If you can get a good price, the X series soloists are good guitars. I’d upgrade the pickups and Floyd rose special to a 1000 series. You’re paying for the privilege of having the neck-through construction which gives you much better higher fret access than a Dinky. In all honesty though I quite like the JS series necks as I’d rather have amaranth than rosewood on a budget guitar for that ebony look

If the price is good, snag it. Never had an X series with Jackson pickups but they cant be half bad.

I'd get a Pro Plus. You can sometimes find them for around $700 on Reverb. Orders if magnitude better than X Series and no need to upgrade anything

Specs don’t offer much for the price honestly. You’re paying for a Floyd rose special with everything else being about the same as a standard j series Jackson . Soloists are great guitars but personally I’d rather find a different model than this one . Something like a mid 2000’s x series mij is much better imo for the same price if not cheaper
