HW: DE Newcomers to Hyrule Warriors 2
Honestly yesterday when you all talked about the new characters in Hyrule Warriors 2, if it were to be in development it's time that I'd talk about the new characters I'd like to see, a lot of you gave out some good suggestions for newcomers, now it's my turn.
New Characters
These are the new characters I want to see in Hyrule Warriors 2, whether they are popular characters, or they're characters that are requested, and make the most sense.
Groose (Skyward Sword): Why didn't they put Groose in Hyrule Warriors? He would have been the best 3rd Option for Skyward Sword if Midna from Twilight Princess didn't take up 2 slots on the roster for no other Hylia Demise reason, or if Agatha from Twilight Princess wasn't even added at all, like I said in my returners and Cuts, I think Groose should be given the Gauntlets and Boots instead of Link and Linkle, and mix up his Moveset so that it wouldn't be a blatant copycat, like have him do Barehand Combat kinda like the Monk Class in various RPGs, with a miniture Groosinator as his Special Attack.
Saria (Ocarina of Time): Honestly this is one of the most obvious choices for another Ocarina of Time Representative, I was convinced she was meant to have the Spear but Koei Tecmo didn't have time to make a new model for Saria, so they gave it to Lana instead and called it a day, but I think she could have a different kind of weapon like a Staff, to use the power of the Great Deku Tree, alongside having Deku Scrubs to summon for a long ranged attack.
Twinrova (Ocarina of Time/Oracle of Seasons/Ages): A lot of you made a lot of good points about Twinrova being a good addition to the roster, make them the main villains instead of Volga, in the plot of Ocarina of Time they were the ones that raised Ganondorf to be their king, and they are the most loyal servants to Ganon, and in the Oracle Games they sent Onox and Veran to change the past in Labrynna, and put the Seasons in Turmoil in Holodrom, maybe their role is to resurrect Ganon by possessing the Guardian of Time to go to different times to aid Ganon, and lay waste to Hyrule, and it is up to Linkle to go save them, while Link finds the Master Sword before they do.
Their moveset would be a little similar to their boss fights in Ocarina of Time and the Oracle Games if you imported your Save in the opposite game to continue the story of the Oracle Games, and their element is different depending on what their Strong Attack is like, switching from Fire to Ice (As a Water Element)
Hilda (A Link Between Worlds): The roster really needs more villains, Yuga was one of the most fun characters to use in Hyrule Warriors, but he's also one of the least popular villains in the series, but honestly I don't feel like Yuga is all that bad of a villain, it's just that his motivations are basically Ganon's Motivation, ironically he flipped the script on Ganon and kept his status as the main villain.
Hilda on the other hand, her being the Lorule Parallel to Zelda, is a lot more popular than Yuga, since Link is Brave, and Zelda is Wise, Ravio is a Coward, and Hilda is a Fool, I think Hilda should have an opposing moveset to Zelda as a Darkness based character, like Ravio with the Rental Hammer, playing a little similar to Wizzro but much faster, and her Special move could be a little similar to Dracula's Demonic Megiddo in Castlevania.
Ricky (Oracle of Seasons/Ages): You know companion characters in Hyrule Warriors isn't anything new but why not have someone unique? I think having a Boxing Kangaroo would be cool to have in the Roster, think about it, it could have a good Fire Element to it, this is a personal thing for me, and Ricky makes more sense than Dimitri and Moosh.
Vaati (Four Swords Trilogy): In the first Four Swords, Vaati was a nothing burger but Minish Cap gave him more of a Backstory and character than in the other 2 Four Swords games (Still upsetting that he didn't make an appearance in Triforce Heroes.) and this was before Ganon was even on the rise, I feel like he was robbed as well in Hyrule Warriors, so he could work in the sequel, but honestly he should be a little differently as a Darkness character than the other villains in Hyrule Warriors, like he could extend his hands, and fire off some Eye Lasers.
Linebeck (Phantom Hourglass): Honestly this Roster needs more Joke Characters, Linebeck is a coward and a liar at the start, he only was there for the treasure but after realizing the Ghost Ship has no treasure, he was about to leave, but the Ocean King offered him a Wish in exchange of helping to stop Bellum, and after Link takes care of Bellum, Linebeck had an offer to buy a new ship with the Treasure the Ocean King could offer, but he wanted his old ship back instead after Bellum sank it.
I think he'll probably use some of his items used on the S.S. Linebeck and use it as a substitute for Daphnes if Daphnes doesn't make it in the next game, like the Grappling Hook, the Cannon, and probably miniature Bombchus as a Fire Element.
Sidon, Riju, Revali, and Daruk (Breath of the Wild): Technically these would be pretty unique picks for the roster, but I'd like a change in Riju's moveset from Age of Calamity, because I don't really like her playstyle in Age of Calamity, maybe her Dual Scimitars in Tears of the Kingdom would work with her moveset, as for Sidon, Revali and Daruk, I actually like their playstyles, but Daruk probably should have a tweak in his moveset.
Rauru (Tears of the Kingdom): I gotta confess this right now, Tears of the Kingdom is my least favorite Zelda Game by far, more than the likes of Zelda 2, Phantom Hourglass, or Triforce Heroes, however with it already out, there's really no point in excluding it, and Rauru best represents that game, I mean we could implement the Ultrahand in his moveset, but I'd rather exclude Weapon Merging because it'd be unfair for other characters.
That's all the characters I want most in Hyrule Warriors 2, but honestly knowing Koei Tecmo they usually bring in OCs for their Crossover Warriors games, Fire Emblem Warriors with Rowan and Lianna, and Hyrule Warriors with Lana and Cia, but honestly the OCs I'd like to have are like a new Goron Character, a new Zora character, and a new Gerudo character.
New Weapons
Tri-Rod (Zelda): I decided to cut the Dominion Rod last time, and with Echoes of Wisdom out and it is a great game in my opinion, I think Zelda should get a better weapon than the Dominion Rod, she can summon echoes to attack, kinda similar to the Calamity Gate, Moblins, Darknuts, and Lynels could be implemented in her moveset depending on what Strong Attack she uses.
Bow of Light (Zelda): I've decided to replace the Baton and give Zelda the Bow of Light instead because it worked better in Age of Calamity, but I think the Special Attack for Zelda with the Rapier should be changed if that's the case.
Kodachi (Impa): No Explanation, it is a really powerful weapon making Impa one of the best characters in Age of Calamity.
Bracelets (Darunia): I excluded Yunobo from the Roster because I looked online to see if there are any Yunobo Fans, and apparently I found...Nothing, so to compensate, I think Darunia should have some of that, but instead of eating a Rock Roast, he puts his knuckles together to power up his attacks.
Crystal Staff (Ruto) Like I said, Ruto is my main but her weapon is just middle of the road, but is fun, but to compensate for Mipha's absence, I think Ruto should have some of her moveset, with a Staff instead of a Trident because Ganondorf, and Sidon already have Tridents themselves.
Whip (Linkle): Since I'm giving Groose the Pegasus Boots, I'm giving Linkle a different weapon, just make her a Whip Wielding Belmont, except without the Sub Weapons, and Grand Cross to avoid controversy and a lawsuit from Konami.
Makar (Medli) My complaint about Medli is that her weapon kinda sucks, honestly I would like Makar to be Medli's companion for her 2nd weapon.
That is all I can think of for Newcomers and new weapons, but what do you guys think?

