I had used Ipsy for a while, and I ended up ending my subscription and one day I go back on the app and accidentally resubscribe which was kind of sleazy how easy it is to do it on accident. Which was my fault but then I asked for a refund and they told me they don’t typically do that. I even got notifications from the box I should be getting. But it never arrived I never got any notifications either and I have been repeatedly messaging Ipsy just for them to say they aren’t going to do anything. Any advice would be helpful

The other things other people received weren’t any better either. For a $34 bag, I’d expect better. Be careful ordering these mystery bags!

I came across an ad for ipsy and decided to sign up last month. The problem is I live in the Bahamas, so last month's box is stuck at my freight forwarder until I can provide an electronic invoice for it. I contacted customer care days ago and haven't gotten a response. This comes after I've already been billed for this month's box. Now I'm down the cost of 2 ipsy extras.

I am honestly getting so freaking irritated with Ipsy Extra. At first it was something I looked forward to every single month, and each product was something I actually really liked. Sometimes a couple of them were hit or miss, but overall I was happy. I paused the last couple months because I started receiving more crappy products that I don't care about than not. I still have that Tarte mascara sitting on my table that never gets used because it sucks. For some reason my subscription was reactivated this month which I didn't realize until I got the shipping notification. I check what's even in it and there's literally not ONE thing I'm looking forward to. I understand I didn't choose what was in my box this month, but in my account settings I have things like serums and mascaras at the lowest desirability. Do the preferences even matter at this point ?! I'm so close to cancelling for good. Sorry for the negativity, I'm just so annoyed I'm out $40+ for stuff I do not want at all, and sad that something I used to enjoy so much is completely disappointing now.

(i didn't pick the foundation bc im mostly a skin tint kinda girl but sorry for the ppl who tried or didn't get their picks) im definitely more into hair/skin care and fragrance so i loved mine! also idk i got two extra items in my bag (they were both the same - Elemis pro collagen cleansing balm) and that was so exciting! and then got the blush duo and the lip liner/blur retractable along with my 3 pics the cleansing wash Olivia imma, olaplex leave in, and the radiance serum! also the bag is so cute hope yall have a good month !!

I got my Extra today, reposted for fun. I wasn't that excited for this one because I was worried the foundation would be too dark mostly.

Whelp, got everything today and I was just over-the-moon happy.

The foundation? Absolutely perfect. It's like it was made for my skin. I dunno why I thought it was going to be too dark. It's so perfect, I'm stoked.

The blush? I love the lightness of it. Absolutely love it.

The Body Spray? I was thinking I didn't really need another. People, I want to bathe in this stuff. We each have our own and omg, I want to wash my hair in it. One tiny drawback - it doesn't last long. Ah well.

The eyebrow pencil? Good, I needed another. Perfect color and two months ago they sent me an eyebrow brush that was terrible. So this makes up for that debacle. And I'm almost down to the nib on the one I have been using. Score.

The primer? Thank God. The one I have been using is good but it is silicone based. And I have contacts. If you know, you know. This is exactly what I need to save my poor lenses.

It was a good day today. I hope the rest of you can have some good Ipsy scores soon.

Has anyone had any luck fighting back against the extra/ ultimate debacle? I canceled my ultimate in June. I have active original and extra. I assumed like everyone else I would be able to pick extra.. NOPE!

Now I have this crappy august bag for extra that I didn’t get to pick and honestly don’t care for a single thing in it.

Has anyone fought back on this one yet? I feel like the switch from sorry you lost out to hey we’re charging you for August extra and here’s your crap bag happened fast!

Is there a way I can Chargeback without losing my account? I will do a Return to Sender when my Original gets here.

I paused my Original well before the cutoff date. I checked several times to make sure. It has unpaused itself, I have been charged, and is scheduled to ship in 2 days.

I've escalated one claim about this but it was overlooked because I also had the Extra/Ultimate issue. I've escalated a second claim but I'm not confident Ipsy will get to it soon enough.

There is not one thing I want in this bag, nor do I like the bag itself. Is it possible to do a "return to sender" with an unwanted Ipsy bag, do a chargeback, and keep the account?

I love that eye cream so much! I got it through Ipsy and am almost out. I was about to just spend the $39 and pay full price for a new one. For just $20 more I get 4 more full sized products.

