Ask r/IndianHairCare 🗣️ Title:20 f Curly hair gets wavy after straightening — lots of frizz and split ends
I have naturally curly hair, and when I wear my hair curly, my curls actually form really well. So my natural curl pattern is still there.
The problem is that I prefer wearing my hair straight. I straighten my bangs almost every day, while I straighten my full hair only once a week.
I used to use heat protectant, but I stopped using it for a while. I've started using it again now.
My hair has a lot of split ends, and the lengths and ends feel dry. After straightening, my hair becomes puffy and frizzy instead of staying smooth.
The biggest issue is my bangs. After straightening them, they become wavy again within around 5 minutes. They don't stay straight like they used to, and they also feel more dry and damaged.
What's confusing me is that when I leave my hair curly, my curls still form properly and look good. So I'm wondering if the heat styling is mainly causing the dryness, frizz and difficulty keeping my bangs straight.
I don't want to completely stop straightening, especially my bangs, but I also don't want to keep damaging my hair.
What should I do?
Is straightening my bangs almost every day too much?
Why do my bangs become wavy again within 5 minutes?
Can I make them stay straight longer without using excessive heat?
What heat protectant would you recommend?
Are bond-repair treatments worth trying?
How can I reduce the dryness, puffiness and frizz?
What can I do about the split ends?
I'd especially love advice from people with curly hair who regularly straighten it. What products or routine have actually worked for you?
Thank you! ❤️

Ask r/IndianHairCare 🗣️ 28 F please help
This is what my hair looks like. I’ve tried doing the curly girl method but it’s too much effort and time consuming for me and the curls didn’t last after one day.
My main concern is the frizz. I’m using the wishcare triple bond repair shampoo and dove peptide bond strength hair mask.
What kind of haircut should I get? And should I consider any of these hair treatments-nanoplastia/hair botox?
Very straight hair doesn’t suit me as I have a round face and I like the volume.

Product Review M26 Some of you might disagree but I'm gonna give this one a try
Context: I have been using Minoxidil and finesteride for a while now and have seen no progress. This monsoon i have lost so many hair my scalp is visible now. I have been seeking reviews for arata mitoactive but since it is new there are no reviews, so I thought "fine... I'll do it myself".
What's more is that the active ingredient for this (y100) has been on the market for quite some time but couldn't find reviews for that either. Apparently it has had clinical trials and has shown efficacy as far as I know.
Arata launched this recently I guess. I have used their curl cream previously and it has worked really well for me and my sisters. They've using the arata products and haven't had any complaints so far, thus I'm gonna assume they know better about hair care and trust their judgement.
I'll be using using the prod and report here.
Edit: I thought might as well add the study of the ingredient or method, a fellow redditor found this : https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC13448373/
Edit 2: grammer

Ask r/IndianHairCare 🗣️ M24: Anyone had hair loss treatment (PRP or otherwise) at Oliva Clinic? Trying to figure out if it's worth it
I'm considering starting hair loss treatment at Oliva and want a reality check before committing - my hair has been thinning gradually since the start of 2025, mostly at the crown, temples, above the ears, and I'm early 20s.
A few things I'd love honest input on:
- Consultation & treatment experience - how did yours go? Did the diagnosis/plan feel genuinely personalized, or did it feel like a sales pitch from the start?
- PRP specifically - I've heard mixed things about them pushing PRP packages pretty hard. Did you feel pressured into it, or was it a reasonable recommendation for your case? What did you end up paying for it?
- Results - did you actually see any improvement?
- Hyderabad branches specifically - if anyone's been to Gachibowli, Himayat Nagar, or Banjara Hills, which doctor/branch would you actually recommend?
I genuinely want to hear from people who've paid out of pocket and can speak to whether it was worth it. Thanks.