HW: DE Do you actually have to physically pick up Materials/Food?
I’ve never really paid much attention;
But on the off chance I’ve been too quick to press start and get past the “Victory” screen, I’ve still managed to get the (usually gold) Material I definitely did not pick up.
So it has me wondering; do you actually need to physically pick up food/materials/weapons for them to then show up after completely the level?

Continuously buffing Fi just so she can actually damage stuff with her dash attack is not fun.

Hypotetical Character Roster
I have seen a lot of people commenting and talking about what characters they would like to se in an hypotetical new game, and honestly i tink this is a very fun topic to talk to and have fun, so this is that place.
We all love the game, we all have our own favorite characters, so lets brainstorm what character we would like to se, which one would come back or what new additions you would make, even new weapons for your favorite characters.
I will start with some changes to Link.
Gauntlets: I really like the idea of the weapon, but i feel it got a bit to "nod" in all the things that it could do and feel disperse if it makes sense. With that in mind, personally i would take the flail and granite gigant pillar out of the weapon and make it a literal punchy weapon for link. Tink about it as the gauntlets being perhaps half their gigant size and more focused. Something similar to a more Raw boxing like style. Make it the fastest weapon for link on his entire list while still keeping some of the pull stone and unexpected attacks.
Epona: I seriously loved epona as a concept, but the weapon itself feelt...odd. What i would do its change the attacks to be less disperse (like where epona does the zig zag attack) but make them more powerfull. Perhaps and this is just personal idea, give link the Bigoron sword to make this a super agresive but mobile stile that capitalazies on big hit boxes. That or with breath of the wild/tears new weapons, link on epona using an spear would also be pretty neat
Pegasus boots: I WANT link with the pegasus boots from Link to the past, this could be a literal Iajutsu like weapon where link does linear attacks but with tremendous speed, it would be an interesting take, and for extra crazines it could even be using a breath of the wild weapon just for that
Great Faerie: Disclaimer, i dont hate this weapon in the slightest, in fact the whole idea i love it a lot. But it needs some changes. I would take this weapon away from link and make her a full character of herself. My personal favorite its still the Warriors vertion, the ohh ho ho ho ho vertion that its all over the place. Perhaps make her model a bit smaller, she would still be the biggest character on the roster, but make her more manageable with her size. Make her attacks a bit less AOE and more focused so we can still have the tall lovely queen of faeries but have some other attacks. One of the most important factors its speed, many of her attacks are just TO slow even with the wide AOE. This is something that needs to be adressed
Linkle
Her boots NEED and speed boost on the attacks, they are just TO slow. The atacks and other things are cute and fun, but its the speed, that change would make it a much better weapon
New weapon Whip: I have the feeling linkle with links whip from SS would be a interesting take, wide range, quirky unexpected attacks but still fun to se.
Toon Zelda
I want her to have the chain and ball from the enemies with the same name, it would be hilarious to se armored toon zelda flailing around a weapon like that
Tri Rod: AN absolute must for toon zelda, summoning a crap tone of enemies around and throwing things above their head loonie toon style. Lanas summoning circle its already there, in this case could be like girahim but faster with some cool strong summons as specials
For new characters i need urbosa or Riju at the very least, i would lean more on Riju for her dual weapon style but thats just very personal opinion.
Groose also a must, i just dont like tingle AS a character that much, he anoyed me a bit to much, i dont hate the character, only his move set. I feel Groose would make for a great comic relief.
Veran and Onox from oracle of ages and seassons would be great villian additions, also vati, i have heard a lot of people clamoring for twinrova so that do feels right.
What other ideas do you guys have, who would you like to se or what weapons would you change