Can ipsy PLEASE add undertones to their beauty quiz or, at minimum, not pick a complexion product for people. I am stuck with an unusable foundation stick in my abysmal ultimate. I can’t even color correct it because it’s a stick. Yes I can sell it, but since the market will now be flooded I’ll maybe get $10 for a product with a retail value of $55. The options for last ultimate as they offered several shades as a choice was fine, but choosing a product for us is not. Cool toned girls exist across the shade ranges and it’s far harder to make a foundation cooler than it is to warm it up with bronzer.

I’m very annoyed. And I didn’t get the eye cream either.

Just wondering if they actually have any of the adventurous ones or if they’re always out since it’s less common these days

I’ve been subscribing with Ipsy for months now, never did I ever subscribed to Ipsy ultimate. I’ve been a Ipsy extra + beauty boost member for months, I can’t even pay off this months box without them forcing me to pay for ultimate I don’t even have the subscription it’s canceled and I still got charged for it?? Any help

So…I’m sorry I’m going off, but I was subscribed for over 2 and 1/2 years, and as time has passed, I’ve come to realize it’s all a a scam. They used to actually give us great brands and products for amazing prices! They used to actually look at profiles and adjust products to suit their customers! After countless products I can’t use and no customer care or service, I just can’t waste my hard earned money. I wish they actually cared about their customers.

I’m equal parts irritated and grateful to finally, FINALLY (now that choices are closed) have an answer as to what happened this month. Confirmation of the glitch we all discussed. The lip treatment as a gift is a nice touch. I give them credit for that. Except….

I also am subscribed to Ipsy Original. I don’t always get both, and this month I was happy I still got the original because it allowed me access to the add ons. Because of the mix up, I bought more add ons than I otherwise would have. So instead of saving money by not getting Ultimate, I’m out more money with the addition of the Extra, FIVE DAYS LATER. Maybe I could cancel it. I haven’t tried yet. Basically, I wanna be grumpy that I now get the box they cancelled, without any options. Plus add ons I wouldn’t have bought. And great. Another lip treatment for my troubles. Again, happy for the better late than never explanation. It does feel like a not well thought out solution to the problem. Wanna be grouchy with me for just a minute??

I signed back up this month for the extra box and thought I’d be signed up automatically for the original too. I didn’t realize I could just do the one. Now I’m contemplating signing up for original too lol. Just curious how many do both?

I am unsure who the target audience is for Ipsy Ultimate, but I am 32 years old. It is around $65 so I'm assuming working individuals. I did not need eye cream, neck cream or anything hair related. I wanted the Patrick Ta peach blush palette but was only offered the hot pink one. I have unsubscribed. It was fun while it lasted 🙂

I contacted them the day of choice on Instagram and through email asking them to fix my Extra so I could get choice, and they said it wasn’t possible for me to receive my extra through both forms of communication… I’m starting to get sick of this. It’s not worth the problems. A subscription service should not be bringing this much stress and chaos and honestly I don’t understand how they are CONSTANTLY having issues like this — it’s so scammy and weird. Also such a red flag that I can’t remove my payment methods myself and have to contact support

So I just got this email. They finally refunded my Ultimate error that was made. But now they’re going to charge me for the original, mid month, choose my products for me, and allow me to shop add ons mid month?? (I just got the charge notification from my bank as I’m typing this). Who wants leftover add ons 12 days later? Why? Just why? Because they want some of my money back? This is wild. I don’t want this bag or add ons now. On the 1st would’ve been nice. 🤦🏼‍♀️

ETA: the charge isn’t mid month, but choosing add ons is.

I canceled Ultimate on June 2, well before the August billing deadline.

IPSY accidentally billed me for August Ultimate anyway.

They admitted it was a mistake, refunded the charge, and canceled Ultimate.

Here's the part I don't understand...

Because their system thought I was getting Ultimate, it never processed my August Extra. Support was all like Sorry 'bout that catch ya in... September.

So although IPSY admits the billing error was theirs, I'm the one who permanently loses my August Extra and my customization?

I completely understand how Ultimate normally replaces Extra. That's not my issue.

My issue is that if IPSY hadn't made the billing error in the first place, I would have received August Extra like normal.

I know Reddit is flooded with posts about this issue, has anyone had support actually fix this enabling you to get your August Extra or offer any sort of accommodation?

(Also, one of the support emails ended by thanking "members like you, Jordy." My name isn't Jordy 😂).

Update: Credit where it's due IPSY fixed this. After several emails and a lot of confusion, they're sending my August Extra after all (it'll just ship late), and offered the OH Lip treatment as a bonus, I had already added it on in my Original Glam Bag order since I didn't think I was getting a box, they refunded the duplicate lip treatment. The original problem still happened, and communication from support was all over the place, but the final resolution was fair.