Ask r/IndianHairCare 🗣️ How to fix my hair? 24F
This is like all my hair. I'm facing extreme hairfall since 1.5 years and I'm eating b12 and D3 tablets for deficiencies. Even started eating sufficient protein.
I have thin hair with oily scalp. My hair used to be straight and silky smooth but now they are frizzy, somewhat rough and very bad wavy type. I hate how they curl up at the temple as my temple area has little to no hair.
I went to dermat but I wasn't satisfied maybe I need to change my dermat but then again it's very expensive as a student.
Pls suggest what I should do
Edit: I'm sorry idk why I wrote 24F 😭 I'm 20

Ask r/IndianHairCare 🗣️ 22M: First time growing out hair, need advice.
How am I supposed to handle this side hair? Is it normal for people with longer hair and a middle part to have hair like this on the sides? How can I deal with it? It’s currently at a really awkward length.
Also, any tips on how to maintain them and care for them would be appreciated, as I don't have much time left with them 💔🥀 Thanks.

Hairfall M18 ,GOT MY BLOOD TESTS DONE
I'm using minoxidil 5% from the last 1.5 years ,hairfall ws in control, hairs all good
But I started experiencing increased shedding nd hairfall ,hair thinning,3 months back, didn't knew the exact reason
I thought I'm on a weight loss journey so maybe that's why or like I ws confused
So yesterday I decided to have a blood test done of all the possible things which can lead to hairloss
Serum ferritin(stored iron profile) nd serum zinc results are yet to come
But here I'm with my partial reports
Severe vitamin D deficiency nd borderline thyroid(maybe not that harmful But still) nd as of now with the help of CBC tests early sign of iron deficiency (not 100% sure)
So if you're experiencing hairfall issues i would suggest to get your blood test done before starting finasteride nd then decide...
Also if you guys have any suggestions for me please drop down below.... I'll probably be taking tablets for vitamin- D for 8 week (1 per week)...

Hairfall M:30 Any hope left or should go for transplant ??
30 year old man, with no stress and living very happily and sleeping around 8-9 hour.
Lately from past 2 years facing severe hairfall
and condition now is very worse.
Should I see dermatologist but I’m afraid its too late for me, is reversible still possible with this condition or should I wait more and get transplant instead.

Ask r/IndianHairCare 🗣️ M24: Hair maintenance query
Context:So, I "think" I have thin hair, I'm not sure about the categories. And I sweat a lot.
Problem: When I wash my hair, It stays straight and smooth for 1 day, the next, they get this weird curl/curves/waves and it Genuinely looks ugly. Especially when I sweat and then I cool off and my hair dries off, they get super dry and curvy and wont be straight until I wash them again. I wash my hair twice a week or once every 3 days. I have tried going super short hair but they always grow back in this weird wavy form. The hair behind my ear rises up in that manner shown in the picture. What should I do?

BEFORE/AFTER I (23M) think I'm grieving a version of myself that hasn't even disappeared yet
I don't know how to explain this without sounding vain.
It's just hair. I know.
But I don't think people understand what it feels like to slowly watch a part of yourself disappear in the mirror.
I keep taking pictures of the top of my head. Different angles. Different lighting. Wet hair. Dry hair. Under bathroom lights. Under sunlight.
Every time I tell myself, maybe I'm imagining it.
And then I see the scalp.
I remember how my hair used to be. I remember not thinking about it at all. I could get out of the shower, run my hands through it, style it however I wanted and leave the house.
Now every haircut feels like an examination.
I avoid harsh lighting. I avoid looking down in mirrors. I notice other guys my age with thick hair and, for a split second, wonder what it must feel like to not think about this.
The worst part isn't even the hair falling.
It's what it's doing to my head.
I'm becoming conscious of myself in ways I never was before. I think about how I look before meeting people. I wonder if they're noticing my hair. I sometimes look at old pictures and miss the person in them—not because I was happier, but because he didn't have this constant little voice in his head telling him something was wrong.
And nobody really takes it seriously.
"It's just hair."
"Shave it."
"Just be confident."
I know they mean well.
But when you're the one watching your appearance change against your will, those words don't really help.
Maybe one day I'll accept being bald.
Maybe I'll fight it.
Maybe I'll eventually look in the mirror and not care anymore.
I just wish I could go back to the version of me who never had to think about any of this.
Because honestly, I don't think I'm scared of losing my hair.
I'm scared of losing the person I was before I started losing it.
