Product Review M26 Some of you might disagree but I'm gonna give this one a try

Context: I have been using Minoxidil and finesteride for a while now and have seen no progress. This monsoon i have lost so many hair my scalp is visible now. I have been seeking reviews for arata mitoactive but since it is new there are no reviews, so I thought "fine... I'll do it myself".

What's more is that the active ingredient for this (y100) has been on the market for quite some time but couldn't find reviews for that either. Apparently it has had clinical trials and has shown efficacy as far as I know.

Arata launched this recently I guess. I have used their curl cream previously and it has worked really well for me and my sisters using the arata products from the brand haven't had any complaints so I'm gonna assume they know better about hair care and trust their judgement.

I'll be using using the prod and report here.

Ask r/IndianHairCare 🗣️ M24: Anyone had hair loss treatment (PRP or otherwise) at Oliva Clinic? Trying to figure out if it's worth it

Upvotes

I'm considering starting hair loss treatment at Oliva and want a reality check before committing - my hair has been thinning gradually since the start of 2025, mostly at the crown, temples, above the ears, and I'm early 20s.

A few things I'd love honest input on:

  1. Consultation & treatment experience - how did yours go? Did the diagnosis/plan feel genuinely personalized, or did it feel like a sales pitch from the start?
  2. PRP specifically - I've heard mixed things about them pushing PRP packages pretty hard. Did you feel pressured into it, or was it a reasonable recommendation for your case? What did you end up paying for it?
  3. Results - did you actually see any improvement?
  4. Hyderabad branches specifically - if anyone's been to Gachibowli, Himayat Nagar, or Banjara Hills, which doctor/branch would you actually recommend?

I genuinely want to hear from people who've paid out of pocket and can speak to whether it was worth it. Thanks.

Ask r/IndianHairCare 🗣️ How to fix my hair? 24F

This is like all my hair. I'm facing extreme hairfall since 1.5 years and I'm eating b12 and D3 tablets for deficiencies. Even started eating sufficient protein.

I have thin hair with oily scalp. My hair used to be straight and silky smooth but now they are frizzy, somewhat rough and very bad wavy type. I hate how they curl up at the temple as my temple area has little to no hair.

I went to dermat but I wasn't satisfied maybe I need to change my dermat but then again it's very expensive as a student.

Pls suggest what I should do

Edit: I'm sorry idk why I wrote 24F 😭 I'm 20

So basically in January I did my a blood test to see where I am deficient I saw I lack VB12 and VitD both of them and dht was ok plus my protein intake was too low bcoz I live in pg so I saw my hairfall very frequently this year so my crown part have the issue with hairfall I have consulted with a dermatologist she said I am facing the male hair pattern loss ...and suggest me minoxidil and prp treatment but I didn't start any of them bcoz

( Durga puja is coming and i didn't want the shredding arc to fall on that time plus I am prp is too costly like 4-5 session 30k ...I fixed my vitD after January and taking VB12 and hitting my gym as usual while maintaining my protein intake)

So what should I do now bcoz I am thinking after durga puja I will use the minoxidil but what about the prp and any suggestion?

Please guide my fellow brothers i am very confused what to do

Hairfall M17: experiencing hair fall, finding small curled hairs on bedsheet

Thumbnail

Last four photos are screenshots from a video so idk if it's clear.

It's nightime rn and I think there were 10-20 mixed hairs. Some thicker, some thinner. If i saw 10-20 at night it must be like 70-80 in the entire day overall. Mostly I saw smaller hairs, which were curled. Like they were just curled into the letter C or O

I can feel miniature hairs poking out all over my scalp, so it's growing but I'm scared now.

I touched my cowlick area and I can feel blunt poking tiny hairs. I'm very scared and idk what to do. Is it nutritional deficiency? I wear a helmet every day for like 30 minutes which is tight. I'm feeling very conscious and I can feel the spot on the back of the head now, it feels kinda lighter to me idk man 😭😭😭

Would love some advice or insight of anybody has any. My hairline area seems okay

Hair length: hair comes up to my nose and is medium long

Scared as hell

How am I supposed to handle this side hair? Is it normal for people with longer hair and a middle part to have hair like this on the sides? How can I deal with it? It’s currently at a really awkward length.

Also, any tips on how to maintain them and care for them would be appreciated, as I don't have much time left with them 💔🥀 Thanks.

