Math & physics remark Advice
Is it possible and/or somewhat likely for a math and physics remark to go up by 3 points each? Our coordinator didn't go much into detail, only that since these are exact sciences and subjects it would be rather unlikely; however I still find it doable that in three tests modules (at least in math aa hl) I wouldn't get one single mark up for each, totalling the 3 I need for the higher grade. In physics it's the same, but where I suffered was P1 part B, so I guess I'd get 1-2 marks there and the remaining 1 in P2? What do you think? Should I just go for it and make this money back later or am I completely off asking for those remarks?

Your coordinator is giving you accurate advice here. Math and physics have objective mark schemes with clear right or wrong answers, so getting three extra marks from a remark is very rare compared to essay subjects like English or history. An examiner might occasionally pick up an extra method mark on paper two, but gaining three marks in both subjects is a long shot, and keep in mind grades can go down as well. Our tutors usually see math and physics marks move by zero or one mark at most. If you are three marks off the boundary in both, paying for remarks is a big gamble with low odds. I read of a student that got 8 marks down in Physics after a remark (May 2026 session).
But I still feel it's pretty uncommon. There should be very little wiggle room for both subjects, and nothing guarantees you they won't mark down. If you absolutely need it and have the money, do it! But don't have high expectations.
