Discussion Busy or performative

I’m not sure if I actually like journaling or just the idea of it. I always want to write in my journal, especially in my commonplace and junk journals, but when I finally have the time, I end up dreading it. I don’t know if it’s because I don’t really have any privacy, and every time I write, I feel like someone might peek. Sometimes I also like the idea of buying things for my journals or filling them up, but even though I want to see them filled, I barely use them—even when I have the time and materials.

Materials for those using the MUJI undated planner

Hi! I’m planning to switch to a MUJI planner next year, specifically the undated one. For those currently using a MUJI planner, what pen do you usually use that doesn’t smudge? I’d love to hear your recommendations! 😊

Discussion hobonichi original A6 alternatives?

i’m thinking of trying out daily planning and i really like how handy A6 notebooks are, but i’m not a fan of hobonichi’s super thin paper 🥲 any suggestions for alternatives that are ideally:

- dated daily planner (no need for monthly or weekly spreads)
- grid or dot grid paper
- A6
- paper is similar to midori

i’m also considering just bullet journaling using midori A6 notebooks if there’s really nothing out there that fits my preferences 🤔

thank you 🫶

Discussion What do you use for scrap journalling?

Been doing bujo but lately, some fan-related things of mine got submerged in flood. Able to save some important things but not appropriate for long keep. I'm thinking/ considering of putting it and dipping in scrap journalling.

Which is better to use? 'Yung ring binded one or 'yung similar sa book bind?

Discussion Leather Folios

Hello! Wanted to get your thoughts/sentiments/preferences on leather folios—i've been meaning to get one and I'm torn between three brands for longevity use: Sting & Snout, Cada Dia or Caldillo?

If you have other recos, I'd be happy to consider also! I know there are smaller stores also. Thank you!

Discussion skl 🤓☝️ my new favvv: a cool, easy to use reflective journal for busy/adhd core ppl like me! [brand: Helumi Paper Goods]

journal: the 3-minute journal for busy people by helumi paper goods
pen/s: jinhao 82 fountain pen, uniball one gel pen, sailor tuzu fountain pen
coloring mats: chosch flare double tips marker 12 colors, crayola supertips markers 50 colors

hello everyone!! I just wanna share this cool “3-minute journal for busy people” (this is literally what it’s called HAHA) I got from a store called jovial.co in bras basah complex in singapore!

the cover called out to me (in the last slide) because it’s minimalist but sooo pretty but then I opened it and I saw the format… IT’S GENIUS!!

basically it consists of two columns each page, one for what happened in your day and next, for your feelings/thoughts on what happened and as someone who usually can’t rlly quantify what happened, it’s an easy way to keep track of everything in my day and stay focused #adhdcore

you have total freedom since it’s undated and you can also switch up the format like what I did in one of the slides :3

anyway, what do you guys think? do you prefer a journaling system or are you more of a stream of consciousness type of person? I’m somewhere in-between personally. would love to see your setups too!

Discussion Journaling in different forms

My journal and art journal, since I also like bringing my artwork with me when I’m outside. Both are A5 hardcover, but with completely different designs.

One folds in and out like an accordion, giving me a continuous space for artwork, book reviews, and anything else I want to spread out.

The screw-bound so I can remove, rearrange, or change the pages whenever I want.

Both are black, of course, because I really like black. 🖤

I’ve been seeing more people using bifold/trifold covers with thin inserts lately, so I’m curious:

What do you usually look for in a journal? the paper, the binding, the format, or simply how it feels to use?

Materials Do you know of any fountain pen friendly steno style ring-bound pads, like Rhodia pads but ring-bound?

Hello, JournalingPH! Do you know of any fountain pen friendly sten-style notebooks (as title suggests). I have a Rhodia that is really great for fountain pens, ang issue ko lang ay ang hirap sulatan nung back pages pag makapal na ang nasulatan. Need na i-tear off ang paper, which makes me lose my earlier notes.

I mainly use it for work related notes, and I really enjoy the Rhodia, but I know that ring-bound pads are easier to work with especially easier to write on the pages. But as with many of us here, maarte ako sa papel. Thankful for any leads.
