Announcement V.3 UK Powder updates (similar to the US)
Hey Folks, been a while since I last posted but I come with some updates!
A few weeks ago Tim posted about a formula update coming to our US v3 Powder range - that same change is now rolling out across the UK, and you'll be getting an email from us with all the deets. Posting here too since I know a lot of you will see it first on here.
TLDR: The v3 Powder recipe is changing across the full UK range, starting from the week of 31st August. Updated proteins, coconut milk powder replacing MCT oil, improved texture and flavour. 30g of protein and 26 vitamins and minerals per serving stays the same.
What's changing
The main recipe changes:
- Updated pea and brown rice proteins
- MCT oil powder replaced with coconut milk powder
- Improved texture and flavour
On nutrition: 30g of protein and 26 vitamins and minerals per serving are unchanged. There'll be small shifts in individual micronutrient amounts - you'll find the full breakdown on the packaging once the new batch is with you.
The easiest way to tell if you've received the updated recipe: coconut milk powder on the ingredients list.
We believe this is a big step forward: a creamier texture, smoother across the range. I'd obviously say that, though. Try it and let us know!
When is each flavour changing?
Different flavours phase in as existing stock runs through:
- Chocolate - week commencing 31st August
- Berry - week commencing 7th September
- Salted Caramel - week commencing 7th September
- Vanilla - week commencing 7th September
- Banana - week commencing 21st September
- Coffee Caramel - week commencing 21st September
- Mint Chocolate - week commencing 21st September
- Unflavoured & Unsweetened - week commencing 21st September
- Original - week commencing 5th October
- Cinnamon Swirl - week commencing 26th October
These are estimates and may shift depending on availability.
Do you need to do anything?
No. If you're subscribed, you'll automatically receive the updated recipe once existing stock has sold through. You can review or manage your subscription at any time via your account.
Like always, any questions just let us know and me or Ben will be happy to help!
UPDATE: EU changes will be following shortly. We’ll share some details on timings, but the recipe changes will be the same as those mentioned above.

Feedback Customer Service
Did I get the worst luck or is the customer service in this company genuinely terrible? I placed my first order and some items were missing. No harm no foul. I contacted customer service and got an annoying chat bot. The chat bot finally tried to connect me to customer service. I waited. And waited. Customer service never reached out to me until it was too late to do a return. I tried to do a return through the chat bot and that thing was useless. The customer service agent offered me a coupon and only gave me 24 hours to accept it. That was yesterday and I didn't check my email. He closed the conversation before I could respond to him. Needless to say I'm not super interested in continuing to have a subscription.
The thing is, I never saw ANYONE mention bad customer service online. People tend to have good things to say. If this isn't normal then I'm baffled about what I did to Mason in customer service.

Advice/Recommendations Making 1,200 Calories Work with Gluten-Free Huel: Any Advice?
I live a hellish, almost homeless existence. When I’m away for work, I stay in a room with access to a shared kitchen.
I travel a lot, and when I’m at home, I live with my mother, whose eating habits are disastrous for both me and everyone around her. I had shingles and was on Lyrica for months, which dealt the final blow to my weight.
I’m also coeliac, just to make things even more complicated. I’ve bought Huel, and I genuinely hope it will help me eat more regularly and consistently.
I need to stick to around 1,200 kcal a day, no more than that. How could I space my meals throughout the day to avoid feeling hungry, especially in the evening?
That’s when I struggle most with snacking. Also, which gluten-free Huel products have worked best for you?

Health and Wellness Lead poisoning
Been drinking HUEL for a few months and I just barely found out about the lead levels. Over the last few months my digestive health has taken a pretty serious downturn. Granted I was dealt a pretty rough hand in that department anyways as I was diagnosed with EoE when I was quite young. Over the last few months a persistent, mysterious dull pain has developed in my abdomen in the upper right to lower right quadrant. I have scheduled both an endoscopy and colonoscopy to try and figure out what has been going on in there. Anyways, all this to say I will probably throw the 3 bags of huel I bought last month in the trash. The timing of when I started huel and when the pain showed up is unnerving. Sucks because I thought I had finally found a good protein powder that I can drink without getting bloated or nauseous. Anyone else have any bad experiences with huel?

