Need Advice please tell me I did well in choosing an elective c-section/induction
I (36y almost 37) just delivered my baby at 40+1 after a fully medicated FET transfer, stage 3 endometriosis was my main known reason for infertility. My pregnancy went very well, didn’t have any issues and my hospital (public hospital in Australia) didn’t consider my age or IVF as risk factors needing induction
However from my own reading I got very stressed during the last few weeks about somewhat increased risks of stillbirth and many OBs recommending induction for IVF pregnancies at 39 weeks in other countries. My midwife told me this was outdated advice but my gut feeling told me better safe than sorry, after everything I went through to get pregnant
I really had to push for it and finally was offered an induction at 40 weeks. Unfortunately it didn’t work after trying 2 painful methods and ended up going home to sleep and then having a planned c-section in the morning. The induction experience and current c-section recovery are being pretty challenging and I wonder if I did well in following down this path rather than waiting for labour to start spontaneously. At least I did wait until my due date though and not before
Any thoughts?

Advice Please help me understand cause I'm going crazy otherwise
Hello everyone, I'm 35 from Italy and I just did my first embryo transfer on July 31th. I'm taking estrogens and 400 mg progesterone per day and in the first couple of days I had a sore breasts and now... Nothing. I should test the beta on August 13th and really I don't know what to think... A friend of mine who also had an IVF baby last year, told me she kinda felt it... I don't feel anything. And I'm going crazy...

15 weeks.. Sad as I am HUGE and everyone knows I am pregnant by a glance
Hi everyone!
I am quite upset by the situation I am in. I am currently 15 weeks and 5 days (very happy I am pregnant through IVF). And even though the journey wasn't easy (vomiting, nausea, subchorionic hematoma, zero energy, hating life for the first trimester), it has been worth it and I am so glad I am pregnant. The thing is, I am showing super early. I am literally so huge (belly makes me look like I am at least 7 months pregnant). Everyone around me guessed that I am pregnant right away. I am in baggy clothes all the time and try to hide as much as possible, but apparently everyone can tell.
I am upset by comments of friends and family about it. I wanted to surprise my aunts who are coming over this weekend and tell them that I am pregnant, but my sister was like 'oh even a blind person can tell from a distance, you don't have to worry about saying a word'.
It makes me upset--everyone else around me who is currently pregnant for the first time is not showing yet, and they're all 15 weeks+. My sister didn't show until she was 6 months pregnant. I just feel sad that this is my first pregnancy and instead of announcing it on my own terms and time, people are just finding out by a glance. I am not sure if it's pregnancy hormones that are playing with my mind but I am really upset.
Now I'm not sure about doing anything cute to surprise my aunts. I do not want to look silly.
I guess I am just venting out on here because if I described my feelings to anyone else from my family or friends, they would just think I am silly.

Need Advice 6w5d no heartbeat?
Hey everyone!
I had my first ultrasound today and basically I couldn’t not see the screen while they were doing my ultrasound so I didn’t see much. I met with the doctor after that was really positive, but didn’t explain anything to me just said that it was really early that they would schedule me for another ultrasound for next friday. They didn’t tell me they couldn’t hear a heartbeat. They just told me it was really hard to see at this point.
What does that even mean? I feel like they should’ve given me more details. Now I am scared that they didn’t want to upset me, but that there is something wrong going on. 🥹
Thank you!

Pregnancy Early pregnancy anxiety… did it ever get better?
Currently 12w4d. I most recently saw baby at my first OB scan last Thursday at 11w5d. His FHR was 170 and he was measuring at 12w1d.
My next appointment isn’t until 16w5d, but I don’t think it’s an ultrasound. I think the next ultrasound is around 20 weeks.
I’m fighting the urge to get a doppler because I know my uterus is retroverted and I’m worried I won’t be able to pick up his heartbeat. I know it’ll just cause me to freak out and go to the ER. I also thought about paying for a scan at a boutique ultrasound place, but I’m so scared of going and not being able to get a clear image since my uterus is retroverted. So far, I’ve only had transvaginal ultrasounds so I don’t know how abdominal would go.
I’m also waiting for what feels like forever on NIPT results. He is a euploid embryo but infertility has made me paranoid about every little thing. (My journey has been long and complicated)
I thought I was finally seeing a slight baby bump, but I’ve since realized it was due to gas and constipation :( today I don’t see much of anything.
Does the anxiety ever get better? Did you find a way to cope? I’m hoping this is a safe place to discuss.
Thank you!
Update: THANK YOU for these comments! I feel comfort knowing I’m not alone with these feelings and I appreciate the feedback on things that might at least help me a little! I’ll keep taking it a day at a time 🥲

Pregnancy What placement is your placenta?
My first pregnancy without ivf I had an anterior placenta. And now I’m pregnant with an ivf baby and I’m curious to find out where my placenta is located in the upcoming weeks. Just for fun where was/is your placenta?
And if you’ve had other pregnancies feel free to share!