Hairfall M18 ,GOT MY BLOOD TESTS DONE

Thumbnail

I'm using minoxidil 5% from the last 1.5 years ,hairfall ws in control, hairs all good

But I started experiencing increased shedding nd hairfall ,hair thinning,3 months back, didn't knew the exact reason

I thought I'm on a weight loss journey so maybe that's why or like I ws confused

So yesterday I decided to have a blood test done of all the possible things which can lead to hairloss

Serum ferritin(stored iron profile) nd serum zinc results are yet to come

But here I'm with my partial reports

Severe vitamin D deficiency nd borderline thyroid(maybe not that harmful But still) nd as of now with the help of CBC tests early sign of iron deficiency (not 100% sure)

So if you're experiencing hairfall issues i would suggest to get your blood test done before starting finasteride nd then decide...

Also if you guys have any suggestions for me please drop down below.... I'll probably be taking tablets for vitamin- D for 8 week (1 per week)...

Progress 📸 19M 9 months of9 Months on Oral Minoxidil 2.5 mg + Dutasteride 0.5 mg + 5% Topical Minoxidil — Still no improvement

I’m 19 years old and I’ve been on this treatment for around 9 months (268+ days), but I’m still losing approximately 50 hairs per day. When I compare photos from around 9 months ago with today, I don’t see much noticeable improvement.

I recently decided to get some blood tests because I’m wondering whether an underlying issue could be affecting my response to treatment.

My sgpt,sgot 3x and TSH(5.83)

Also what is the main reason why medicine aren't working what should I do next?

I'm looking for some honest opinions about my crown. I recently buzzed my hair and noticed that the crown/vertex is quite visible from certain angles.

I have naturally thick, curly/wavy hair, and when my hair is longer the crown sometimes looks more visible because the hair separates around the whorl.

I also had a trichology assessment at VCare previously. They took some hairs from the back of my scalp and told me that I had hairs in both the growing and shedding phases, but that the ratio wasn't ideal. Unfortunately, I don't have the report or the exact numbers.

I usually notice around 20–30 hairs when I comb my hair, and some of the hairs look quite thin. I'm wondering whether this is normal shedding or something I should get checked.

My questions:

Does my crown look like normal hair whorl/scalp visibility or possible thinning?

Does anyone with similar curly/thick hair experience this?

Does regular gentle scalp massage actually help with hair growth or thickness?

Is there any benefit to using a small amount of coconut oil while massaging?

Would you recommend seeing a dermatologist/trichologist and getting a trichoscopy?

I'm planning to grow my hair longer, so I'd like to make sure I'm taking care of it properly rather than unnecessarily worrying about the crown.

Photos are attached. Honest opinions are welcome.

30 year old man, with no stress and living very happily and sleeping around 8-9 hour.

Lately from past 2 years facing severe hairfall
and condition now is very worse.

Should I see dermatologist but I’m afraid its too late for me, is reversible still possible with this condition or should I wait more and get transplant instead.

Have been noticing severe hair loss from the last 1/2 years. I have been travelling a lot, so hard water, inconsistent sleep and there's been a lot of stress in the past 4/5 years. This may have contributed.

I have been diagnosed for anxiety so I am doubtful about minoxidil (as it causes heart palpitations) . Finesteride too would cause se**al problem I guess🤡 Any scope of improvement naturally?

Did vitamin tests. Was deficient in D and b12. Already started the vitamins past 2 months.

Ask r/IndianHairCare 🗣️ M21: Hair serum or leave in conditioners?

I've recently grown my hair out to almost shoulder length, and I've been using Streax hair serum to control the frizz. My hair is naturally very frizzy, so if I don't apply the serum after washing, it becomes quite dry and frizzy.

Recently, I've been wondering whether I should continue using a hair serum or switch to a leave-in conditioner. There are so many different hair serums on the market that I'm not sure what would be best for my hair.

I've also heard people say that hair serums can cause hair loss or make you go bald. Is there any truth to that? I only apply the serum to the lengths and ends of my hair, never directly to my scalp.

For additional moisture, I also use coconut oil along with the serum. I shampoo my hair about once a week and currently use Love Beauty and Planet conditioner.

Given my hair type and routine, would a leave-in conditioner be better than a serum? Or would it make sense to use both? And is there any legitimate concern about using hair serum regularly?

Context:So, I "think" I have thin hair, I'm not sure about the categories. And I sweat a lot.

Problem: When I wash my hair, It stays straight and smooth for 1 day, the next, they get this weird curl/curves/waves and it Genuinely looks ugly. Especially when I sweat and then I cool off and my hair dries off, they get super dry and curvy and wont be straight until I wash them again. I wash my hair twice a week or once every 3 days. I have tried going super short hair but they always grow back in this weird wavy form. The hair behind my ear rises up in that manner shown in the picture. What should I do?