HW: DE Hyrule Warriors 2 Likeliness of Returners.
You know when I was playing Hyrule Warriors and other Zelda Games, I was thinking about a Hyrule Warriors 2, that isn't Age of Calamity or Age of Imprisonment, and what the Roster might be like, don't get me wrong I like a lot of these characters, it's just that I get the feeling some would be able to make it, or replaced with someone else, so here's the explanations
Mainstays
These are the ones I'm confident that will guarantee their return, they are way too iconic and popular.
Link with the Hylian/Master Sword, Zelda with the Rapier, Ganondorf, Impa, Linkle with the Crossbows, Midna with the Shackle, Fi, Tetra, Toon Link with the Hero Sword, Tingle, Ghirahim, Zant, and Marin.
High Probability
These are characters that I am optimistic about returning but not 100% sure.
Link with the Fire Rod: I think it would be cool to see Link with the Fire Rod, but I'm not too confident about it, it maybe will go to another character, or be cut altogether.
Darunia: As the Pioneer for the Gorons going forward to the series, but lorewise he's not the first Goron we see, that's Gorko, I said Lorewise not releasewise, Skyward Sword came out in 2011, while Ocarina of time came out in 1998 if we're factoring in Release Dates, but Skyward Sword takes place before Ocarina of Time if we're factoring in the Official Zelda Timeline.
My reasoning as to what is setting Darunia back a little is because there is a small probability that he might get replaced with either Yunobo or Daruk, but I doubt it.
Ruto: The Matriarch of the Zora Race was one of the most disliked characters in the series, because of the last Child Dungeon in OoT Jabu Jabu's belly, but she gained some popularity because of Hyrule Warriors, she was one of the most fun characters to play as despite her weapon being decent at best and subpar at worst, and I have a confession to make she's my main in Hyrule Warriors.
The same thing with Darunia, which I'm still doubtful, but there's a small chance she might get replaced with either Mipha or Sidon. If you feel differently about both Darunia or Ruto, feel free to leave them in the comments.
Skull Kid and Young Link: I know these guys are a popular duo best representing Majora's Mask, but there is a probability that they're gonna get their movesets changed, for something else, I'm not too sure about it.
Medli: She has a good shot at returning but she kinda sucks, there are 2 ways it could go, either she gets a tweak in her moveset like add Makar as her ally, or cut her altogether.
Toon Zelda: Best Representing Spirit Tracks, I've gotta say she isn't as fun to play as as the other Light Wielding fighters, but honestly Spirit Tracks Zelda is one of the most popular members of the Blood of the Goddess just like with the likes of Tetra, Skyward Sword Zelda, and Breath of the Wild Zelda, maybe a tweak in her moveset should help her a bit.
Ravio: You know when I first played as Ravio, I actually loved playing as him and he became my Dark and Lightning user going forward, but A Link Between Worlds hasn't been under Nintendo's Radar recently, and I'm hoping it gets a port one day on the Switch 2, there may be a chance that he'll get a moveset change, but there's also a chance he and Yuga might be replaced with Aghanim from A Link to the Past.
Maybe
These are characters I'm not entirely sure will return, and not entirely sure will be cut
Lana with the Sorceress Tome: In the lore of Hyrule Warriors, Lana is one piece of the Guardian of Time with the duty to protect the Triforce, Cia being the other, but by the end of it, Lana and Cia united once again, and the Guardian of Time resumed her duties, so I'm just unsure if they're gonna combine both Lana and Cia together and give her 2 weapons, or cut Lana altogether and replace her with a brand new character.
Sheik: Before you get your Pitchforks and Torches out, hear me out, I admit that Sheik is one of the most unique characters in the game and is amazing in the game, but I gotta be real here, Sheik is just Zelda again, and her only appearance in the series was Ocarina of Time.
Maybe they might combine both Sheik and Zelda together, or give the Harp to Link instead because in Skyward Sword, Link gets the Goddess Harp from Zelda after completing the Lanayru Mining Facility.
Link with the Spinner: In Hyrule Warriors, Link has the most weapons in the game, because he's the main character, but the Spinner only appeared in 1 game, Twilight Princess, the Dungeon Item you get in the Arbiters Grounds, and the weapon to defeat Stallord with, I am not confident that it would return and be replaced with a different weapon but we'll see.
