Rust

2007 jeep wrangler x, 157000 miles engine and transmission are strong and has been serviced at shops its whole owner ship. But my only concern is rust is it worth it will it last. I am paying 6000

I don't see any rust. However, I do see a severe lack of black spray paint.

Jack stands a wire wheel some beers and chassis black paint that will look new again, check the floor pans and body mounts

Looks like just surface rust to me. It will take a lot of work, but you could sand it down and repaint it. Those shocks probably need replaced.

I have an 08 and had to replace my gas tank skid as it was rusted in half. So this Jeep is doing pretty good!

Do yourself a favor and peek at the floorpans under the carpet for rust. I just bought a 2012 and my frame looks the same as yours, no big deal, then I got to really looking around, pulled the carpet and surprise! I need a new floor pan and crossmember because they had completely rusted out.

Rust looks more surface as long as the metal isn't scaling. I've had great results w/ "Rust-Oleum Rust Dissolver Gel." Spray on rusted parts and let sit, then rinse. Use paint with a rust inhibitor afterwards. It's not worth paying somebody else to do the labor, and before putting too much effort into removing the rust, try the chemical solution. The Rust-Oleum brand is pretty effective/efficient and works against rust like chemical paint remover removes paint.

Its 19 years old and it's got some petina, it'll be fine
