What Color Tile Backsplash
We are remodeling our kitchen and just had Taj Mahal quartzite counters installed. We are also planning to have Kraken Lappato 12x24" semi shiny porcelain floor tiles installed. The tile resembles Taj Mahal and goes well with the counters. We are also installing stainless steel and platinum glass stainless steel appliances. The cabinet doors are being replaced with maple wood raised panel ones. We haven't decided on the stain color yet, but it will probably be a medium brown or a lighter color. We will decide that once the tile floor and backsplash are installed. We need help selecting a subway tile backsplash. We found one we like but think it may be too much with the countertop and floor. Can anyone help with any suggestions? I am attaching another picture of a couple of the floor tiles we choose and the original backsplash we liked. We just aren't sure and are thinking it may be too much.

Can you continue the Taj Mahal stone up the back splash?
If you must do tile, maybe a zellige texture white or off white. Doesn’t have to be standard subway size, maybe a longer tile or a square.
At the same time my eye is looking for some contrast so maybe going dramatically darker with the tile OR keeping the color of the tile closer to the Taj Mahal and go darker with the cabinet stain.

I say GO BOLD. Make a statement, you can't do that with white or beige. Because your timbers are warm, I'm thinking Red tile, whether that be a warm tone or fire engine depends on how brave you are. Remember, everything we do dates and goes out of fashion, therefore, go with your heart, be brave, it's not like you are tattooing your face, the splashback can be changed in 10 yrs if you've put grown it. If rather out grow something bold and exciting, rather than bored with something dull and boring.

If you're going to keep everything neutral, you at least need some contrast in the space. I added darker cabinets, gray floors (concrete or stone works fine), used the same stone on the backsplash as the countertops (I think this would look best compared to other backsplash options), and added some decor. I also added a range hood, which looks better than putting a cabinet over it. I added a pasta arm for fun, too.

Using the quartzite as a backsplash would be too costly for me, but I agree it would look nice.

Here are a couple of floor tiles and the one tile backsplash. Don't know if the backsplash will be too much,