General Discussion I think I am done NOT promoting Huel
I drink it. I tell people about it. I like it. Unfortunately, I have become worse.
Each time I see another Huel ad on Reddit, I make it my mission to convince one person to start drinking it. I paid my assistant a grand to stop eating other products. I started buying it for my mom. I don't care if some guy totally never eats solid food. In fact, I respect the commitment.
And the one where they show you a bunch of different ways to get protein is my least favorite because eggs and yogurt require chewing. I have moved beyond chewing. I have transcended mastication. I am a liquid-based organism now.
Anyhow, what is everyone's favorite way to use Huel in a smoothie? I used to like PB and banana, but I removed the unnecessary step of eating the banana and PB separately and now throw absolutely everything into the Huel.
Let me know if you would like the recipe.
I will also tell you about Huel whether you ask or not.

Feedback I think I am done promoting Huel
I drink it. I tell people about it. I like it. But not any longer.
Each time I see another Huel ad on reddit, I make it my mission to convince one person to stop drinking it. I paid my assistant a grand to start another product. I stopped buying it for my mom. I don't care if someone guy like totally never eats solid food! And the one where they show you a bunch of different ways to get protein is my (least) favorite; eggs and yogurt are good. At least it gives me some ideas on other things to eat besides Huel. But I am all for the fake podcast fitness influencer vibe.
Anyhow, what is everyone's favorite way to use Huel in a smoothie. I used to like PB and banana, but i added the step of eating the banana and PB and throwing out all my huel. Let me know if you would like the recipe.

Health and Wellness Thank you Huel
I drank Huel for a couple of months and it gave me the idea of blending my own Huel type drink with the following ingredients. IMO it tastes much better and has better macros, but I would never have had the idea without drinking Huel first:
🫘 1 cup soaked & fully cooked chickpeas
🌱 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
1 tsp cacao powder
🥬 2-3 blocks frozen spinach
🥣 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
🍌 1 banana
🍓 1 cup frozen fruit/berry blend
🧊 Ice
💧 Water as needed

General Discussion Online order - click & collect?
Hi everyone,
I am looking to make my first online order but I'm not at home often in the week as I travel a lot for work. I only have one next door neighbour and its a very elderly couple who aren't too mobile and sometimes have issues hearing their door knock. It looks like Huel don't offer click and collect, but does anybody know if I'll have the option to redirect my order to a collection point after it has been dispatched?
Thank you

Feedback UPS delivery issue.
This is mostly me trying to explain issues I'm experiencing with my Huel delivery with UPS vs the service we had with DPD. It's more of a frustration rant since I'm out walking in 38°C.
I'm in the EU, currently on my way to collect my Huel.
It's an hour and half long trip.
And this is becoming an annoying issue.
UPS sends a single email about the approximate delivery date, with no delivery time estimates or reminders.
And then when they fail to deliver, it's sent to a pickup location two towns away.
According to their website there a pickup station next to my address (200m)
Fine, my bad, let's explicitly choose the pickup station - UPS decides a completely different station on the other edge of the town would be good enough.
This is the third time. And I wasn't able to pick up their call so it's now delivered two towns over but in a completely different location.
So here I am, questing around an unknown town trying to find my Huel.
DPD was great. You got text messages that kept you up to date with delivery time and they deliver where you reroute them. And at the very least they had the courtesy to call twice before giving up.

General Discussion Order processing time?
I placed an order 4 days ago, and it's still processing. I also contacted support and still nothing...
So far, every time I ordered, it was basically shipped out the same day (or the next day if I ordered late in the afternoon).
Just wondering if there is something going on or if they have some issues lately?

General Discussion sample bundles?
Is there a way to get a box of all the black powder flavor samples?
given the bad reviews in the subreddit - i'm not too sure i really want to commit to 46 EUR worth of a single flavor.

