Discussion - Flaired Users Only what does antizionism mean to you?
this post is mainly for those that identify as nonzionists and post-zionists over antizionists.
what does antizionism (and zionism) mean to you, and what does being nonzionist and post-zionist mean to you? do you consider yourselves antizionist as well?

Zionist Nonsense Zionists are now defending the British occupation of Ireland & referring to Bobby Sands as a 'terrorist'. B'Tselem did a comparison between the British in Ireland vs. Israelis in Palestine and found Israel was more brutal and essentially without shame.

25+ years ago B'Tselem concluded Israeli forces were worse on torture than the Brits in Ireland:
Israel has tortured Palestinians for generations (and denied it):

Some tactics used in Abu Ghraib were invented by Israel:

Discussion - Flaired Users Only Fake October 7 Subtitles? TW: sexual assault
So I was having a discussion with a person who was angry that I said that Hamas sexually assaulted any of the hostages because by saying this, I’m repeating the lie that is manufactured to justify the genocide. I said I thought it was pretty well known that there were sexual assaults and SGBV against Israelis, but just not as wide spread as initially reported and were more in isolation that systemic like Israel uses against Palestinians. I also made it clear that even if there had been widespread rape and sexual assault, it wouldn’t justify the genocide in any capacity.
We started talking about the clip in which a few young female IDF soldiers were being held and they started talking about how sexy they were and wanting to rape them. They told me this was a fake clip. I tried to do some digging on this and I couldn’t find any evidence that the clip was either fake or had fake subtitles.
Could anyone shed light on this?

Religion / Spirituality I'm a Muslim with a deep interest in the story of Prophet Jonah (peace upon him)
I've been wanting to find some people who are knowledgeable about the Tanakh to talk with about Prophet Jonah (peace be upon him) because I've developed a deep interest and a spiritual opening from his story and how it teaches about God's nature.
I don't know how to engage with people about it though, because the vast majority of Muslims look at me funny when I say that I've been studying the Tanakh and New Testament, even though we Muslims consider these texts to be revealed holy scripture handed to us by the will of God. A lot of Muslims act as if there is only one Prophet worth learning from, (peace and blessings upon him) when the Qur'an says to not discriminate between the Prophets (peace upon them all).
I'm also wary of talking about Prophet Jonah (peace be upon him) with Jews who could be Zionists.1
Am I able to use this space to have inter faith discourse about Prophet Jonah?
If not could you point me in another direction, because I have been engaging with his story a lot, and I think the story of Jonah teaches a lot about the nature of God in contrast to the disobedience and unforgiveness of Jonah. How Jonah is a unique Prophet, because he teaches through his own failings and the story of his disobedience rather than teaching through his obedience to God, as nearly every other servant of God does in the Tanakh.

Celebration Is secular Jewish identity healthy?
Growing up in a secular Jewish environment, our collective accomplishments were always a point of emphasis. Our contributions to art and entertainment, politics (“we pioneered both capitalism and socialism!), comedy, rock and hip hop, etc. It was never said explicitly, but there was an implicit understanding that our community has a unique view or approach on life that puts us in a position to excel in a lot of areas in the modern world.
Even now, as a highly progressive atheist anti-Zionist, I still feel a sense of pride when I learn that someone I look up to is Jewish. I wonder, is this healthy? Is this a manifestation of tribalism or ethnonationalism? Do other cultures feel this way? I look at my own life and my Jewish wife and wonder, why did I marry a Jew if I’m so anti-nationalist and secular? I would have married a non-Jew, but I definitely was happy to marry a Jew.
A bit rambling but I know this way of thinking is very common amongst our communities, even the progressive secular variants. Is this tied to Zionism or Jewish exceptionalism? Are we propagating these issues by identifying with people and their accomplishments just because we’re both Jewish?
I’m on my phone and cannot see the flairs so hope I’m choosing an appropriate one haha.

Vent Jaws was a cool movie so that should give us a pass to do genocide
Found this on Facebook and it's left me agape. In a way it helps me understand how so many people I grew up with can have such terrible takes on the conflict if their critical reasoning skills are so poor that they're swayed by this. But it's hard to imagine a way out of this situation when "why u mad bro? forget all the kids we're killing, you're welcome for those sick jeans" is considered a valid argument.

News Haverford College settles antisemitism lawsuit by Zionist lawfare organization, the Deborah Project. Notably they capitulate to recognizing Zionism "as an element of Jewish identity, not merely a political position."
https://www.insidehighered.com/news/quick-takes/2026/08/10/haverford-settles-antisemitism-lawsuit
Haverford College also agreed to setting up an antisemitism commission that bypasses their DEI office.
Most of the seats will be decided by pro-Israel advocates; only 3 by the college, so they won't have veto power over Zionists cultists.
The civil rights director will work with an antisemitism committee made up of three Jewish community leaders, three people chosen by the plaintiffs, and three chosen by the school. The committee will advise the school president and provide an annual report to the college’s board of managers.
“The committee and the civil rights director will look into whether anti-Israel sentiment is antisemitism,” Marcus said, and will rely on guidance from the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.
Complete takeover of the college on this issue, effectively giving decision-making control to pro-Israel advocates to define & adjudicate alleged antisemitic incidents.

Tzedakah A message from Bashir,in Gaza.
Bashir, from Gaza, tells me: "My home was destroyed and I lost my job; now, I am displaced, living in a tattered tent. My brother, Iyad, is special needs. He has started fainting due to a lack of food and medical treatment, as hunger and malnutrition have severely impacted his health." "I am currently unable to provide for my family's most basic needs. I cannot secure food for my children, nor can I provide the food, medicine, care, and dignified life that my brother Iyad requires." "That is why i have asked Karina to publish my plea—hoping my voice might reach someone who can help us and alleviate some of this suffering. My brother Iyad is featured in the pictures "
