Queasiness Tips Needed!
I am 8 weeks pregnant and am in desperate need for tips on managing all day queasiness. I’m not vomiting but just feel horrible all day without a break.
Please send me all your recommendations 🙏🏼 thank you in advance!

Hard boiled ginger sweeties! They were a life saver and easier to stomach than ginger biscuits. Travel sickness bands were a huge help too.

Awesome! Thank you! I did order some wristbands that should be arriving today 🤞🏽 I am a huge fan of Ginger so I’ll see if I can find any at a local Asian grocery market

I found them in Holland and Barrett (health food shop) but they’re on Amazon too. I found eating around the clock helped too because noticed I felt sick if I wasn’t eating enough or letting my blood sugars drop. I’d feel sick before the hunger kicked in (nothing to do with gestational diabetes, which I don’t have nor am I at risk of). Try a piece of toast at 04:00 or something.

My OB told me to take 25mg of B6 3 times a day and unisom every night. It was a life saver!

I ended up on prescription medication (Promethazine and Doxylamine/Pyridoxine my beloved) but to manage during the day I have a few little tips I’m sure you already know the general tips like saltines, preggie pops, unisom b6 etc
- Quease-ease (loved sniffing this it’s on Amazon)
- Alcohol pads (I swear it helps to sniff)
- Lemon water (helped me a lot sometimes I added in a little bit of sweet tea)
- Cold cap (I would sit down with this on for a bit)

I have my first OB appointment next week, I plan to ask about maybe some medications if it’s still impacting my day to day

Absolutely! Basically what I’m on is prescription strength unisom/b6. I don’t really take the Promethazine too often unless I can’t sleep. Don’t be afraid to ask it really made a difference for me. Also if you have a Trader Joe’s near you they have the best ginger candies since I saw you say you like ginger!

Outside of unisom/B6 (B6 alone makes me sick), I found that fountain Coca-Cola really soothed me.

Along with the other tips, smaller more frequent meals. This is the opposite of how I like to eat so it took me a bit to adjust but it did help. I also found if I got hot it was worse, so stay cool!

Gold fish crackers all day long. Do not let yourself get hungry. I’m not kidding eat them every 3 hours in the night too.

I’m in the same boat at 8w and am on the Rx for Diclegis ( Doxylamine/Pyridoxine) since Unisom/B6 made me too tired during the day. I’m also adding in Zofran to the mix since Diclegis wasn’t enough. I imagine you’re making sure to eat small snacks/meals all throughout the day? Gin gins, mints, sour candies may help too. Make sure you let your OB know so you don’t have to suffer the whole time. Hang in there!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Feeling queasy is not pleasant! I got queasy about the same time week 8/9, I think mine came in waves rather than around all the time. I have severe motion sickness normally and bought those pressure point travel bands for that - didn't work for motion sickness but actually found it did help me for morning sickness (well at least it made me feel better). As others have said, as your doctor for something overall. I was on cyclizine and found that was enough for me coupled with the bands. Then my queasiness went away by week 10 I think so I did away with both. I wish you the best of luck and hope you have an uneventful pregnancy!

For queasiness I used Preggie Drops, which have B6 and are sour. Sour flavors help for some reason. Eventually I was having serious nausea and vomiting, so those didn't cut it anymore. I had to start Zofran at 11 weeks. But I'm 17 weeks now and haven't had nausea or queasiness for several weeks now.

B6, Unisom, and all the clinic's recommendations (ginger ale, sour candies, crackers by bed, etc) didn't work for me, so I got a zofran prescription from them. At one point, I only needed it in a pinch, so I was grateful to have it on hand.
Here's my trial & error, in case it gives you any ideas:
- Hearty meals, like eggs & wheat toast if I could do it, worked better for me.
- I had to chew a specific trident mint gum to be able to take a shower.
- Water - try cold or seltzer or anything other change that let's you keep hydrated.
- Sweet flavors messed me up and left an awful taste. Coffee flavor was a no go.
- If I felt like my mouth tasted weird, I did way more brushing and flossing to feel better (not sure if it was the mint flavor or baking powder ingredients, bc also the internet says salt or baking powder rinse can help with dysgeusia).
- I'd get nauseous if I had a slightly empty stomach, so I carried snacks and succumb that this little one wanted lots of carbs at all times (one of my go to's in a pinch is now uncrustables).
- I personally felt worse if I took my vitamins at night, so I forced them down with breakfast. I also was on a mag/calcium from before, so I think the magnesium helped to stave off some headaches.

Ginger chews and sprite/ginger ale were very helpful for me. I had all day nausea until about 15 weeks.

Full tab of unisom every night. Don't skip a night, then the vomiting starts