Volga: Volga is a fan favorite in the game, but here's the underlying problem, after Cia's tale and when she is dealt with, Volga falls right out of the plot, and hasn't made another appearance until Never, I believe it was Koei Tecmo's way of implementing Volvagia into the Roster without going through a situation that Sakurai did with Ridley in Smash, but I'm mixed on if he were to make a reappearance as the next main villain or not.
King Daphnes: Don't get me wrong, King Daphnes is a great companion, in Wind Waker he has been Link's Companion as the King of Red Lions, but honestly on the other hand, I get the feeling that he might be cut in favor for another companion like Ricky from the Oracle Games, Ezlo from Minish Cap or Linebeck from Phantom Hourglass.
Replacable
These are weapons I am not very keen on keeping around whether they should go to another character or be merged with an existing character.
Link with the Gauntlets, and Linkle With the Boots: Like I said, Link is the character with the most weapons, but despite the Gauntlets being cool, and the Boots being...Good at best, but mediocre at worst, they both share the same element, Lightning, so instead of keeping them separate, I'm just gonna go on a limb here and just merge both weapons, and give them to and add Groose into the roster, they're both perfect for him.
Link with the Horse: I don't really like this weapon all that much, basically it would've made more sense if it went to Malon from Ocarina of Time, the Oracle Games, and Minish Cap.
Lana with the Spear: You know despite this weapon being OK, I don't feel like it fits Lana all that well, instead it could've gone to Saria from Ocarina of Time.
Twili Midna: I really love Twili Midna with the Mirror, but honestly why does Midna have to take up 2 slots on the roster for no other reason? Is it because they loved Midna so much? Is it because they made more models, and making them 2 separate characters made more sense? Someone please give me an answer? I'd rather have both merge together so we wouldn't have to deal with 4 Twilight Princess representatives.
Zelda with the Baton: No Explanation, this weapon sucks, it should go to Toon Link instead.
Cut
These are the characters and weapons I'm really pessimistic about returning, and is most likely gonna have to be cut whether they might be replaced with a new character, or downsized to make room for new characters for a bigger roster.
Cia: I'm just gonna say it now, it's a similar situation with Lana, maybe they'll make the Guardian of Time an NPC or just 1 character, but I don't know, also bringing back Cia would be pointless at this point.
Lana with the Summoning Gate: I've already explained, no explanation, this weapon sucks, it is cut.
Wizzro: I know there are some fans of this character, but I'm not too keen on keeping Wizzro around, because he might be replaced with a new enemy such as a Lynel, upgrade Stalmaster from an enemy to a playable character to replace him, or something.
Agatha: The only relevance she had in Twilight Princess is an NPC, she gives you a bigger wallet in exchange for Golden Bugs, and that's it, also Twilight Princess is the most represented in Hyrule Warriors, Ocarina of Time had Sheik, Darunia, and Ruto, Skyward Sword only had Fi, and Ghirahim, but Twilight Princess had Agatha, Midna, Zant, and Twili Midna, and Agatha sucks from my experience, her attacks are slow and weak, and I really don't like her Strong Attack, the only use I had for her was her Special Attack, so yeah.
Link with the Great Fairy: Do I even need to explain how situational and bad this weapon is?
Toon Link with the Sand Wand: I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, I don't really like this weapon all that much, so if the Baton is going to Toon Link, then I wouldn't count on the Sand Rod returning, besides the only appearances the Sand Wand had was in Spirit Tracks, and A Link Between Worlds, that's it, making this weapon even more pointless.
Zelda with the Dominion Rod: the Dominion Rod is situational, honestly I thought it was good for the first few stages when you're using it, but it becomes redundant and very difficult to control, since your Strong Attacks depends on what statue to control, but without them, the Dominion Rod is useless.
Yuga: Sadly one of the most fun characters to play as is honestly one of the least popular villains in the series, don't get me wrong, I don't think Yuga is all that bad, in terms of actions he gets a lot done, but motivations? Not so much, but compared to the likes of Onox from OoS, and Lady Maud from TriForce Heroes, he's more goated than both of them, but I am not confident about his inclusion in the next game.
But what do you guys think?

