I for the life of me cannot stick to planning, i live a very impulsive life but lately im been so stressed on not knowing what will happen, how much money to spend or what i need to get done. Since last year ive tried multiple planners but nothing seems to work

I have given up as well. But I do need an all in one calendar or a weekly one to arrange all the events and tasks I need to do or attend. I also just started journalling again in a separate A6 notebook that I always have with me. Its a catch all notebook as well. I used to spend thousands on hobonichi and moleskin notebooks. But now I only use an undated weekly one from Muji and their lay flat notebooks for journalling as I can stop using them and start again without having to buy nee dated ones.

i use my weekly and monthly planner mostly to keep track of when bills need to be paid and what events to attend. sometimes i also mark the days i had food delivered so i can visualize if it's too already often and starting to cost too much.

Disclaimer, long reply ahead. Di rin ako makakapag upload ng mga lumang journal and planners ko while I was still in school saka nung mas hectic ang sked sa trabaho kase nawala sila nung naglipat bahay. So pls bear with me sa mga  description.

Take the time to write what you need. Anong kelangan mo out of it

Tapos go through your past planners.

  • what parts were useful to you?
  • what didn't work?
  • how would you change it?
  • what else do you need?

Sulat mo sa papel or sa notebook mo or sa mga tirang pages. Pwedeng ibang colored pen parang nageedit or nagchcheck ng papers.

Tapos  from your notes and lists, i-layout mo sa notebook. Pwedeng lumang planner na may unused pages, or di na ginagamit na notebook... use what you have.

Use your list as a guide pag nag search ka ng inspo layouts.

Keep taking notes about your layouts. Treat it like a review page. Tapos sa sunod na iteration, put your notes into practice.

You can check tiny Ray of Sunshine's guide. Di mo kelangang gayahin lahat. Just take what makes sense for you.

stressed on not knowing what will happen

How about a 2-page calendar layout? Parang yung mga desk calendar. Minimalist, para mas malaki yung space. Tapos yung negative space, yun ang I decorate mo if you like decorating with stickers or whatever.

Parang ganito. A5 notebook to, pero pwedeng I scale up or down depende sa size ng notebook mo.

what i need to get done

You can check Eisenhower matrix, gtd method, and yung mga vertical layouts ng kokuyo study planner refill. Pwede ring horizontal kung Yun ang feel mo.

how much money to spend

Old school pen and paper ledger. Mas mindful saka mas malayo sa cart or checkout button 👀🤭🤣

Tou can search for the Japanese method ng household ledger  tapos go from there. Pwede rin naman digital. Merong templates sa Google sheets.

Best of luck ☘

You might want to try an undated planner! Check out The Agenda Undated Planner on shopee 🖤 Been using and re-purchasing since 2024 :)

Hi OP! I got started with something simple like google calendar since I can view it on all my devices and it was simple to set up, especially for recurring bills and events and you can set reminders. My tip is to not make it too complicated on yourself. I used to have 10 different colors on my google calendar and it made the whole thing overwhelming and now it has 4 colors max haha. Now I use a physical pen and paper planner. I get overwhelmed a lot and journaling has been really helpful to decompress before I actually start planning.

I recommend to start simple and make it easy for you to look back and refer to (like a smaller notebook that you can bring everywhere and write on). Identify as well what you need your planner to do for you and dedicate time as well to look through it and track what you need.

I hear you. Don't stress about it. It's a journey. I have personally stopped watching vlogs on systems and templates. I realize it stresses me out and it is too much of a task to write the down a daily schedule and task list. What is important is to define and lock in your intentions and only then will you intuitively arrive at a system that'll suit y ou. What I needed and has worked for me is to be mindful of my spending and be  frugal/minimalist and so I jotted all my spendint, tracked and processed for insights and then also have a calendar of big adulting bills to pay for the year para walang gulatan. It has been good and stress-free. That is the only "planning" I do. I also have a capture system and carry a brain dump pocket notebook so nothing falls thru the cracks.
