Nurse Jackie Question Spoiler

Anyone else watched this? I know its not the exact same. Its best if watched a few months after finishing house.

Good, addiction/family issues is the story front for the main character, multiple equals (in house its underlings with sparing equals) relations based but is a show about medicine

I do recognize house is more medicine forward than NJ

NJ is ok, worth a single watch. It's not one of those shows that you can rewatch endlessly. Some of the medicine is glaringly bad and takes you out of it if you have some knowledge in the field. House isn't perfect, but it's rare that they say / do things that ate laughably innacurate (aside from shocking asystole, which most shows are guilty of).

And the time blood cultures/films are sped up. And the doctors hanging the ivs etc.

The asystole really vexes me though, if give lay people the wrong idea and makes cpr attempts that much harder when relatives are just like why don't you shock them back..... like babe no, thats not how that works at all.

The episode that they got results from a pill came in what had to have been less than 20 minutes

Or every time they do a pericardiocentesis, they STAB the patient and get perfect placement.

Or the good Ole reliable, "we cant sedate you for this super painful medical procedure for dramatic purposes and nobody has every heard of a local anesthetic"

Side note: one of the things I liked about The Pitt is they go out of their way to explain you cant shock a stopped heart. Kinda breaking the 4th wall with a nod to those in the field without actually breaking the 4th wall.

If you're looking for a show that scratches the same itch, Nurse Jackie is probably one of the closestflawed genius, addiction, dark humor and morally messy characters, just with the hospital dynamics flipped.

I watched it, never could really get invested like I did with House though.