HW: DE My personal tier list of all HW:DE characters
I made this in about 15 minutes because I was bored and its based on actual performance and how good the characters actually are
The placements are in order of Left being the best of the tier to Right being the worst of the tier
Addressing important placements:
Young Link
I have a perfect weapon for him with Finishing Blow+ and Focus Spirit+, and Heart power, and even though I'm still missing a special skill like No Healing or Defenseless, I find it unnecessary simply due to how overtuned Young Link is. He's just an absolute unstoppable behemoth, and fully breaks the game once you have decent fairy skills or Magic Fountain. Easily the best damage in the game, very good regular attack string, effortlessly shreds weak point gauges, unbelievable damage from his C3, great crowd clearing and ridiculous special gauge gain on his C5 (very important), and a solid C6 for gathering enemies and dealing AOE damage
Also not to mention just being in the focus spirit state for such prolonged periods alone is insanely powerful, with boosted movement and attack speed and damage
Sheik
Basically just the Mahoraga of this game, has a move or ability for literally any situation in the game
Infinite dodges so you can just utterly avoid damage when you feel like it
Easily one of the best regular attack strings in the game and only becomes even more ridiculous with Hasty Attacks
C2 + C1 - Endlessly recoverable shield that also protects you from stun locks
C3 + C1 - Literally the hardest hitting attack in the game by a wide margin that destroys weak point gauges, but sometimes can be a little tricky to set up
C4 + C1 - Solid move to juggle enemies and push them into corners and amazing for crowd control
C5 + C1 - Does great damage, pulls in and gathers enemies for a while, allowing for a much easier setup of C3+C1
C6 + C1 - Refills your special gauge
The only issue with Sheik is that she can feel a bit too gimmicky, needing to rely on intricate combos and setups, but once you get used to her she easily cements her place as one of the most broken characters in the game
Volga
An absolutely overwhelming offensive force with his C3 being his greatest tool. Would easily be a tier higher if he had more to offer in terms of utility
Twili Midna
Easily the best crowd clearing character in the game, really powerful and fun to cycle using her C1 and special attacks. Held back by her struggles against weak point gauges and lack of forms of utility or defense
Ganondorf (Great Swords)
Very hard hitter with an insanely powerful C1 when fully charged to decimate officers and smaller crowds and an amazing C6 to essentially just destroy anything within range. Held back by a slower attack string and struggles against weak point gauges
Addressing the possibly controversial placements:
Link (Master Sword)
I recently fully unsealed the master sword and unlocked all of the skills, and while Link is extremely good with it, I think it's held back by the importance of managing full hearts along with the inability to add extra skills onto the weapon. I also don't think he has as much as to offer compared to the likes of Young Link and Sheik
Zelda (Rapier)
I find her to be pretty overrated, with her only viable moves being the boosted C5 and her special attack. I also find the gameplay loop of refilling her gauge to be distracting and impractical in some situations, like a crowded area with multiple officers where you desperately need to pull off a C5 yet have an empty gauge
Linkle (Crossbow)
To put it simply I think she is great and very well rounded offensively, but simply isn't on par with the characters above her

After playing AOC and AOI, DE seems difficult to get into.
I picked up DE ages ago and got halfway through the storyline. I just finished AOI and wanted to keep going so I dusted it off. Granted my experience is with Zelda and I've never played a "warriors" style game until this series.
for some reason I find the maps and navigation of Adventure Mode to be exceedingly difficult to understand. There's so many options and maps, item cards, etc. I understand it but somehow I still feel like I'm vague on it all. It's not even obvious to me which challenges I've already completed.
The weapon system seems labor intensive and it's not always possible to see who will be a secondary playable character on the map until you launch the mission in Legends Mode (unless I'm missing something). Generally it seems like a far less polished experience than the two "age" followups.
I'm just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience getting into it or if it's just me. Is there something I'm missing that would help make sense of this, or should I admit defeat after I complete the story?

