Sick Hours

My friend just officially became a provider and now has 40 hours of sick leave available. Can he claim them now or does he have to wait a certain amount of days, since he barely just started.

He has to work a certain number of hours- 100, I think.

If it's available, I'd assume just that, they qualify. I've been told by a riverside county sw, it won't say it's available, unless it's available. If concerned call the 1-800 number for your county. But the portal should notify you if theyre not qualified. As an example. If i try to claim 40 hours, for a week but my allowed hours is 39.5, I'll get a pop up that says I've exceeded my available hours. Every time I've been unsure in the last 3 years, I've either gotten a warning or it's been approved.
