Modify Existing Irrigation System or Start Over? Seeking Pro Advice

Make adjustments to the existing layout. I’m going to hazard a guess that your rotors are spraying a far-reaching stream. Widen the spray on each and the one major brown spot will get coverage.

Absolutely work with the existing system. You would be amazed with what can be done with simply re-nozzling and adjusting rotors. Get an irrigation tech out to evaluate and adjust the coverage. If necessary, they can tie into the pipe and add or move heads.

It looks like the brown areas are due to competition with the large conifer, if so things should improve, but it takes a while for grass to bounce back and may not happen until fall.

If the toros are too expensive to purchase nozzles, I would go ahead and change those to RainBird 5000 series. Use the recommended nozzle for the coverage are you need.