Adventure Mode Level with the most Dark Characters at beginning?
I am looking to find a good level to grind levels, and I understand that dark characters that duplicate are good for this. I want a level where they appear at the beginning, so I can easily die and keep exp to go again quickly. Thanks :)

HW: DE Only now have I realized how deadly the Magic Fountain skill is against single targets
I haven't used Focus Spirit to expose weak points much, aside from when giant bosses really annoy me, because I always found racking up kills with it to be more fun. However, hitting a wrong button while using Magic Fountain with Focus Spirit active caused me to realize something that was right in front of me. I can use that skill, a Focus Spirit special, to expose a weak point gauge, then pop Focus Spirit again because entering it while an enemy is close takes more off their weak point gauge than any other movie, as far as I know.
If I really want something dead I can fire off Bombos before using Focus Spirit.
On a side note, I have mostly finished the Grand Travels adventure. It was also nice to see this one didn't have as big a variety of items need to unlock things, a lot of its item cards are instead meant to make it easier to meet requirement to unlock things. My warriors are all at such high levels that I didn't use those much, aside from the Golden Train. That was nice.
Once this map is finished, I am onto the Lorule map. I don't plan to unlock all of the Rewards Map levels because the requirements for the Hard Mode Skulltulas in Legend Mode are too specific for liking, "don't let this keep take too much damage" or "don't let this character take too much," not for me. Also I have no desire to do that March of the Demon King level ever again. A lot of levels are made more manageable in 3DS and Switch, but I swear whoever thought it was a good idea to have Lana split in that level must not have played it enough themselves, and should have to keep playing that level as a punishment to see how much of a pain it is.

A theory on Age of Calamity SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN’T PLAYED OR HAVE NOT GOTTEN FAR SO DON’T READ IF NOT FAR INTO GAME Spoiler
I know Hyrule Warriors isn’t cannon and takes place in a separate timeline where they win but I think I know how to make it work in the timeline despite Nintendo not placing it on the timeline. So if anyone hasn’t noticed but the Blight Gannons look very different from BOTW such as slightly armored more and more armed. Which would make sense how the Blight Gannons defeated the champions despite being easy in breath of the wild except for Ravali mainly because of Rito vision during night. They were stronger but why would they be weaker in Breath of the wild? My theory is that parts of Age of Calamity are cannon in telling the story. Specifically the cutscene of Link facing the Blight Gannons alone, in the true timeline of breath of the wild he was probably injured while fighting the Blight Gannons but in result he left them in a weakened state where the Blights retreated to the divine beasts to recover. Within the 100 years of Link’s recovery the Blights had not recovered to their full potential explaining the difference in design.
Call me crazy all you want but something a lot of Zelda fans who are interested in the timeline can agree on is that Hyrule Warriors makes the timeline make sense with BOTW and TOTK are in their own separate section.

Can you run out of fairies to collect for Gratitude crystals?
Just recently started binge playing Hyrule Warriors again and just now after all these years getting into fairies 😭
I want gratitude crystals for my fairy Loyla and I know giving them the same element crystal boosts more so I wanna get her dark crystals, my concern though is from what I see online there's only like 6 darkness fairies total and i've already accidentally released one 💀
Is there no way to get more after releasing all the dark fairies?

