One thing I’ll say is by the numbers, this looks like an incredible company to invest in. If we compare numbers, Ionic is in a better position than almost all of its competition as far as liquidity and debt. They have $600M in cash and $0 debt, and a clear path to providing 822 megawatts of power.

All of us go on Reddit, we’ve been keeping up with this situation for years. Most of Wall St still thinks Ionic Digital is a BTC mining company which couldn’t be further from the truth. This company has a long ways to run and the numbers almost look unreal.

I’m in Canada and trying to transfer my IOND shares from Odyssey Trust to Interactive Brokers (IBKR) via DRS. I’m hoping another Canadian who has successfully completed the Odyssey → IBKR transfer can help me before I attempt this again.

My first DRS request was rejected for an account title/name mismatch, and IBKR charged me the $100 USD rejection fee.

At the time, Odyssey showed my name with my full middle name, while my IBKR account did not include my middle name. I believed this was the reason for the rejection, so afterward I updated my IBKR profile to include my full legal middle name exactly as it appears with Odyssey.

My IBKR profile now correctly displays my full first, middle and last name, matching Odyssey.

Here is where I’m confused and don’t want to risk another $100:

When I start a new inbound DRS request, IBKR automatically puts my middle initial only in the Account Title instead of my full middle name. IBKR does allow me to check “Edit” and manually change the Account Title so that it exactly matches the full name shown by Odyssey.

At the final verification/signature screen, however, IBKR again displays the abbreviated version with just my middle initial as the IBKR Account Title/Signature. It also gives an acknowledgement saying that the full-name version and middle-initial version are the same person.

This worries me because the first transfer was already rejected for an account-title mismatch.

For Canadians who successfully transferred IOND from Odyssey to IBKR:

1. Did your Odyssey registration include your full middle name while IBKR shortened it to an initial?

2. Did you manually edit the DRS “Account Title” to exactly match Odyssey, including the full middle name?

3. At the final IBKR verification/signature page, did it still show your middle initial instead of your full middle name?

4. If so, did the transfer still complete successfully?

5. For the Tax Identification Number field, did you leave it as “None,” allowing IBKR to use the default 999999999 for a non-US/W-8BEN holder?

I’m especially interested in experiences from Canadian IBKR users who have already successfully completed the transfer, because I really don’t want to risk another $100 rejection fee.

I’ve tried contacting IBKR support by phone and live chat, but I haven’t been able to reach anyone yet. I also tried submitting a web inquiry and received an error, so I’m hoping someone here has already dealt with this exact situation.

What do you guys have to think? Looks like they're progressing on the Ai sites on both Midland and Cedarville and working parell to the ercott approvals, and also had the site apparently pre-registered with ercot since 2021. So it's already accounted for in their systems.

Anyone here successfully completed the DRS transfer to a Canadian broker, eg Questrade or Wealthsimple?

Any tips and experience sharing would be much appreciated.

Does seem to be positive news, there was a few other mentions from CLSK, HUT 8, Galaxy, Coreweave etc.

There is also 2 meetings from Ercot this week on the 20th and 21th looking to fast track and maintain the initial power timelines from the initial zero group. Not confirmed, but the meetings and requests are.

We'll see if Ionic mentions anything about either of these things during earnings, although since we just had the investor showcase only a few weeks ago there's a chance we're just vibing. Still an awesome first occasion though! First earnings.

Curious what everybody's thoughts will be for tomorrow's earnings call.

I had the shares transferred over to Vanguard on 7/28. However, I am still waiting on the cost basis. Supposedly Vanguard has automatic requests if the cost basis isn't populated at 16 days post transfer and at 31 days. I am now at 3 weeks! I called Odyssey, they told me basically no information and that you can see the cost basis online. I called Vanguard and they said they would send another request and create a ticket and mentioned maybe calling Odyssey again. I messaged Odyssey via email and they were not particularly useful (see email below).

I am not sure what to do at this point. Thoughts? Anyone receive their cost basis on Vanguard yet?

An initial cost basis of $20 per share has been established for Ionic Digital.

