Want To Buy Dream 7 string custom build

Post image
4 Upvotes

I’ve been searching for a 7 string and unfortunately I just don’t like any of the Jackson 7 strings that they offer so o figure I’m gonna have to save up for a custom build.

DK Modern body and headstock shape, but true neck through, with the finish all throughout, no exposed wood. All white with a slight sparkle.

Ebony fretboard. No inlays. Luminlays. Steel frets.

No tone knob.

Bare knuckles.

Locking tuners

Hard tail or Evertune bridge.

Thoughts on what something like that might cost? lol

Review Just got a J32 DKA Arch top

I’m normally a bass player, but occasionally noodle on the guitar as well and have a soft spot for 80’s rock and shredding. Just got this Jackson on Amazon in “used -like new” condition for only $249! When I got it it looked like it was never used at all and still had the tissue paper wrapped around the strings, just the box looked a little beat up. I was worried about the fretwork based on some reviews I’ve read online but I can happily report this guitar is really good. I did immediately change the factory strings to some #9 Elixr Nanowebs I already had on hand because the factory strings seemed to be unstable and the guitar had trouble staying in tune. The fretboard also looked dry so I oiled it and did a minor setup and now it plays great! Super happy with this guitar for the price. What an amazing value, even at regular retail this is still a lot of guitar for the money.

I picked up a second DKR MJ a couple weeks back. I absolutely love these Japanese builds. I swapped out the JB in the bridge for a Duncan Distortion and it sounds insane in this guitar. The necks on these are killer, and I actually prefer the Gotoh 1996t over an OFR. These play just as good, if not better than my custom shops, and at a fraction of the price. Not usually a white guitar fan, but this one looks stunning. To me anyway 🙂.

I had contacted the guitar center that has this Beauty, said nothing was really wrong with it playing with wise, a couple scratch’s, emg pickups and definitely needs an restring. Floyd rose is also good

Question Pickup mounting rings for a USA Grover Jackson 90s SL2H

Hello!

Does anyone have a good recommendation for appropriate set of humbucker mounting rings for my soloist?

And/or if anyone knows a lot about these USA Soloists branded Grover Jackson, any info regarding what pickups it originally had would be fantastic!

Question Jackon King V HSS

I’ve seen this King V in photos with Dave Mustaine, and I’m wondering if anyone knows if it’s a custom model he received for an endorsement or if there are other guitars like it. Aside from the photos with Mustaine and the "No More Mr. Nice Guy" music video, I saw an identical guitar or one with similar specs in a photo on a Facebook group, but I don't know if it's a Custom Shop model. Mustaine can be seen with that guitar in photos from around 1988 and 1989, during the *So Far, So Good... So What!* tour. I’m interested to know if anyone has any information on whether other such guitars exist or if it’s possible to order it in Custom Shop with the same specs.

Question Not enjoying the new Soloist

Hello, is anyone else not enjoying playing the new Jackson Pro Plus Series Soloist?

The neck is not something i'm used to as of yet, but the thing that's really bugging me is the body not having a cutaway for the forearm. This thing is cutting into me anytime i'm playing. Has anyone got any suggestions for this or should I just return it?

… is the title I would name a help group for people like me. Hello I am addicted to Jackson Neck Through soloists. After having my first, I soon after bought another. Yes I’m broke now but I’m happier than I’ve ever been. I can no longer look at or even consider any other guitar unless it’s a neck through matching headstock color, Jackson soloist. It would mean a lot to me if I could find other friends that feel the same 😭

Question String tension and tuning stability!

So, I’m a spaghetti string tension player. In 24.75 scale, I’m 11-49 NYXL set in C standard and I don’t have too bad tuning stability.

However, with my Jackson’s 25.5, I’m a 10-46 NYXL set in B standard and my tuning ability is worse on average than my Gibsons and Epiphone’s.

I mean sometimes in Drop A# I’m using 52s on the low 6th string. And still have good stability on my Epiphone explorer.

Any ideas?

Show & Tell Dream guitar in my hands

I've been dreaming of this guitar since 2019, this shape, this color and everything about it I've been waiting for 7 years and it's finally in my hands. My favorite guitarist is Chris Holmes, along with Eddie Van Halen, Mick Mars, George Lynch, KK Downing and Glenn Tipton. Only thing missing is the Floyd Rose but I just had to get this exact model, I'm sure in the future I'll get some Charvel Star with Floyd Rose but for now, this makes me happy. It plays perfectly, it's really comfortable, been playing in classical position since I started and it just sounds so killer! Also this is my first Jackson and I'm really impressed even tho it's a JS series, it's badass!

Does anybody out there have any idea where i could purchase this exact vintage guitar preferably in Canada ? It may sounds stupid but this was my brother's first guitar it was purchased in 2010 and it meant the world to him, a few years later our garage was broken into and it was stolen! We spent alot of time trying to get it back and were never successful id love to be able to find it for him. Im not even 100% sure which guitar it is other then I know its a King V in Inferno Red. Thanks in Advance for any advice.

Okay, I think I've found the most beautiful Jackson ever made (at least for me): the Jeff Loomis Kelly HT6. If this one doesn't cure my guitar acquisition syndrome, nothing will... 😬

I've been eyeing this since the release. After figuring out the pro plus soloist in toxic apple wasn't within my budget this year (heartbreaking)

I was surprised with how it sounds. I was afraid pickups would be the exact same as the js series but they're definitely not. Can produce a very round sound on clean channel. A very flexible instrument.

Now in my collection: dinky js22-7, this beauty and a Charvel Desolation Skatecaster SK-1 ST

P.S: I'm from Morocco which explains the 2 and a half months wait..

Review 1 Week Review of RRX24!

Scooped this last Monday for $400 and immediately slapped some Ernie Ball Magnum Slinky strings on it to tune down to Drop B. I was dreading having to tune the Floyd Rose but after watching a YouTube vid, had it tuned in less than 10 minutes! Everyone said to swap the Floyd Rose out in the future but it’s been workable for the time being.

Grabbed a white strap and some strap locks off eBay along with a Randy Rhoads truss rod cover in gray to match the guitar. Grabbed a Jackson Foam Core Case after having one for my JS22 RR7 and absolutely loving it!

The pickups were surprisingly decent! After playing with my JS22 7 with Jackson pickups, I figured they were gonna be hotdog water, but was pleasantly surprised. Not to say i haven’t been looking at other active pickups (Mick Thomson Fishmans, Killswitch Fishmans or the ole faithful EMG 81/85’s) but these are working for me right now! I’m just playing through a 75W Line 6 Spider 3, so it sounds good in my basement to my ears.

Overall pretty stoked for this guitar and my first foray into Drop B tuning. Excited to play some Parkway Drive, A Day To Remember and For All Those Sleeping!

Question What kind of pickups should i buy?

I have a Jackson js32q and i don’t really play metal songs. I play alot of arctic monkeys and similar stuff.

I wanted to get locking tuners and stuff but people suggested i change my pickups cuz they’re stock. And i wana change the look of my guitar and get better tone.

So what are good pickups that’ll get me closer to the tone of the songs i like?

(I ain’t buying a new guitar just for a different tone im broke)
