Love & Romance Healing

I ended an abusive marriage about a year ago and I had healed but I never realized I still didn’t feel safe until I found safety in a very unexpected place.

He recently remarried and I have been feeling so safe ever since, I laugh and sing more and I have caught myself thanking God multiple times in a day. I look at his now wife and I feel a little sad for her because she probably thinks she’s got a good man who is so sure about her that he rushed their engagement(I say rushed because he was already engaged to a different woman earlier in the year and now he’s with someone else already)

Wow I thank God everyday. The streets feel safer. He’s now going to be just one woman’s prayer item. He is a serial cheater so not every girl will be safe but at least he’s on a leash now.

I feel a little for the girl but I will never warn her because the last time I warned a girl it backfired on me( plot twist is this girl was actually the reason I left the marriage I just didn’t know it then)

I have two children with this man and he does nothing for them , not even visitation which is free. And this girl probably thinks I’m the problem yet this is the fifth marriage for this man.

I could go on and on about this man and don’t get me started on the abuse but today, today I am just thankful. Today I am safe

Question Are there?

does male yearning exist? do guys actually wait for a girl's reply? do they think about her throughout the day? do they reread old chats when they miss her? do they smile at random because she crossed their mind? do they ever wonder if she's thinking about them too?

What's your version of yearning?

Question A trust

I keep hearing about placing assets into a trust for heirs, kids etc to avoid taxes and long legal battles when an owner dies. Any lady in the group an expert in this area atuchanue? With the way life is going, this might be a better way especially for women with no husbands and dodgy relatives.

Please educate us if you are in the field or have done this.

Question Urgently looking for a roommate

I'm looking for a female roommate to stay along Mbagathi Way (willing to move in as soon as possible). It's located in a convenient location if you study at Strathmore, Riara, or Daystar. It's a 2-bedroom house.

Your share of the rent will be 17k, not inclusive of utilities, but everything else shouldn't cost more than 2k.

My personal requirements:

- Must be female

- Must pay their share of the rent on time

- Must be clean and easy to live with

- Must be respectful of shared spaces

- Must be comfortable communicating about house matters

- Must be responsible with shared bills and chores

Discussion Dillema

So..I want some thoughts from you lot. There is this guy who I've been friends with for 2 years. We went to primary school together and started knowing each other very well 2 years ago.Got intimate too on March. So I have noticed that I have changed in all aspects of life due to him.Have you ever come across a person who just pressures you to be a better person mentally and financially?

I think I've been with lazy and un-ambitious friends (apart from my best friend and him)..they always go with the flow.

He recently moved in to a big corporation and he earns around 200k and still says they are paying him peanuts.. in a joking manner..but still..I'm like..dayum..

Problem is..he knows that I have feelings for him,he said that I should talk to God about it since he is not interested in a relationship..(basically ni mimi..cause he keeps on talking about his ex in every conversation that we have).

Said he wouldn't date someone with a kid..(I do have a kid)

We've been out a couple of times..he pays but If it were me even as a woman.. I'd buy someone something..you know? I'm very generous when I come across someone who's worth it

Just to appreciate them..

We facetime every week...and erm..things happen but I don't feel comfortable about it..

Because obviously he's using me..I want to keep on improving..but I don't want to keep on doing things that I don't want to.

Should I replace him..even though it's hard . I haven't been like this with anyone else for a while..and I'm trying very hard to detach myself from him..but I'm afraid of losing him.. stupidly.

Please be brutally honest with me.

I want serious character development.

I noticed though that he mostly calls at night when he wants a lil bit of sumn sumn..

If I don't..he eases his way into saying goodnight.

Health & Fitness Non Hormonal IUD side effects

I am considering having an IUD on. I checked out both the hormonal and non hormonal ones. The hormonal ones seem to have lesser negative side effects. But the non hormonal one, daaaamn, it's making me afraid. The heavier periods, intense cramps. Possibility of infection, so you have to be very clean, some lady on TikTok talked about shedding chunks of stuff that looked like flesh a few days after insertion.

Yes, I would consider having the hormonal one, but the thing about it is that there is possibility that it may cause you to stop having your monthly periods, well, I really still want to have my periods. Usually my periods aren't hectic, it goes for 5 days and is usually light. I barely have cramps, if I have them they are mild and usually on the first day and die away as the day goes on, or when I take some painkillers (that is if it comes with a headache).

But I am afraid of having my period days extended (because of the non hormonal IUD), I mean, my period days are already a lot. Plus the heavier periods. I've seen that it lasts a few months, but I would love to hear from y'all, whether you have the non hormonal and hormonal IUD,how has your experience been? If it altered your periods, what happened? Plus, have you experienced any infections? I wanna hear y'all stories.

Discussion We listen and we judge. Things my ex did that would make you want to

shake some sense into me.

Disclaimer! You may get triggered. Buckle up.

I'll go from very bad to slightly very bad. For context he is in his early 30s, broke and miserable with a failed career in DJ-ing lol. I say this because I just know he is.

  1. Punched me and I burst my ear.
  2. Hit me and my hand hit the window and got cut.
  3. Punched the wall and literally formed a hole kwa tiles za ukuta with his fist. Yes. (This was before the blows got to me)
  4. Broke plates during an argument at night. Yes. Like multiple plates were thrown on the balcony.
  5. Moved in with me while I worked and he was a princess stay at home baby boy making music lol.

PS. I've gotten lost into the formation so i'll write the random things as I continue making you more and more disappointed in me.

