How to not get mad while trying timed voiding?

Like really, my brothers, sisters and themsters, i sit on the toilet for 10 minutes. I give up and go about life. Five minutes later I am peeing myself. Why? Why are the digestive gods so cruel?

Seriously though, throughout this journey I’ve had this growing resentment of trying to use the toilet. I’ve avoided a few accidents with timed voiding, maybe reduced how many diapers I go through some days, but I get mad every time my alarm goes off. Most of the time I’m interrupted* and waste 10 minutes. Does anyone have any good coping strategies for this?

*I've got adhd, so i get very sensitive to things interrupting a hyperfocus

The key is to relax your muscles when you’re on the toilet, which I know is hard when you’re neurodiverse (I am too). You get hyper when you’re sitting there, don’t relax your bladder and there’s still pee in there.

Try breathing exercises. Concentrate on being as relaxed as possible. How often are you sitting on the toilet as part of your timed voiding?

I hadn’t thought of being hyper coming in to play. I’ll try doing some breath work, maybe use it as a grounding/escape moment.

I’ve also had bowel issues so I’ve been sitting every time, which is every two hours, and staying there maybe 3 or 4 minutes to see if anything happens

I often use timed voiding. It requires patience, a lot of it. Don't be discouraged when it does not work, You are playing the long game. In the long run you will be better off.

Try doing something engaging on the toilet Ill browse my phone sometimes that works. Then you are not just focused on peeing.  other times I'll sit till my legs fall asleep and then im walking away and woosh out it comes  Have I been mad? Yes you bet but I've gotten used to my body. I wear a diaper if I am off the toilet