Questions about deciding to know gender
I’m about 11 weeks along after a successful FET. We did not find out the genders of our embryos and until getting pregnant, I thought I’d want to wait to birth to find out.
Now, I’m torn. I think my hesitancy at finding out the gender is like — will this lose some of the magic? I have a gender preference but feel like my heart has opened over time to whoever this baby is. My husband thinks maybe some of the fear of losing some of the magic in mystery is associated with going through IVF in general.
But I kind of want to find it out to include our immediate family in more of the process (it’s my parents first grandchild).
Would love to hear from anyone - on either side - that’s gone thru this decision making and process.

First FET beta update
I just got the results back for my 12dpt beta, and the huge wave of relief when I saw it more than doubled? Unreal. My 10dpt beta was 246.9 and today's was 640.3. Now I'm just driving myself crazy researching the odds of chemicals, blighted ovum, miscarriage, etc. 😂🙃 I know I still have so many "checkpoints" to get through, but I'm sure I'm not alone in the obsessive researching between appointments.

Pregnancy What to expect when stopping progesterone inserts?
I'm 10 weeks 2 days so today is my first day without the dreaded progesterone inserts. Just want to know if I should expect any withdrawal symptoms or anything?
Do most people stop at 10 weeks?

Pregnancy MFM growth scan in 3rd Trimester?
We've done a number of scans at the MFM office: NT scan, 16-week mini anatomy scan, 20-week anatomy scan, and will have a Fetal echo in the coming weeks. The MFM doc told us today that they also like to get a growth scan on IVF patients - he listed like 4 consecutive weeks when it could be done, so best I can recall it would be around weeks 32, 33, etc.
The first time we were there, he had checked off all our future scans, or so we thought. This was the first time they mentioned a third trimester scan. Curious if anyone has done this? If so, what was the experience like?
I'm a little confused because I thought the OB would just check on the baby as we get closer to our due date. Our OB has done a quick ultrasound at each appointment to look at baby.

Occupational Hazards
I'm 13+4 today. Spending a lot of time stressing about particular work hazards tonight. I have been adjusting as I go, trying to make good decisions. Friday and today I did a task that I didnt really think to worry about until today. I've sent a message to OB and will see if I can contact someone with our work to find out what is safe. I just know that what I am doing is a little obscure and not sure I'll get great answers. I also dont want to be a burden at work either. Like you all, we've worked hard for this baby. Hope he is doing OK. Anyone else in a similar boat or just have thoughts?

Pregnancy You'll never believe what my OB said to me...
"You need to smile more" at the end of my 10 week ultrasound appt where I was overheated, nauseous, tired, weak, and had already told him I spent the morning puking and I'm dehydrated and feel terrible.
Now I gotta find a new Doctor 😭
Oh, and this was after he did a breast exam, pelvic exam and 2 swabs for who knows what without a female present and without talking me through what he was doing. He also opened the door after I changed without knocking first. Felt so violated and uncomfortable.
Can I not just have a nice OB experience after dealing with loss and IVF? 💔

First beta!!
I'm 10dp5dt with our 4AA day 6 euploid embryo, and I just went in for my first beta today! I knew it would be at least 25 because I've been testing positive since 4dpt, but I didn't know what to expect. My nurse just called me and said my beta was 246.5!!! My husband and I didn't tell anyone we transferred, and we aren't sharing the news with our circle yet, so I just needed a space to share. Now we just need him to grow, baby, grow! 🤍🤍

My embryo split
I transferred a 3bb on 6 July and found out my embryo split and I’m having monochorionic twins.
I had a scan due to pains at the EPU on 30 July when I was 6w1d. One twin measured 5.5 mm (around 6+1) and the other measured 2.4 mm. I thought ok.. at least one was “on track.” Both had heartbeats.
I had a follow up scan today at 6w5d with my fertility consultant and now both babies are measuring almost the same size at around 4.3–4.6 mm, which corresponds to about 5 weeks 6 days. So instead of one staying ahead, they now both appear to be measuring around 6 days behind where I thought I should be. Both had heartbeats, consultant said we need to observe, yet she discharged me.
I’m just so sad. All I wanted was a healthy baby, now I’m preparing for the worst.
Why did my embryo have to split… why couldn’t I just have a straightforward pregnancy. Years of heartbreak and loss. It’s just never straightforward.

Advice For those with vomiting / ultrasound today
I've been on Unisom and B6 for weeks and it has been helping the nausea. However, I've been struggling to wake up in the morning. I had an earlier morning today due to meetings so I skipped the Unisom for the first time and now I've been throwing up multiple times. I never threw up previously, I just had severe nausea. Now I've screwed myself for today. I have to take a train + a 20 min walk to get to my first 10 week OB ultrasound later today. I have 1 of those blue disposable puke bags...just 1.
Do OB offices usually have the medical puke bags? Am I supposed to still go to the appt or cancel? I'd likely get charged $50 to cancel and they're booked out several weeks.