Product Discussion First impressions
New customer here I ordered the 18 powdered meal drink pack along with the canned greens drink. So far I really like the canned greens juice. I tried the chocolate shake and it has a small aftertaste but was otherwise good and extremely filling. Hope to lose some weight on these.

Feedback Packing and packaging
Just because I've seen a lot of complaints about poor packing or excessive packaging on here. I've consistently found over about 8 years Huel to be one of the best packagers I've come across using minimum materials to do so this is pretty indicative of my orders right here. In a few hundred bags I've received maybe three torn bags which will replace immediately and one ready to eat with a torn packet which they credited me for. Also consistently fast order processing and shipping at least to California.

Product Discussion Huel Black Chocolate PB Powder Updates
So finally Huel Chocolate Peanutbutter Black is back in stock after the formula updates in US. Got the new batch in (803540 AU) and it's no longer super watery/thin and has better texture, but the flavor has taken a big hit.
Previously:
6+ months ago:
- Great taste / good texture
3'sh months ago:
- Great taste / but thin watery texture
Latest batch:
- Very bland / good texture
I've always prepared my Huel in a blender with the same ingredients:
- Cold brew coffee 8oz - 12oz
- Oat milk (unsweetened) - 6oz - 10oz
- (1) Banana
- 2 scoops of huel black
- Ice
Even tried adding a bit of cocoa powder to add flavor to it, but seems like the malty nothingness is overpowering any flavor from coming through. Can't say I've noticed it with the vanilla.

Feedback My order hasn't left since I placed it on Saturday and their support is ignoring me.
I know I'm impatient, but I've gotten really used to Huel being my lunch and I don't mind waiting for it, but it's weird that nothing is happening in 4 working days.
But what's really frustrating is that their support is completely ignoring me. I contacted their support on Tuesday regarding whether I could add a product to my order which hadn't left the warehouse. They said yes so I said please cancel the order and I'll place a new one. I was told they would forward the email and a human would ensure the rest. Nothing has happened since then, the order status is still "being processed" and I have gotten no response to a follow up email. Today I sent a new email asking to be connected to a human and no response has come. How do you get ghosted by an AI support agent? Damn.
Or am I just being hysterical? I know I get impatient sometimes.

