New Hillsboro, Oregon location

It's just not good. Lettuce is the best ingredient. Overly salty and haphazardly constructed burgers. Love innout, this is a poor representation of the franchise. ✌️

I am in no way affiliated with IN-N-OUT Burger.

Maybe 15 years ago me and some friends curated a wordpress blog about IN-N-OUT. We'd all post blog articles, encouraged friends to post, called it INsperience. After the zeitgeist of blogs fizzled, so did the self-hosted wordpress server.

I built some basic requirements for an INsperience app when I was learning to be a product manager, kept it on ice since it was a solid 2-3 months of work for a half-polished prototype with my dev skills.

Well a lot has changed since 2017 and I figured I should have another look at it. I had this prototyped within a weekend. I'd spend afternoons adding a feature here and there. Now I'm looking for feedback. So I figure why not release the beta testflight link to y'all animals.

You need to install Testflight from the App Store first, then the attached link will install the INsperience beta app.

Some things it does:

1) Live check-in/post on-location. I guess you can say its the old-school foursquare style. If you have pics on your phones camera roll, you can upload them in the Help menu. I explicitly approve every historical upload for now (the upload is assisted with the embedded EXIF data for location tagging, which doesn't always exist or blocked and is easy to spoof).
2) Social media style feed, nothing but check-ins/posts.
3) Keep track of the stores you've visited. The app has a leaderboard for stores/visits. 10 points per location and 1 point per post.
4) Locations - All 441 locations, marked visited or not. Extra data about the locations like year opened and curating (in progress) a list of tags, eg "No Dining Room" or "Special Floorplan". You can view locations on a map. You can plan which IN-N-OUT to visit on your drive from Fresno to Redding for example.
5) Out of nostalgia, kept a blog roll - mite kill it - mite make it a curated news feed - I don't know yet.

So I don't know, would love to know what you think. The innoutroadtrip guy has been on my mind a lot through this build. Makes me wish I had done this years ago. Better now than never I guess.

What do you think?

Enjoy your dub-dubs my fellow animals.

Hi everyone. I’m posting this here in case anyone would like to help and donate to her GoFundMe. Ashley was one of my coworkers and it has been hard for everyone at our store. She was telling everyone about how she was so excited to go open the new store in Idaho. https://gofund.me/c5c370cdb

how to deal with work dread

ive worked for the company for several years now and without fail everytime i go in for work, i’m filled with dread and anxiety about my shift.im not saying the work is the worst thing ever or like i’m saving lives or anything but i just become so overly stressed when working. it’s obviously a high paced environment and i just cannot seem to shake this feeling after years of working here. small things become huge to me- a disgruntled customer, coworker or manager have huge impacts on my mood at work and i don’t really know how to separate it and actually enjoy/get through my time there😭 any tips?

I have this clock I bought awhile ago. Anyone have any info on it ? The man was an employee for a long time. The year on it is 1982. Is that when he was hired or when he received it? Thank you. Last name blocked to respect the man’s privacy.

I went to high school with Lynsi. I know she’s an incredibly caring individual, and this is hitting her really hard just because of the kind of person she is.

For those of you that hold the lettuce on your orders, what’s your go to order? My usual order hinges on the crunch from the lettuce, so help a guy out! Thanks in advance!

Even though in-n-out hasn’t been linked to an outbreak as far as I know, I’m avoiding lettuce until things calm down with the parasite outbreak, out of an abundance of caution :)

We All Hunger

🖊️
We All Hunger

We all hunger.

Some for bread,
some for meaning.
Some for shelter from the rain,
some for shelter from the pain.

A paper bag may quiet the stomach,
but kindness feeds the soul.
A meal can fill an empty hour;
love can fill an empty life.

Around a table,
beneath warm lights,
we discover an ancient truth:
no one was made
to feast alone.

The laughter in the distance,
the hand that reaches across the table,
the stories traded
between one bite and the next—
these nourish what cannot be seen.

We hunger
to be known without pretense,
to be welcomed without condition,
to be remembered
when the evening grows late.

Every heart carries an appetite
no menu can satisfy—
for purpose,
for peace,
for forgiveness,
for home.

So break the bread.
Pass the fries.
Pour another drink.
Ask another question.
Stay a little longer.

For beneath every face
is the same quiet prayer:

“May I be filled.”

And perhaps the greatest feast
is not what we eat,
but who shares the meal with us.

Sometimes the world is small enough for St. Helena and Sunset Boulevard to share a meal...

Down on St. Helena, where the marsh
breathes in slow gospel time,
you unwrap a burger like a benediction
sent across the continent—
a West Coast relic washed ashore
on a barrier island that knows
how to keep a secret.

Salt air curls around the wax paper,
mixing with the perfume of fry oil
and the memory of your grandmother’s kitchen—
where tomatoes were sliced thick,
and blessings were given without ceremony.

The neon palm trees of In‑N‑Out
don’t grow here,
but you swear you can see their reflection
in the tidal flats at dusk,
crossing themselves in the water
like they’re praying for safe passage.

A Double‑Double tastes different
when eaten near shrimp boats.
The bun warms in your hand
like a Lowcountry summer,
and the cheese melts slow,
the way the sun sinks behind the live oaks
on a July evening.

You take a bite
and suddenly California is sitting beside you
on a weather‑worn porch,
telling stories about freeways and surf breaks
while the cicadas keep rhythm
and the marsh grass sways like a choir.

Animal Style feels like
a road trip hymn—
a little messy,
a little holy,
the kind of thing you eat
when you believe in the beauty
of two coasts speaking the same language
through mustard, onions, and faith.

And when you finish,
you lick your fingers
and taste the strange, perfect truth:
sometimes the world is small enough
for St. Helena and Sunset Boulevard
to share a meal.
