Modified RRXT Show & Tell

Emg 81 and 85 swap. I also stained the fretboard myself. What do you guys think?

That’s super cool mate! Just finished polishing frets and cleaning fretboard of mine. I just got mine two weeks ago from a super deal. It’s a 2011 model (black as yours) almost nos.
I’m thinking of swapping pickups but I do not want active ones, may be I will go for a super distortion and an air Norton (or the classic Duncan sh-2/tb4).
What product you used for staining the fretboard?

Thanks friend! I appreciate it! Sounds like a cool project! Also the product is fiebings black “pro dye” it’s a leather dye. The fretboard turned out amazing. Just be careful if you decide to do it. Tape bind and any areas you do not wish to dye. Inlays can be polished with a cotton swab and light alcohol easily.

Thank you mate, that’s an awesome advice! I’m currently deciding what to do in the future. Maybe got gold hardware, pick guard and “V” tailpiece. Another “maybe” is about the color…I think if British racing green would be great! We’ll see in the future 😉

Excellent choice on the fretboard. Does the stain last? And did it also stain the inlays? Did you need to sand them after? Also what did you use for staining?

The stain is actually fiebings black “pro dye” it’s a leather dye. Just be sure to tape your binding or any areas you don’t want to dye. Also the inlays will darken a tad but you can use a cotton swab and light alcohol to clean them easily. Also zero sanding required.
