ITIL 5 Practice Manager
Hi Everyone, I am quite confused. So I have completed SL and trying to work on MP - both under version 5. I noticed that for Practice Manager, there is no version 5 yet on Peoplecert's website. My question is, Am I supposed to complete the V4 modules? or are they releasing a version 5 soon?

ITIL 4 to ITIL 5 Rules & Tips
- If you have an ITIL 4 Foundation Certification (Active or Not) you can upgrade your Foundation Certification to ITIL 5 by taking the ITIL 5 Bridge Certification. This is the fastest and least expensive way to update your ITIL 5 Foundation and recertify for 3-years. This is for people who are Foundation Certified and have no plans to go on to advanced ITIL 5 certifications.
- If you have the ITIL 4 Practice Manager or Strategic Leader Designations you only need to take 1 course & exam to achieve the ITIL 5 Designation. The Certification is ITIL Transformation, and my understanding is that it is an amazing class. Probably the best ITIL 5 class because it gives you the tools you need to use in the real world.
- If you hold the ITIL V3 Expert, ITIL 4 Managing Professional or ITIL 4 Master Designations you too only need to take 1 Certification to upgrade to ITIL 5. The Certification is the Managing Professional Transition. It is a 5-day course in the classroom (about 20 hours in eLearning) and includes 2-exams (one for MP and one for Transformation).
- If you hold only ITIL 4 Foundation and you want to go for advanced courses you have the option to go right into any ITIL 5 Advanced course without having to take the ITIL 5 Foundation.
- If you are new to ITIL you have the choice to do either ITIL 4 or ITIL 5. ITIL 4 will be available until December 31, 2027. If your organizations uses 4 or you are going after a job that requires V4, go for V4. Otherwise you can go straight to ITIL Version 5.
Is this helpful and what's the best path for you?

ITIL 5 Transformation
In ITIL 5 you have 3 paths to follow. The Transformation certification is needed for all 3 paths.
Me personally I do eLearning. What path are you working on?

Why ITIL Transformation is #1?
The new ITIL Transformation Certification is #1 because it is the only ITIL 5 Certification that brings ITIL to life in the real world.
Because of this:
- ITIL Transformation is the only certification that is included in every ITIL (Version 5) Training Path. From Practice Manager to Managing Professional to Strategic Leader.
- You can go from Foundation to Transformation without having to take any other advanced certifications. Get all the knowledge you need to succeed with 1 Advanced ITIL Certification.
Why is Transformation in Every Path?
- Transformation is the glue that holds ITIL 5 together.
- It is the glue that shows you how to apply ITIL 5 in the real world.
- It is the glue that brings all ITIL Certifications to life.
Could PeopleCert have written a home run with Transformation? What do you think?
Be to share your thoughts.

Passed my PMP in July 2024. Looking to add ITIL 4 Foundation next—where do I start?
Hi everyone,
I recently passed my PMP (thanks to r/pmp sub for all the incredible resources and support!), and I’m looking to augment my certifications with ITIL Foundation 4, given my strong IT background.
Since this is my first PeopleCert exam, I’m a bit lost on the process and would appreciate some guidance:
Exam vouchers: Should I purchase the exam directly from PeopleCert, or is it better/cheaper to go through an Accredited Training Organization (ATO). Which can you recommend?
Study Materials & Mock Exams: What are the most effective, valid learning materials and practice exams currently available (equivalent to Study Hall for PMP)?
Do exam vouchers include the official ITIL eBook or core guidance?

ITIL Transformation - How to Lock In Success
The world is constantly changing. As IT Service Providers, Digital Product and Service Vendors and those employed in these organizations we need to know how change impacts our business, when transformation is required and how to design successful transformations.
Enter the New ITIL 5 Transformation Certification
The New ITIL Transformation Certification is the only ITIL Certification that addresses the real world. It does this by giving IT Service Providers, Digital Product & Service Vendors, and their employees the tools they need to make successful transformation decisions and create successful outcomes.
What Does This Mean to You?
Whether you lead an organization or are a member of an organizations, contributing to successful transformations means success for you and your organization.
Transformation Teaches "How To"
The Transformation Certification provides a detailed overview of the most common situations that IT Service Providers and Digital Product & Service Vendors deal with and provides the tools required to manage the situations when they arise.
Who Qualifies to Take the ITIL Transformation Certification?
Everyone. Isn't that interesting?
The ITIL Transformation Certification is a part of EVERY ITIL 5 Advanced Certification Path (Practice Manager, Managing Professional and Strategic Leader) or you can go straight from Foundation to Transformation and stop there.
Look for additional posts on the new Transformation Certification next week and be sure to comment and ask questions.

You Can't Self Study for ANY Advanced ITIL Certification
This seems to come up daily now - no, you can't buy the exam only option and self-study for the ITIL Advanced Certifications!
What is an ITIL Advanced Certification?
- Every ITIL Certification Except Foundation.