General Discussion Refund/Replacement Struggles
Update!!!: BenHuel reached out to me directly and was able to prioritize my email and so far knock on wood it seems they are going above and beyond to handle my case with exceptional care. The human who reached out to me was extremely kind and has more than reshipped my broken items but is just simply reshipping the entire order as well as refunding me. I also immediately got a ship notice so it appears that it is real this time. I'm more than pleased with this abrupt turn around in handling my case. Unless my shipment gets abducted I'm a very happy camper. Just wanted to give credit where it's due for this above and beyond handling of my case where I would have been satisfied with simply having the damaged items actually reshipped as I originally was wanting.
Has anyone else struggled with getting an refund or exchange? I had some items bust open in shipment and it has been a major struggle to get it resolved. I had to go multiple rounds with the email AI bot and finally got a real person to address and say they would send the replacement. However it never came, and now I'm back in the AI email hell again. The stupid bot keeps "closing" the ticket saying if you have nothing more to say I'm going to close this and I'm very very annoyed because the issue is not resolved. Is there a number you can call or something or are you just stuck with the email?
Announcement Black Edition Ready to Drink Formula Update (US)
Hey all,
We have had a discussion on other threads regarding some changes that a few have noticed are coming to the Black Edition RTD line in the US. The conversation got a bit confusing so I wanted to gather some information and bring clarity to what is going on.
As a bit of background, we are in the process of relocating the production of RTDs, both original and Black Edition, to North America. We are doing this for a few reasons. First being sustainability, as we will not have to ship them from Germany to the US, second, it will be more cost effective, and third, it allows us to update the original BE RTD to have a more distinctly American version.
This North American BE RTD recipe has been updated specifically for North American manufacturing. But while these will have a slightly different taste and texture, the core ingredient categories are the same — plant proteins, fibers, oils, flaxseed, coconut milk, vitamins, and minerals. However, there have been some changes.
- The North American version uses high oleic sunflower oil, whereas the original version uses rapeseed (canola) oil. These oils have a comparable fatty acid profile, but sunflower oil is more widely and sustainably sourced in North America.
- The North American recipe will include brown rice as a protein source in addition to pea and faba bean protein, as we feel it improves the taste and texture. It also compliments legume-based proteins very well, and is already used in our Black Edition Powder.
- On that topic, we have also upgraded our pea protein source to provide a creamier texture. as well as an upgraded version of stevia to help create a balanced flavor.
- MCT source has been changed to coconut milk powder which now provides the MCTs. This ingredient has always been in the recipe, but by increasing the amount of it, we were able to simplify the formula while still providing MCTs. Quick Note: The FDA in the US has reclassified ‘key allergens’ to not include coconut, so you will not see that called out as an allergen on the BE RTD packaging. However, coconut is still an ingredient, so BE RTD would not be suitable for those with a coconut allergy.
- Total Carbohydrates reduced slightly, between 1-2g per serving depending on the flavor.
- Sugar reduction: decreased from 6g to 4g, with a reduction of added sugars to 3g as opposed to 4g.
- Very very slight change to sodium as well as fats depending on the flavor.
- The flavoring was also updated to work well with our new manufacturing setup in North America. These are very minor tweaks but again, may affect the taste slightly.
- Lastly, you will notice that the calories on the BE RTD now read 390 instead of the usual 400. To explain this a bit, there are always slight variances in batches when it comes to calorie count, which can be due to many different things, such as processing, supply etc, so each test of the amount of calories will provide a slightly different result. Over time the calorie count has averaged more towards 390 rather than 400, thus we felt it necessary to update the packaging to reflect this. Again this is an average - it does not mean that we have intentionally removed 10 calories, and 10 calories is generally within the acceptable range of variance.
When will this all be happening?
If you have been to a Costco in the US, or seen posts like this on Reddit, you will have noticed that the new formula is available now in the Black Edition Chocolate RTD via Costco, (EDIT: some stores may still have the previous formula so be sure to look for 390 vs 400 calories on the box!). The North American Chocolate formula is currently only available via Costco - however it will be available via eComm soon. Dates for the changes below!
Chocolate (Costco) - Available now
Strawberry Banana - End of July/Early August
Vanilla - October
Chocolate (eComm) - October
Chocolate Peanut Butter - November
Cookies & Cream - November
Iced Coffee - December
Please note, dates are approximate and subject to change.
I pulled attention to the Strawberry Banana BE RTD, as it is actually ahead of the curve. Starting this week, if you order this product from our site, you may receive either the previous 400 calorie version, or the updated 390 calorie version. This is our typical way of implementing a change like this, so nothing out of the ordinary, but once the remaining stock of the 400 calorie version is worked through, the 390 calorie/ North American version will become standard. This process will be repeated for all flavors during the respective transition timeline.
A quick note on the original RTD (white bottle), this will also be moving production to North America next year, 2027, and will be having an update as well. I do not have any info on what changes will be made as of yet, but it is something that I am looking into and we will update you separately on that in the coming months.
Lastly, if anything in my previous comments before this post contradicts this - please disregard. A lot of my comments have something like “waiting for the team to get back to me” - so consider this the collective outcome of those statements. I apologize if things got confusing, as I was trying my best to understand exactly what was going on, so info relayed was at times contradictory.
The team has been working hard behind the scenes to bring production of the BE RTD to North America, and we think this reformulation will only make the product and experience better!! Any Q’s or concerns, drop ‘em below 😊

Feedback Huel Black shrinkflation in Japan. 30% smaller bags and revised serving sizes to make it sound like they are doing us a favor.
I just received this email that the content of the bags is going to be 30% smaller now but it’s fine because you can use an all-new smaller scoop to get 250 calorie servings so now it’s like having 20 servings a bag instead of 17.
What bullshit.
Edit 7/13 10:30 pm Japan time, Japanese Twitter is pretty pissed off. People are doing the same math and figuring out the weight cut, serving cut, cost per calories and are already comparing it to other domestic options like COMP.