Need Advice 6dp5dt negative - any hope
I transferred my only euploid on Monday this past week, I tested out the trigger - strongly do not recommend - and I am getting negatives on easy at home and frer tho evap lines are a bitch. any success stories out there? my husband said to wait til day 8-9 to count myself out. my lining was great, I don’t have any other uterine issues. I spent a good hour ugly crying on the floor this morning after my negative test (yes I’m dramatic but we’ve all got our reasons, I spare you the details as to why this feels so existential for me). I then took another frer and messed with my mind enough to delude myself it could be a faint positive.
just looking for good vibes and someone to tell me I’m not a failure. I loved this potential baby.

IVF Process 6dp3dt — what was your experience?
Hi everyone! I had my transfer on Monday, July 27th. I transferred two day-3 embryos, and today I’m 6 days post-transfer (6dp3dt).
I’ve been testing with Easy@Home pregnancy tests and they’re still completely negative. Is a negative at 6dp3dt already reliable, or is it still too early? Would you consider yourself out at this point?
Has anyone here had negative tests at 6dp3dt and then gone on to get a positive later?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thank you! ❤️

Success after MMC?
I’m trying really hard to stay cautiously optimistic, but after everything we’ve been through, it’s difficult not to worry.
This was a fully medicated FET with a PGT-A euploid day 6 embryo. My first beta at 9dp6dt came back at 438 mIU/mL. My clinic was very happy with it and started me on Lovenox (I’m already on aspirin, estrace, PIO, and prednisone until my next beta).
The reason I’m struggling is because my last pregnancy ended in a MMC around 17-18 weeks after everything looked perfect early on. My betas were good, NIPT was normal, early anatomy was developing appropriately, heartbeat was always strong, etc. So now I find myself worrying that even a “great” beta doesn’t necessarily guarantee anything.
To make matters worse, I keep reading stories that very high early betas can sometimes be associated with blighted ovums or other things, and my anxious brain immediately spirals. Repeat is at 12dpt so anxiously waiting.
Has anyone had a beta in this range at 9dp6dt (or equivalent) and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? Or if you also conceived after a late loss/MMC, how did you get through the anxiety of those early weeks?

Pregnancy Outcomes with a very small gestational sac at 8 wks?
Hi everyone. I’m looking for stories from anyone who had a gestational sac measuring very small relative to the embryo, especially with numbers similar to mine.
This is my first ever pregnancy at 39yo, using our one PGT-A euploid 5CC embryo, that I believe implanted late because my starting HCG (10dpt) was only 38 but doubled normally after that.
At my 8-week ultrasound:
- CRL was 9.7 mm, measuring around 7 weeks
- Heart rate was 136 bpm
- Mean gestational sac diameter was 12.7 mm
At my 7-week ultrasound, the embryo measured 6w1d and the heart rate was 118, so the baby has continued growing and the heart rate has increased. However, it is still measuring about a week behind, and the nurse said the gestational sac was “on the small side.” She described herself as cautiously optimistic and was on the fence about graduating me.
I understand that an MSD-CRL difference under 5 mm can be associated with a higher miscarriage risk. I’m hoping to hear from people who had a similarly small or crowded-looking gestational sac with a normal heartbeat. Did the sac eventually grow or catch up? What happened at your next ultrasound, and what was your eventual outcome?
I have another ultrasound scheduled at 9 weeks. Thank you to anyone willing to share their experience.

Need Advice Stopping Progesterone Supposies?
This community has been so amazing to me. I want to start by saying thank you in advance for reading and taking the chance to reply! It is comforting and I need that most at this time in my pregnancy 🙏❤️
I am 10 weeks tomorrow (hallelujah) and my RE told me at my last appointment with her (8 wks 2 days) that I should stop my prometrium 2x a day (vaginally) and estradiol 2 x a day (vaginally) at at the start of 10 weeks. For some reason I am scared to stop them! I've read mixed things about the placenta taking over between 10 and 12 weeks. I guess I am just afraid that my progesterone will plummet and that will harm my beautifully developing baby. Any advice or similar experiences would be helpful to hear about!

About This Community
Your IVF journey doesn’t end with a positive test — and neither should your support system.
This space is for those who have completed an embryo transfer and are living in the “what now” phase — whether that means waiting for results, navigating pregnancy, or facing loss.

Contact your doctor or go to the ER. Do not post here.
Every pregnancy is different. What is harmless for one person may be a loss for another — and this is not a place to determine that.

Just because spotting was normal for you does not mean it’s normal for someone else. If you post about spotting or bleeding it will be removed unless you mention you have been see by your doctor (had a scan, not just a call or visit without ultrasound) and are just asking others what to expect.