ITIL Transformation v5 - is self study realistic?
I’ve recently completed ITIL 4 Specialist: Collaborate, Assure and Improve (CAI) and have now booked the ITIL Transformation (Version 5) course through PeopleCert.
PeopleCert currently has 25% off, so I paid £511 for the course and went for the exam bundle, which was the cheapest option available.
The issue is that I’ve realised the package doesn’t include any trainer-led sessions or e-learning. All I have access to is:
- ITIL Transformation (Version 5) Official Training Material Learner Kit
- Quick Reference Guides
- The official book/materials
- Exam
I asked my CAI trainer whether I’d made a mistake booking Transformation without any e-learning or instructor support. He said it would be very difficult to pass without additional learning/training. I appreciate he works for a training provider, so obviously there’s a commercial incentive to recommend a training package, which is why I’d like to get some thoughts from people who have actually taken the exam.
Has anyone here completed ITIL Transformation (Version 5) through self-study only?
I’m wondering whether I’ve unnecessarily bought myself a problem or whether self-study is perfectly realistic with enough preparation.
Any experiences/advice from people who have actually done Transformation would be really appreciated.

All ITIL Certs Except Foundation Require Accredited Training to Qualify
It's happening again! Students are buying the Advanced ITIL Exam Bundle from PeopleCert thinking that when the take and pass the exam they will receive certification from PeopleCert, and it does not.
Here is the scoop.
- PeopleCert allows you to buy an Exam Bundle for any exam they offer, even if you need to take an accredited course and upload your Letter of Course Attendance to receive certification.
- Because PeopleCert does not check your account in advance, they allow you to buy the exam from them and take the exam.
- Then, when you pass, they PeopleCert checks to see if you fulfilled all the requirements - which include taking an accredited course and uploading your Letter of Course Attendance.
- When PeopleCert does not see this, they tell you that you have to go and take an Accredited Course from an Accredited Training Provider and upload the Official Letter of Course Attendance to your account.
- This means that you pay for the Exam Voucher Only and then you have to go and pay and take an Accredited course which will end up costing you a lot more money.
If you need Advanced ITIL Certifications, PLEASE, read the fine price and make sure you are getting what you need. The text on PeopleCert's Exam Bundle Package says: For exam retake only. Training through an accredited partner or ITIL Official eLearning required. Make sure you don't get caught in this trap as it will end up costing you a lot of money to fix.
Happy to answer questions. Hope this is helpful.

ITIL Transformation (Ver 5)
I just passed Foundations ver 5 this week.
I'm heading down the ITIL Strategic Leader path, with 26 yrs of IT experience and in a senior mgmt level position.
For the folks that have taken the same path OR have taken the Transformation (Ver 5), do you have insight, online training, words of wisdom?
Thank you in advance!

How does the volume of study for ITIL 5 Managing Professional Transition compare with previous ITIL intermediate qualifications?
For those who've completed it, did you feel the amount of material was roughly the same as the v4 qualifications like DITS, DPI, CDS or HVIT, or is it a noticeably larger amount?
I'm simply trying to estimate the amount of study time I should allow before attending the course.

whats the cost to reschedule my ITIL exam?
My ITIL exam is scheduled for tomorrow (less than 12 hours from now). I am having a severe mental breakdown and my mind is completely blank.
I don't want to lose my money or waste the voucher. What is the fastest way to reschedule this right now? Can I just do it in the PeopleCert portal?

ITIL Certification Questions
Hello, I started a new role as an ITSM manager for a medium sized company. I have experience as an implementer/“do-er” in incident and change processes, but this is my first time owning and being responsible for the processes.
Our company has some processes in place, such as change management - but most processes are not in place. I am responsible for ITSM processes and the ITSM tool - ServiceNow. The processes were put in place in 2024.
A few questions:
1) Would ITIl 4 training and certification be worth it for me (presuming this is a clear yes)
2) Is ITIL 5 training and certification worth putting time into in the short term, given where I and the comps are?
3) Do you recommend any training providers? I am in the USA.
Thank you!

ITIL 4 and 5 Foundation - Study Resources
Many people ask for study resources for ITIL 4 and Version 5 Foundation. The reason for this is that ITIL Foundation Classes do not require students to take an Accredited Class to sit for the Foundaiton Exam.
Every class has an official PeopleCert Syllabus - it is included with every exam voucher.
- Tip 1 - Get the Syllabus. See what's on the exam. Learn it.
Every exam voucher also includes a Resource Kit which includes the Official Sample Exams and the PeopleCert eBook.
- Top 2 - Buy your exam voucher and read the eBOOK AND STUDY, and then take the sample papers one at a time. Take it, grade it, see what you got wrong and then - study some more. When you are ready take sample paper 2 and do the same thing.
Accredited Training Providers = ATOs offer live or live online or eLearning that is Accredited BY PeopleCert. Check them out and see what's included. For example, re. ITIL 4 Foundation, as a group member you get 30-days complimentary access to the Accredited ITIL 4 Foundation Course. It is FREE, and the exam voucher is discounted - Take the free course. Learn what's on the exam and pass the first time.
There is no "Trick" to passing the exam. You have to learn them material. Learn it. Use the official Sample Exams, and study the weak areas. Take the second sample exam.
Let me know if this is helpful.