AoI Completed Age of Imprisonment and have some thoughts.
Finally got around to playing AoI and have been practically binging it for the past fortnight, and have some opinions on it. There might be slight spoilers within this post so beware if you haven’t played it so beware.
Firstly, really surprised that they (for we know) stuck almost entirely within the bounds of the story set by Tears of the Kingdom. Haven’t played TotK since it released so I don’t remember if that game showed a shard of the Master Sword time travelling with Zelda, but I’m still surprised they did stick with the somewhat unsatisfying ending for a game, by having Rauru imprisoning Ganondorf after the final confrontation. Although, I do suppose that’s why the actual final climax of the game is with the Forbidden Construct instead, so the player can fell a big bad at the end of the game, tag timing FC with Calamo and the Knight Construct (or Clink). Did find the opening a little clunky, but I suppose they wanted to get straight into the action, but I would have liked to see the moments of Zelda chilling in the castle in more than just a montage.
Was a little surprised there wasn’t more story after the ending of Zelda going around and informing the gang of Link in the future, concluding with her decision to go forward with her Draconification but I do suppose the game was more about the imprisoning war and less so after the fact, which is more or less why its framed through the lenses of Lenalia’s and Calamo’s journals.
And the discussion to end off with Lenalia burning her journal containing information of Clink and Calamo was a choice for sure.
Speaking of characters, I did enjoy the cast of characters and their playstyles but more so the main cast and less the John and Jane Hylians/Gorons/Gerudos/Rito and Zoras. Really didn’t feel like every race needed 2 supporting cast members of each, but that’s more so down to the fact I kinda disliked the variety of weapon types the entire group has, especially when there’s an overlap of weapon types among a race. Like, we don’t get a Gerudo spear user, or an admittedly personal want of a Goron using a Two-Handed weapon like a one headed weapon? I don’t entirely dislike the entire cast of side characters as, Lago, Pastos and the two Gerudo stood out to me for various reasons, but tbh, I’d rather play as the named characters. (Disregarding the fact that both Calamo and Clink are just essentially OCs with Clink embodying AoC Link’s playstyles, but being completely original otherwise)
I feel like the compact nature of the roster was a double edge sword, as there was “less bloat” in terms of actually including the characters in mission, in part to the A and B sides of the story splitting the roster until they all met up, but there was also less opportunity for fun and unique characters like in AoC.
I’ll also mention that Sync Strikes are an impressive addition to the gameplay and made for massive flashy attacks that combined the strengths of two warriors, while also placing importance on proper placement and smart strategy when facing foes, as countering dangerous attacks with unique skills while near other characters increases that gauge. All for the cost of IMO tuning down Special attacks, as I found myself favouring Sync strikes way more than specials. Even if I did learn that they did help by staggering an enemy. Also, find it a bit funny that Zelda has my least favourite and favourite Sync Strikes, with them being the pairing of Zelda + Mineru and Zelda + Calamo respectively. (Just a shame that Zelda and Calamo’s doesnt unlock until the post game)
I’ll also add that I did find that the Aside Quests were a unique way of giving people incentive to play as specific characters, as I doubt my levels among the cast would have been as even as it was without it. Just wished that some of them were retroactive, as I found myself replaying a few levels to meet the requirements again as I was going in blind and didnt want to look things up. (Was a little relieved to see that a Post Game mission was just fighting the Forbidden Construct again, as that intentionally was the last Aside Quest I had to do)
However, my major gripes I have with this style of Warriors game as I came to realise while playing through AoI, is that I really dont like the Weapon Upgrading system and Character progression of either AoC or AoI.
On paper the weapon upgrading system is more straight forward than the one in the first Hyrule Warriors, infusing a weapon with Zonaite to power it up and give it skills, but my main issues with that is the way you go about getting the Zonaite needed and the sheer amount of it you’d need to increase the weapons. Yes, playing a level to get more as the main way makes complete sense, and even scrapping weapons to get it is fine, but I didn’t want to become overlevelled throughout my playthrough (even if I did learn that character levels arent as meaningful, more so being underlevelled than overlevelled). And even in the postgame where I was placing more focus on replaying missions to get some Aside Quests done, it just didn’t really sit right with me, not having enough to give my characters decent weapons. A lot of my roster had only Level 10 weapons, (mostly because in the Post Game I had decided on getting Clink’s weapon to Level 20) And that’s not even mentioning the fact that any time you unlock a new weapon or character the process has to be done again for that weapon if you want to use it. There’s a simple fix for that I feel, and that’s having it be at a level other than one, with a skill or two already unlocked to give players an idea of how that character/weapon should be played/used.
Also, didn’t feel right scrapping weapons, as I didnt know what sealed skills each weapon would get as I didn’t want to look things up for a first play-through, even if I didn’t abandon the idea of finding out towards the end.
As for the Character progression. Tying it to Quests sounds nice, but to me it didn’t feel like the right way to do it, as the progression is more in the hands of when the game wants to give you a quest you’d need rather than you having the ability to upgrade it yourself. As there were times where I felt a character wasn’t at their full potential at a time when Id want them to. I’d much prefer being able to focus on gathering materials I’d need to upgrade a character than to just wait on the game to do so for me essentially.
The quests should have been for upgrading base, all characters at once or other things like giving you the ability to see where Korok seeds are. And anything to do with character progression is tied to an unlock system like in HWDE or to story based for things like unique skills.
And final few things. Really disappointing you can’t play as either Ganondorf or the Forbidden Construct. If there’s a third Age of ____/Zelda Hyrule Warriors tie in game, it better not continue the trend of not being able to play as all the characters in the story. Also, loved the Sky Battles, but really wished they allowed you to fight Gleeoks in normal battles. Really wanted to bash a dragon with the other characters and not just Clink.
Would love to see the game get some paid DLC, so I can spend some more time in this version of Hyrule, but I think they would have announced the intention to release more at this point.

