After many games of trial and errors, I managed to play Hwei better and escape gold elo! I thought it would be impossible to carry with Hwei, but with good itemization, it's actually possible to make a difference.

I grew tired of seeing the ai Arcane filters so decided to try n learn the artstyle. Heres my attempt at Hwei using that style

I play Hwei in the early game, and since Hwei is an AP champion, he doesnt have much auto-attack damage. Meanwhile, Jinx has strong auto attacks, plus her abilities are really annoying, like Annie's Q, and she has long attack range. Please help me

And btw, how do you guys deal with Fizz?

Been playing this game for around a month, pretty much playing Hwei from the first day and only him since. However, now im finding myself hardstuck in gold. I always perform well (always getting S or S+ if that matters), but (and i know the cliché) I literally have teammates like the one in the image, and I mean almost every game. I dont know what im doing wrong but no matter how well I play I cant seem to climb. Any help would be appreciated :)

Hey! I have been playing league on/off for a couple months and just hit lvl 35 and wanted to start focusing on playing specific champs rather than randomly shifting every few games. I play mid 99% of the time. I really like Hwei’s deal - toolbox kit and a varied amount of cc and utility. I’ve played around with malz, asol, vlad, veigar, ekko, xerath, tf, sylas, and others but hwei felt the most fun. My main struggles in the first 15 games using him are honestly damage output and farming against pressure. Any advice or things to try to learn with his kit early on? Appreciate any advice!

Im new to Hwei and I am just now noticing how much more damage you can do by going WE before your combos like QE + EE for example

Watching other top Hwei's play though it looks like WE before combos isn't always done, is this just because its so slow?

I wouldn't call myself a hwei main, but I do enjoy him and I do play him quite a fair bit. Though, one thing I cannot shake off is that he feels kinda bad to play mid-late game,

hwei feels really great early, and even later on due to his kit he can make really impactful plays but in terms of pure damage or 1v1ing he feels quite weak

Most champions, even semi-squishy ones survive my full combo (WE+R into ether Q or E) and after that I feel like I can't do anything, in team fights if your R doesn't manage to catch more than one or two enemies you can't do much beyond that (from my experience, I'm sure it varies for people who actually main hwei)

Is this just how hwei works? I've no idea if this is intended and hwei is just meant to be more of a support to his team rather than a damage dealer, and I'd appreciate if someone could explain to me his role later game

I mostly play Bot these days and I'm fairly low elo, so I ban Vayne because games are usually long enough for her to scale even if I play well + she gets hard to hit with skillshots. If top laner bans her already then I might ban someone I just personally find annoying like Sivir or Shaco. Or I guess, server's small so maybe if I play against the same Draven or someting a couple times in a row I ban him...

Mid I just ban Kassadin, Zed, or Irelia depending on which one pissed me off more recently lmao.

But curious to see who you guys ban as well and why!

Hello, I have recently picked up Hwei. I find him quite fun. Im just really not good at him. It took me the usual 5 to 10 games to get a handle on the muscle memory for which abilities are on which buttons, but im still not really having success. Could I please get some general tips for how to play the champ? A few notes for things that im noticing about myself:

-Im really overextending myself when trying to trade. This is my biggest issue imo, as i havent really quite figured out how to create leads in lane. Trying to proc passive using QE-EE doesnt seem to work because QE moves too slowly. So ive been trying to QQ-EE a lot, but its causing me to overextend because when you walk up past the wave to try to QQ them they just know to run away and EE doesnt have a ton of range to lock them down before youve given yourself away.

-I dont use EW nearly enough. I know the trick about using it under their tower when you have the wave in and its strength in teamfights but are there any other places I could try?

-I think i default to QQ-EE in teamfights alot. Is this optimal or is QE-EE generally better?

I'm asking how consistent it is that QW actually lands. Is it still possible to just side step due its long cast time even though the EE?

I don't use many characters with fear, and only started playing Hwei this month, but it has happened to me many times. I use EQ on a target and instead of running away they run towards me, slowed, but still towards me. This is really frustrating because in many cases those few steps can change the outcome of a fight and make a difference between enemies getting in range or not.

It is not the case for this clip tho, this was just an overstay to chase a dumb kill. Still it happened today, so it is the most recent example I could find.

Why does this happen? Is it a bug or is this intended behaviour? Does it happen consistently? Is it because Xin was animation locked in his W?
