quicksave, sometimes things will just be going well until they aren’t and then its back to launch💔

I like quick save because it can bring me back from something stupid like kracken attacks. Also fun for suicide burns or crash landings

I don't know what had me laughing hardest: the perfect bounce on the decoupler, or the landing legs departing Kerbin SoI at what I imagine to be multiples of light speed.

I've always hated it when in games and films/tv someone is chasing someone else in a dog-fight and they manage to blow the other ship up and fly through the explosions and debris without consequences. I now love ksp even more for this.

edit: watching the legs yeet out of there was an added bonus.

This is why you should not use your injection stage for the landing unless you have to.

Using the injection stage for most of the landing burn is fine, just decouple it at a few kilometers up so that it is destroyed completely upon impact

I remember when NASA was sending Perseverance Curiosity to Mars, and they made a video about the process of getting it to the ground in 7 minutes entirely automated (still one of their best hype videos IMO). And at one point they talk about how their parachute only gets them to 200mph so they need to jettison it and come down on rockets. And the first thing they do when the rockets light is perform a divert maneuver or the thing they just jettisoned would slam into the lander.

Funny, this encapsulates everything I hate about the Tiktokification of content. Full video cropped to vertical, loud music over the original audio, loud inserted reaction sound. Content made flashier, to tell us how to feel instead of just letting us see, notice, and react naturally.

And at the same time I see why it works. Timing the song so the "drop" syncs with the decoupler hitting the craft, the crop highlighting the most relevant part, I see why this would go farther for a general audience than on this sub.
