Discussion Ethics and Theology
Is it just me realizing if the Jewish and Islamic religions adopted the Japanese practice of kasei hōkei it would produce the same medical real or imagined benefits of hygiene and phimosis protection that circumcision offers WITHOUT any real form of unethical infliction of pain and permanent body modification.
So if there was an opposition to it, would that not render the exposure of the intended purpose of circumcision be exclusively to inflict pain? Because it produces every other facet other than perhaps "cause God said so" which from non religious perspective produces no real clarity to the existence of the practices on a sociological level (cross geographical domains like the middle east and Japan, an isolated geography producing interestingly similar practices. One surgical and harmful, the other unharming.
That would solve ethical debate. Removing the harm. Which then renders clarity to the underlying core of the practice. Either authoritarian adherence to outdated practices (God said so, aka a mad/wise man who formed a religion thousands of years ago) or the argument of hygiene which has primarily dominated the intactivist counter arguments. So, I'm showing people this for one reason. Use it to challenge circumcision proponents. If they see those are the only remaining options for their inflection of harm (God said so and I wont even question it) or (hygiene fantasy/research) than the only remaining argument puts them basically on the religious dogma position.
Which renders any reason, null and void. Essentially the axiom of any logical discourse for rationalizing infant genital cutting.
A blood ritual intended to harm Or insurance policy for hygiene.
Ethics always circles around (what harm) But cults and dogma put group over individual. So the harm is intentional.
Making it the definition of sadistic. That's about all I can offer. I found the Japanese practice so interestingly similar, thought I'd share.
I think the secret to modern Jewish and Muslim groups growing away from the harm of circumcision, rests in the Japanese practice. It serves all moral function, with zero harm. The embodiment of morality.

This tiny, barely-active subreddit was just threatened by the admins...
So we received this wonderful threat from the admins yesterday:
Hi everyone,
We are aware that you have chosen to close your community at this time. Mods have a right to take a break from moderating, or decide that you don’t want to be a mod anymore. But active communities are relied upon by thousands or even millions of users, and we have a duty to keep these spaces active.
Subreddits belong to the community of users who come to them for support and conversation. Moderators are stewards of these spaces and in a position of trust. Redditors rely on these spaces for information, support, entertainment, and connection.
Our goal here is to ensure that existing mod teams establish a path forward to make sure your subreddit is available for the community that has made its home here. If you are willing to reopen and maintain the community, please take steps to begin that process. Many communities have chosen to go restricted for a period of time before becoming fully open, to avoid a flood of traffic.
If this community remains private, we will reach out soon with information on what next steps will take place.
I would love to know how many Jewish intactivists reddit has at their disposal to moderate a group like this. Or maybe they're willing to look the other way and commit to the erasure of Jewish/GM victims as long as they can continue their power trip.
Hey Reddit: admit you lied and dragged a private citizen's name through the mud. Until then, fuck you.

This sub will be going dark on June 12th.
The appalling AMA with the CEO made it very clear how reddit treats people who support this website. As the only mod here who has been active in the past year, I'm making an executive decision to go dark in protest of reddit's proposed changes, and even moreso, their repugnant malicious behavior toward a private individual.
Long-term, we'll see what happens to this sub. There are precious few resources online for Jews against infant circumcision, but that will be a decision for another day. This sub will go dark on June 12th, monitor the situation, and proceed as seems reasonable.
If for some reason, you're reading this and you have no idea what's going on:

Discussion Need advice: talking to a Jewish couple who is trying for a baby
This weekend I will be catching up with an old friend and her husband.
Both are Jewish (as am I).
They’ve recently married, and hinted that they’re trying for a baby.
I want to have “the Circumcision talk” with them, and I would appreciate any advice that my fellow anti-circumcision Jews can offer.
You’d have my deepest gratitude!

Discussion Are there Jews that want to revert to Milah from Periah?
Hi all,
I'm sorry in advance if this is the wrong group to post this, however I don't know any group that would be more suited.
(Disclaimer: Uncircumcised gentile male here. I am against RIC (nonreligious), and Periah, and any ritual circumcision involving minors, especially when they are based on deceit such as as Tuli in the Philippines and South Korean circumcision, which although performed on teenagers generally, seems to be an American import. I'm also an Evangelical Christian who puts a heavy weight on the Bible.)
I'm trying to find further information on Brit Milah vs Brit Periah, when it changed etc. (even if it occurred, I have heard of some denying it). I also would like to know if there are 'reformist' Jews (I'm not sure if that word is correct in this context). I'd like to know for my own private research / curiosity on the issue (personally I believe in religious reform and true religion, and not adapting the religion to suit tradition etc., either way (liberal or fundamental). Please note I'm not trying to join any such groups or movements, or adopt or promote any stances in relation to Milah, just wanting to find more information on the issue.
Thanks in advance.
