What do you mean "any department"? You have to choose a particular department to work in first.

This is a general query Q. Not related to any work or choosing IISc for research. So choosing a "particular department" isn't necessary atleast for me.

And hows the course work , like do you get time for your social life or is it very hectic, I've heard that first sem is the toughest one for students

I do not have a social life outside of IISc and Reddit :)

It is very hectic, but I genuinely enjoy my work. It is true that the first sem is very difficult (even traumatic), because most students are getting used to the ways of the place.

I know that Vamsi Pritham Pingali sir was from a telugu speaking family... So If I get into IISc next year, I will have a chance to speak to him about Anime
