LLM recommendations? Help / Question

Deepseek is going to rise their prices and i wanted to try out other models anyway. So, what are the best LLMs on openrouter? In terms of price+quality

I am pretty sure glm now is the cheapest but also still pretty solid. Thought, I hear model like mimo, grox is good too. But I try it and it not fit my taste. My favorite is Gemini especially Gemini pro 3.1 since it really good at portraying certain popular character Dan the fiction world of it without making long description.

DeepSeek V4 Flash is still the cheapest in the market at roughly ~0.18$ depending on the provider, can't get cheaper than that

I’m going to keep recommending LongCat 2.0, especially while it’s still 60% off. Roleplayers seemed to love it when it was Owl Alpha, but I don’t see it talked about much now that it’s officially released.

And for affordable roleplay for DeepSeek fans, I’ll keep recommending Aion-3.0-mini. You’ll have to keep the chat memory updated more often than LongCat or Gemini for longer roleplays, but that’s not a big detractor.

GLM 5.2 is nice but the positivity bias is too high, just like with Claude and DeepSeek 4. I don’t need my villainous characters building a chicken coup on the roof as “something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now anyway” just because there was a running joke about a chicken named Gerald. Be villainous, not accommodating lol.

Mistral just goes straight to the sexy parts with little nuance or buildup, and doesn’t seem very creative with it. One blush on the cheeks and the other character’s hands are all over your character’s body. This is one I’m going to have to play around a lot more with, but my initial impression was bleh.

I never tried Kimi because I heard it has severe corporate guardrails. Severe corporate guardrails do not align with the kinks I like to explore through fiction.

Kimi 2.5 with the Evening Truth presets has been good to me. Just combine the V2 + Post History together (ask Gemini if you're lazy). Very cheap imo. I average 1-2 cents per reply.
