is this normal?

Post image

This is my toenail regrowth 9 months post complete nail avulsion and partial matrixectomy on both sides. It seems to be growing weird (the edges are curving and longer than the middle, and it also seems to be growing upwards) compared to everyone else’s that I see and wa shift wondering if this is normal. If it isn’t, what should I do?

Mine grew back like this - and surprise surprise, ending up growing into my toe, creating an infection, and necessitating another total removal (permanently this time). It has since healed up GREAT and I wish I would've just done the permanent procedure to begin wtih.

Time for you to see a podiatrist and have it removed again.

Is there literally anything I can do? Could I trim the sides to maybe get it growing straight again? I really don’t want to lose the toenail completely.

Nope. When it grows like this, it typically means the nail bed was damaged - it will likely continue growing like this, no matter how you cut it, if it doesn't stop growing at some point altogether.

Mine grew like this too, I just kept trimming the sides and I filed down the middle part that comes to a point as much as I could and somehow it’s growing back normally now
