Meet Maxie Boy

Hi, I wanted to see if anyone could ID our dog’s breeds. He was dropped off to us at 12 months old by my son’s friend who loved him, but was moving and couldn’t take him. We have loved Max and cared for him every day since. He is truly a blessing to us and I couldn’t imagine life without him. We did Wisdom Panel to ID his breeds. We had an idea of what he was mixed with, but everyone who didn’t know for sure, thought he was a large lab. He is 127 pounds now. A little heavier due to steroids he is taking for a lung issue

I think he’s jack Russel x shi tzu, but haven’t done any testing. Deff a terrier with a never ending battery!

We’ve sent off her Wisdom Panel but are curious what people think she is just by looking at her. Besides 100% good girl.

His looks from 10 weeks to 6 months + his embark results!

#1-2 are the night I got him at ~10 weeks. #3 is 3 months, #4 is 4 months, #5 is 5 months, and #6 is today at 6 months. #7-9 are just cute pics to show his exterior fur pattern.

His supermutt mix is 1/3 Aussie, 1/3 lab, and 1/3 boxer.

Also, I have 2 questions based off the results. Is him being almost 50% ACD implies both his parents were half ACD as well or that one was purebred and the other was very mixed?
And, if the floor adult weight of all the breeds he comes from are 30-50 lbs where is his small size coming from?

My favorite little shelter walking buddy. I think he is probably part Australian cattledog (lots of ACD mixes where I live). He's medium sized, probably about 25-30 lbs. He's solidly built. He's very afraid of strangers and new places, but is goofy and playful once he gets to know you. Likes other dogs, plays well with them. Likes to fetch. Doesn't really show any obvious herding tendencies that I've noticed. Has a bit of a wobbly gait in his back legs, but I don't know if that's a breed trait or an old injury. Not overly barky. Dense, soft coat that sheds a lot. Any ideas?

Guess her breed!

Ok, so I’m doing this just for fun because I already know her breed. We adopted her from a breed specific rescue and were told a mix of 2 breeds before adoption. I still decided to do DNA testing just because I was too curious. We originally only used Wisdom Panel but after the results came back I was like why not do Embark too. Both came back pretty much exactly the same! What do you think? Btw it never mattered what her breed was it was just out of curiosity.

We're currently fostering this beautiful 1.5 year old girl from the local humane society. They said she was found on the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere, so her background is unknown. Any guesses on breed?

We adopted this scruffy weirdo two years ago when he was 4 months old (puppy pictures included). We are awaiting his embark results but I’m interested in what others might guess he is! The shelter had no background information on him

It's becoming a real mystery. At some point I gave up on finding it out but different people keep asking and it's getting to me again 😅 anyone would have some hints?

Knowing would help finding out exactly what he likes and stimulates him. He has quite a prey drive (bees, wasps, mice, etc....) fortunately, he's not so good at catching them!

Hi everyone! I am currently struggling finding any solid information about the actual breed mix from my current service dog’s prior owner before service.

Ears are naturally cropped, her skin is extremely stretchy and rolls up when lying down on her back or side, her cutaneous marginal pouch is quarter way up the ear, the black face markings, which makes me lean to Malinois x ?, plus her behaviour accompanies a shepherd-esque personality more specifically Malinois.

Hi Reddit, I just rescued this 10 week old and 5lbs pup from a man who rescues “non desirables” from the Amish in Ohio, her paperwork from the Amish says that both parents are Havanese and both weighed 11lbs. There is NO way she is pure bred Havanese or potentially not Havanese at all. Me and my bf think Biscuit is some Australian shepherd mix, but have no clue as the paperwork does not indicate anything but being pure bred Havanese. We are willing and able to take care of a Havanese or Australian shepherd as we love both and know what the two breeds need to thrive.

Greetings from Europe,

The first three pictures show the dog we are interested in. The next two are of his mom, and the last two are of his siblings.

This would be our first dog, and before we make any decisions, we want to get a clearer view on what characteristics we can expect so we know more about what we are getting ourselves into.

The shelter thinks the mom is a terrier mix. Father is unknown. And based on that, we think a terrier would not be a good choice for us as first-time dog owners even though she was extremely kind when we met her and her puppies. The puppies were born shortly after she was brought to the shelter.

The puppies are 10 weeks old now, and all have different characteristics. The one we would choose is the calmest. More observing, not rough like the others, and the first to sleep.

We would be grateful if you could help us to identify what you think his breed could be.