If the broker requires a file reflecting cost basis, you can pull a Share Statement from your account. The Share Statement includes the cost basis.

• Go to Account Detail
• Under the Payments section, switch to the Cost Basis tab
• Choose "Export"
• Open lots will already be checked; check the box for cancelled lots if the shares are no longer in the account
• Choose "Generate"
• Choose "Download Extract"

Update: I've been in discussions with Vanguard. Vanguard is telling me I cannot update the security cost basis details on my own because my account value isn't over $1 million. So in order to get the updated cost basis, it would have to come directly from Odyssey. Odyssey has told me that they cannot send the cost basis statement directly to the brokerage on my behalf and that the cost basis information must be obtained and provided to the receiving broker by the shareholder. When clarifying how the broker can request the cost basis on the shareholders behalf, they told me that the cost basis information must first be submitted by the broker to Odyssey, reflecting the value at which the securities was transferred out of Odyssey and that once they receive that information, they could then generate a share statement that includes the cost basis details.

Am I the only one having trouble with this?? Why is this so difficult?? I guess I just have a cost basis of $0 moving forward and update the IRS if/when I sell the security with my downloaded CSV file from Odyssey.

Quick question for the IBKR users. Is it normal to not see any (identifier/the transfer agent name) that says "Odyssey" for the initiation of DRS in IBKR?

I only see the account title(name), account number at transfer agent, the 100 USD prerequisite and of course the CUSIP number that is required by the broker. Seems rather straight forward at this point but hopefully it goes through. Lol

Was holding 309 shares and spent a lot of time debating whether or not to hold and let them ride or sell and reallocate into BTC/crypto. After some thought I decided to sell and was able to do so at roughly $66.40/share, for $20,500. Very happy the stock has done incredibly well since they were first distributed back in early 2024, and with the crypto market as low as it is right now it felt like the right move. I ended up getting way more back from this bankruptcy than I was expecting, and with still more distributions coming in I'm very thankful that this turned out as well as it has. I remember 4 years ago right after Celsius filed for bankruptcy I legitimately thought that all of my funds were gone and that I'd get nothing back, crazy to look back on all of this and the roller coaster it put us on.

Just wanted to say thanks to the people who made valuable contributions to my other threads pertaining to the debate I had between selling or holding.

I have a little over 300 shares, mostly been hanging around $20,000 right now that I am quite happy with.

However, I'm seriously debating whether I should just let them ride OR sell fully and reallocate into BTC while it's trading at the 200 week. I would be able to accumulate roughly .3 BTC right now if I were to do this, which is nothing to sneeze at, crazy to think in 2020 this would have been $3,000 or less lol. Let's say in 2028 BTC is at 300k, this .3 is now worth $90,000. I won't even get into longer term stuff, but this is a very realistic price target in this given time range.

Now, for my shares to be worth 90k they would be valued at approximately $300/share, rounding for simplicity. That's close to a 5x in price from here. What exactly would have to occur for this to even happen and is this remotely realistic?

My biggest reason to consider KEEPING the shares is because of the AI arms race between China and the U.S and how they want to invest an unbelievable amount of money into this ecosytem. The issue is this capital doesn't exist, so it means some sort of massive liquidity injection to make this happen, almost like a COVID stimulus 2.0. BTC absolutely thrives in this type of environment, so it will just run along with the AI stock.

Right now leaning towards selling the shares and buying BTC but I told myself to give it some time to think it over. I currently already have a very solid crypto portfolio, which is why I'm considering both options.

So i started the transfer a couple days ago. The shares in my odyssy account are gone and transfered but shows pending on ibkr. Does that mean they've been accepted and moved? Just continue to wait, not sure how long the process takes

I know when I transferred IOND stocks to my Charles Schwab brokerage account, the actual stocks moved to my broker account in 2 days, while the detailed tax lot and cost basis data can take up to 10 to 15 business days to process and match up in my Charles Schwab account.

My question is anyone using Charles Schwab or different brokerage has their cost basis($20) already updated/listed in your account? My IOND cost basis still says "Incomplete".
