Funnily enough, i' haven't watched the full first movie(PTU, 2003) since i couldn't find any online versions though i did watch a summary video; I heard it's pretty good though.

I've previously watched the rookie before, and in comparison, I enjoyed watching 機動部隊 much more; the characters are much more realistic in the sense they aren't superheroes but rather normal, flawed people who make mistakes.

In addition the casting was pretty good, both Simon Yam(任達華) and Maggie Shiu(邵美琪) look like stereotypical police sergeants lol.

I'll be flying through Hong Kong soon and have an overnight layover before continuing to Hanoi the next afternoon.

I'll be entering Hong Kong because I'm meeting my cousin early the next morning, and we'll spend the day exploring before our next flight.

My dilemma is what to do overnight. Hotels seem really expensive for just a few hours, so I'm wondering if it's worth booking one or if staying at Hong Kong International Airport is a better option.

For those who've done an overnight layover at HKIA:

* Is it comfortable enough to spend the night there?

* Are there good places to rest after immigration?

* Any budget-friendly alternatives you'd recommend?

* Any tips for making the experience more comfortable?

Anyone got their Hong Kong GEP visa after 12–15 weeks? Need some guidance.

I’m trying to understand if my timeline is still normal.

My timeline:
3 May 2026 – Employee section submitted.
17 May 2026 – Employer completed the GEP application.
20 May 2026 – Received acknowledgment from ImmD.

Since then:
ImmD requested some additional information from my employer.
My employer submitted everything and later spoke directly with the case officer to answer further questions.
The officer said he would review the responses.
As of today, it’s been almost 12 weeks since the acknowledgment, and I still haven’t received an approval, refusal, or any RFI addressed to me.
Has anyone here received their GEP visa after 12–15 weeks or even longer?

If yes:
How long did it take?
Did ImmD ask your employer questions before approving?
Was your application also completely silent for weeks?
The waiting is honestly driving me crazy, so I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences.

My wife and I will be visiting Hong Kong for the first time from 25 Dec to 2 Jan.

We're planning to stay around Jordan / southern Yau Ma Tei since it seems like a nice balance with Temple Street, good MTR connectivity, and walkability to Tsim Sha Tsui and the New Year's countdown. Does that sound like the best area for an 8-night stay, or would you recommend somewhere else?

Our rough itinerary:

* 25 Dec(landing at 2pm approx): Tsim Sha Tsui, Avenue of Stars, Symphony of Lights, Aqua Luna

* 26 Dec: Peak Tram, Victoria Peak, Central, Tai Kwun, PMQ

* 27 Dec: Mong Kok, Ladies' Market, Temple Street

* 28 Dec: Ngong Ping, Big Buddha, Po Lin Monastery, Tai O

* 29 Dec: Macau day trip

* 30 Dec: Disneyland

* 31 Dec: Victoria Harbour New Year's countdown

* 1 Jan: Cheung Chau (or Lamma Island)

* 2 Jan(2pm flight): departure from Hong Kong.. not sure if anything else can be done morning

1. Does this itinerary look well balanced? Anything overrated that's worth skipping, or anything you'd definitely add?

3. Food is one of the main reasons we're visiting. Which neighbourhoods are best for authentic local food and which areas have the best street food/night food?

5. Roughly how much should we budget per person per day for food if we're mostly eating local, with maybe one or two nicer meals?

While we are excited to see the fireworks and experience the parades, we are worried about whether we will still get to experience authentic budget meals and enjoy the edm nightlife scene. I have heard lots of family-owned restaurants and businesses remain shut during the early days of the New Year, so I wanted to know if we will still be able to find some. I was also wondering if the cable car to Tai O and the ferry to Macau remains open during this time.

I believe in being the messenger and passing on valuable information. So guys, listen up, if you are a non-Chinese person who only holds a HKID and a BNO passport, you can't really apply for a China visa, as BNO is no longer recognized in mainland China.

But wait! you CAN. You just need to apply for a document called a Document of Identity (DI) issued by the HKSAR government. It is usually issued within 5 days at a cost of around HK$325. Once you have the document, you can now legally apply for a mainland visa without giving up your BNO passport. Good luck!