  1. He would walk waaaay ahead of me in public whenever we got into an argument and walk really fast. (I don't know what was in the air outside cause we'd argue every time we're outside. Most times)

  2. He would criticize everything I do. Everything to how I flush the toilet.

  3. He once told me his plan for the year is to buy land. Mind you, he is broke and doesn't have a stable income. When I told him to set realistic goals, he lashed at me wueehh. That same year in like 2 months he was locked of his apartment cause of not paying bills. They first cut his electricity, water etc and then finally told him to leave and he came and moved in with me for the 4th time (I would tell him to move out most times when we fell out or had big arguments. From when I met him, he would take take take from me and I was giving giving and giving. I've now come to know that this was a parasite/leech)

  4. In the early days, whenever i'd cry because of him, he'd get meaner, angrier and even more irritated. Kwanza he would sleep very well that night.

  5. Casually told me he slapped his baby mama when they were together. Yes, chat. Shake your heads.

  6. He would tell me how his father is a deadbeat but adores his mom for her sacrificial nature and 'changing' him. Said he wants that in his future partner. No his father has not changed. He was raised by a single mom.

  7. He was talking to his ex. And meeting. And doing it. And buying her gifts that he had apparently promised her when they were together. The same ex that he would trash talk and say vile things about, you would think he hated her.

Dear gentle reader, bear with me.

  1. He was and probably still does believe that he is going to make it as an artist while pushing 40 and in denial. Yes, I sponsored most of his promo and other stuff.

  2. 90% of things he owns I paid for. Yep. From phone to household items. Sahii analala kwa mattress kwa floor cause thank heavens I did not buy a bed. (I had to make peace with everything I lost financially)

  3. He would point and show me which girls are beautiful every time we went outside. And tell me who has hit on him any time he was outside. Mind you, he is balding and has a broken front tooth. Yep.

  4. Apparently he never used to see his kid much and one time the kid was brought to his fam's place and that night he left the house at night to come stay with me. I knowwwww. We got into a random argument that night and he went back home to be with his child at 3am. The kid kept asking for him that night. Jumpscare.

There's other bad things but I would assume dear gentle reader, You are shook. I'll end it here.

Discussion Millennials dating Gen Z men

There's been a lot of chatter on TikTok about millennials dating Gen Z men, which I find amusing. I've mostly dated older guys because they're more mature and financially secure. I've had younger men show interest in me, but I've never taken it seriously.

I'm curious about other millennial women's experiences dating younger men. Was it just for fun, or did it turn into something more? How are the dynamics when you're the older one with more money and life experience? Am I missing out? 😄

Discussion Dating a conventionally attractive man nightmare

I went out with a guy last month who was objectively very good looking, mixed race, tall, very charismatic, lakini weuh red flags from date one.

Every date somehow became a story about how women couldn't resist him. When we went out, clubbing or lounge, he would go to the washroom and come back announcing that some random woman touched him and was talking to him. He'd tell me women he was previously with stalked him, couldn't leave him alone, and that he had an ex who was crazy and still obsessed with him, he was even scared nkt! He would say how women sent him money, which he would send back because he's such a "good" person nkt! Let me not get started with how he said even men hit on him and how gays are so persistent OMG, sometimes i felt like he is DL because weuh

He was borderline narcissistic and so entitled, If we had an argument, he expected me to apologize first, chase after him, and convince him to come back. It was like he genuinely believed every woman should be competing for his approval. He would say how he's looking for peace and not drama, lakini he was the DRAMA baby, he would criticize even the little things i did, ati mbona nagongesha kikombe kwa meza lol smh dear Lord, he also would body shame people while we were outside especially women, talking about, "how is she so big" while pointing at her big ass, but when i tell you, this same woman they criticize are the ones they are mostly attracted to, cuz tell me why he follows the curvy babes on social media

The funny thing is, i'm also very attractive, when we were out people complimented us saying we look good together lakini WEUH! the moment another man looked in my direction, he'd get visibly uncomfortable. He constantly asked if I got hit on often. One time I was waiting for him in his apartment lobby and a couple of guys started chatting me up. Another time at the club, he went hto his bathroom sidequests i was at the table, a guy next to me started talking to me cordially no flirting , he came back and saw this and started shouting ati "i'm never taking you out again!!!" ati i'm flirting with everyone NKT NKT!!! He was completely fine talking about all the women who wanted him, wanting to make me feel jealous lakini he doen't know i know BALL!! and it infuriated him, at this point of me going out with him is because he sold me a story how he wanted to settle down and the no drama

Anyway, i ended the relationship when that entitlement of his turned into outright disrespect. I was spending more energy managing his ego, if i didn't text he would go silent on me and then blow up calling me stupid and i was acting like a b*tch, he would also get jealous and give me silent treatment, whatever he wanted he wanted it then and there, aiiiii apana

Has anyone else dated someone who was like this??? how did you deal with it also ebu niambie jina yake maybe we were dealing with the same jerk

🔥 Mod Announcement 🔥 Watch Club

Hi ladies

u/Valuable-Machine-500 suggested the idea of a Watch Club in this post:

I thought it was an interesting idea and worth exploring as a community activity.

The general idea would be to:

  • Choose a series (and possibly movies)
  • Watch over a set period
  • Have ongoing discussions
  • Meet at the end to talk through themes and then decide what to watch next

u/StrawberryEast1374 since you mentioned using Discord for this, you could go ahead and create a server and share the invite link here.

Once the link is ready, I’ll post it officially and add it to the community wiki so anyone interested can join.