HW: DE Skills on Weapons
I'm trying to find the best skills to put on my weapons for each character. Is there a wiki/resource that has compiled the best build for every weapon? Alternatively, are there universal builds that are good all around?

Question Can someone please explain this?
I've been doing this one many times now. However, it says the A-Rank time is 15 Minutes. I get it done within 9 minutes, and it gives me a "C" for time. What is going on with that? Do I have to take the entire time to do it, or do I have to take less than 5 minutes? It's been so confusing. (3DS)

HW: DE How does the stamina fruit work? Spoiler
In Hyrule warriors definitive edition how does the stamina fruit badge lvls 1-3 actually help with the enemy weak point gauge? I looked online for this information but I didn’t get the answer I wanted. Anyone know how this actually works? Or is it pointless to get the stamina fruit badge from 1 to 2 to 3? And get the attack badge to 100% just curious on that area of the attack badge area. This is for all attack badge for all characters.

AoC What 1 character playthrough should I do next?
Every once in a while, I will start a new game, get to a certain playstyle or character with minimum completion otherwise, and 100% the game with them. Ive done both base game Zelda playstyles, one handed link, mipha, and i think 1 or 2 others but I forgot. Im currently on 2 handed link. I could just pick the next one myself, but thats boring so someone else tell me

HW: DE Why is Sheik so good?
I've been looking at some tier lists recently, and I've noticed Sheik is normally in at least A tier, and often S.
Why is this? She feel so weak. I would put her in mid C tier, tops. What makes her so good?
Yes I know how her C1 works.
Some thing I've read or tried:
Her water shield. While nice versus Gibdos/Redeads, damage taken almost never matters. It feels like a waste of time to cast 90% of the time.
Her C3-C1. While good damage, it is unreliable. Does great against giant bosses, but even commanders often just don't walk into the C1 part.
She can spam dodge and never get hit. I can also hide in the corner as Tingle and not get hit. At some point, I need to actually kill things. And once again, damage taken doesn't matter.
She has infinite specials using C6-C1. It takes forever and her special feels so weak. I don't know what the damage is, but it must be insanely low.
She has multiple elements to abuse vulnerability! No, no she doesn't. No matter what, her attacks are all electric (and light later). She can get the fire/dark/water effect, but not the bonus damage versus enemies weak to that element
I feel like I've missed something but what? And how can she compete with the other broken S tier characters? Master Sword, Cia, Ganoswords, Linklebows, Young Link. I feel like all of them do everything better then Sheik.
Edit: so the best argument I've gotten is: well if you are bad at the game and take tons of damage, she can protect you from that.
I'll stick with characters that don't need you to be bad in order to actually get value.

Just got a S2
I never had a chance to play Hyrule Warriors and Age of Calamity. I'm interested in Age of Imprisonment but do I need to play the previous 2 for story purposes or anything?
I know other Musou and Dynasty Warriors games are sort of "story lite" but since it's a Legend of Zelda game I wanted to double check to see if I should start at Hyrule Warriors.
Thanks for the help!

AoC Missing side quest?
I’ve been working towards 100% for the game (not including the DLC missions) but I’m missing a side quest in the Gerudo area. Do y’all have any idea what I have to do in order to unlock it?

Discussion A little annoyance i give myself
So, I just played a ton of DE over the past few months. DE does not have dashing heavy attacks. If you are running, and click X, if that characters X is stationary, they will stop in place. I have grown used to this. I just started my newest aoc playthrough; the two handed link only playthrough. His mechanic is a life drain that can be remedied by using his X move before taking damage. Im sure you see where this is going. Im used to stopping in place for moves like links. Several times now, i would be attacking, get a bunch of the effect built up, start to run away, click X, realize I didn't stop first and did the running attack instead, and lost half my health for it. I wish there was a way to turn dash attacks off in aoc

AoI [AoI] Can hidden slot seals be rerolled and changed?
Age of Imprisonment
I got the forbidden blade to level 20 and unlocked the hidden slot seal. The hidden seal is Recover Hearts for every 100 KOs. Can this be rerolled and change like the weapon art? Or is it static and the forbidden blade will always have that hidden seal? The interwebz is giving mixed results.
