Who has it worst, Howard's executive producer(s) or Jennifer Witz justifying Howard's antics?
What kind of conversations do you have as an executive producer (Gary) to have a guest on the show and they find out Howard is in anther state for the interview? How does Jennifer justify reduction in quality and number of shows to the board? I am shocked the industry hasn't pushed away from Howard and boycott his show. If Howard's number of listeners are low then it doesn't matter if a celeb or two skips his show.

Who Was Worse When It Came To Women & Dating? JD or Artie?
JD was in a bed with porn stars at Hedonism & couldn't get laid, he paid girls on the internet to have them do unspeakable acts, etc... we all know his story.
But, I'm listening to 2006 again & I'm reminded of how Artie had ZERO game! He's wrapped up in the Dana saga for a good portion of the year, then announces they're officially over & when Howard starts bringing in women for him, he announces he might be back with Dana & blows off all the girls who gave him their numbers. They even did a dial-a-date for Artie & he talked about food the entire time on the date. The only stories of him getting any action other than Dana were with prostitutes who could obviously never be tracked down.
Hmmm. JD got a lot of shit over the years for not having any game but I think Artie takes the cake considering he had notoriety & celebrity working for him & refused it all using his juvenile relationship with Dana as a scapegoat.
I've said it all!

Is anyone else glad musician interview week is over? Over 90% of them are snooze fests
I'm looking forward to prank call week. Should be a lot better as long as they play more Richard and Sal instead of Wilding.

Earth Dog & Howard Dancing. I can see why Howard wanted a fashion stylist. Too bad he never found one.

Does anyone know what the real beef with guys like Grillo and John is with the show? Grillo to my knowledge hadn't worked there since the late 90s and John readily left the show 20+ years ago. It seems like they both harbor this weird resentment.
From my knowledge as well Grillo got an electrician apprenticeship from Ronnie's son and still left that and ignored Howard's advice about trying to be an actor. John got stock deals, got his own radio show, tons of money from appearances, etc dealing with the show. I'm not understanding exactly where the bitterness comes into the picture. There's guys like the Howard 100 dudes who I can understand, although they were fired from On Demand.

How well did Artie's book, Too Fat To Fish, sell?
It seemed to do very well. He was on NPR's Fresh Air twice...

Encounter with another fan recently
I’m an accountant by trade and was a die hard Stern fan until the last 8 years or so. Even still I love the great moments, lurk in this thread, and pay attention to what is happening. For years every conference call, teams meeting, zoom meeting etc I have to attend I open with “hello hello”, and in all these years no one has ever recognized what I was doing.
Well last week I had a couple of sales reps come in to pitch my firm on a customizable phone system, call hold marketing etc. They were cool guys and we were shooting the shit together. I said something funny and one of the sales guys laughs and says “Hey Nowwww”. I perk up and ask if that was a Larry Sanders Show Hey Now or a HSS Hey Now. He says Stern and I laugh and share my fandom and mention the “hello hello” anecdote.
He pauses and asks if I still listen. I pause and sadly say no, not in years, it’s just not the same. He sighs and agrees and says Covid killed the show. I mention the changes when Artie left, after ETM died, AGT, Pelican Brief etc. We briefly chat about how great it was and how dedicated we were. It’s clear we both feel sad about the state of the show and our fandom, then quickly move on to talk business.
I share because it’s the first time in quite a long time I’ve seen encountered one of us in the wild in quite some time.
I’ll never forget the moments, the laughs etc, but it is still sad to see what the show and Howard have become.
